We loved our stay. It was secluded but still close to town. The cabin was lovely and we can't wait to return!

Mountain Getaway

Our mountain getaway was perfect for our group of 7. We loved exploring the surrounding area and relaxing around the fire and hot tub in the evenings. The only downfall was the drive up the mountain was a bit scary for a bunch of Floridians. We would definitely stay again!

Family get away

Thank you. Good location to visit Sylva, Cherokee and the National Park. The guys enjoyed fishing and we all enjoyed the hot tub at the end of a long day.

Majestic Getaway

The property was exactly as described. Very clean and easy check in!The view from the deck is gorgeous. Watching the fog rolling through the mountains while relaxing in the hot tub is priceless!

5/5 stay! Everything was super clean and cozy. It was our home away from home for the weekend and my friends and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Everything was as described and we would totally stay there again! Great communication as well with the host. Great stay and memories made!

WCU College Visit

What a wonderful weekend in the “WHEE”! This is a wonderful cabin. Extremely clean and well appointed with everything you could need! Plenty of room, great amenities and even better than the pics on the listing with new furniture in some rooms! The hot tub was clean and the fireplace was perfect! We throughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again!

Weekend Stay

Clean property with everything you need. Large front porch with great views. Limited parking and a steep driveway, but nothing that can't be navigated. Comfortable beds. I wish we had spent more time at the cabin but we had a full agenda for our weekend in Cullowhee.

Great Escape in the Mountains

We thoroughly enjoyed our time! The inside of the property, towels, linens, etc, was incredibly clean. The kitchen was the best stocked kitchen I think I have ever seen in a rental. The hot tub was great! We did not get a chance to use the fire pit, partly because of our schedule, partly because of rain(so there are some extras logs there for whoever rents next). Overall we had a great experience.

Great mountian escape

This was a great long weekend to enjoy the fall in the mountains. It’s a steep driveway to the house, but that just gives you a better view! My wife, two young daughters (8 & 5) enjoyed the house and the small mountain towns around us. Great location to get to Silva, Bryson City, Waynesville, Cashiers, Highlands, Franklin, and more (all less than 1hr drive).

Sundog Rentals Made the Difference

We escaped to the mountains (and the cabin is at the top of a mountain) for a long weekend to support our grad student in her hunt for a home near WCU. The cabin was a perfect location for our home base. We did encounter a situation which put a damper on our weekend stay, however, I give Sundog Rentals a superior rating for addressing the situation quickly and offering us options. Overall, the weekend was restful and our stay enjoyable.

Fall Vacation

We had a wonderful time. Three (and a half) generations together. We attended the Apple Festival in Waynesville but it was much too crowded. Played games and grilled steaks. Only complaint was I needed a TV in my bedroom upstairs.

So relaxing!

We’re from Raleigh & the temperature difference between Raleigh and the Our Pinnacle cabin was at least 10°, frequently 15° and way less humidity. It was just so much more comfortable. That doesn’t even include all the creeks, rivers and swimming holes scattered around the area as well as the mountain tops. Just a wonderful summer getaway.

Great cabin but isolated

If you want a quiet place in the woods this place is great. If you want to explore North Carolina it’s about 45 minutes to get to anything. Cabin was well kept and nice. We ended up having to buy a lot of basics like garbage bags and toiletries because we stayed several days and the property manager only provided enough for 2-3 days. Overall a great stay and a great cabin! Thank you!

Cabin in the sky

Had a great experience at Our Pinnacle. The cabin was clean, had a comfortable layout, comfortable bedding, sheets and towels and the process with property management was seamless. Getting to the cabin was "easy" but it is on a very steep mountain road. The road is paved so that certainly helps. It is worth the climb though once you sit on the deck and see the mountains you are surrounded by.

House was clean and well-stocked with needed items. Rental company was good to deal with. Location was convenient to Western Carolina University (11 minute drive) and very quiet. We only had a couple of issues during the stay. The first is that the road to the property is very steep and is in need of maintenance. There are large craters in the road (especially a the end of the driveway to the home) that make driving up the steep grade even more difficult. I would not rent this property unless you have a 4WD vehicle, and do not arrive after dark for you check-in. The driveway is also shared with an adjacent full-time home. The rental company has a general disclaimer to check with them about access before you go, but it should probably be in the property description prior to booking. The other issue is that we selected this property over some other choices because it had a hot tub for use after long hikes. The hot tub jets were not working. The rental company was very good and sent someone from maintenance to check, but they could not get it fixed during the stay. No big deal since it was almost too hot outside to use, but it was a bit of a letdown. Couple of other things to be mindful of that are probably common on mountain properties: low water pressure since property is on well and absolutely no cell service with a 10 minute radius of the house (but the house had excellent Wifi). Otherwise, it was a great stay.

Erin, We're sorry to see that your vacation had a couple issues. While we are aware cell service is important, we do let all guests know at the time of booking and in the listing that cell phone service can be spotty . This is why we always encourage guests to connect to the rental properties WIFI so your phone can receive and make texts or calls. Unfortunately the road is shared by the community but we will pass along your concerns to the property owner. We hope to obtain 5 stars from you on your next stay with us!

Experiencia unica

El lugar es excelente fue una maravillosa experiencia la casa se encontraba en la cima de la mantaña por lo que el camino fue una mezcla de emociones por la carretera muy elevada pero todo es Maravilloso todos lo disfrutamos mucho y facilmente podriamos volver otra vez y las cascadas que estan cerca son hermosas .

Close to WCU

Great location close to Western Carolina University only 10 minutes drive. Beautiful views of the mountains. The cabin had everything we needed for our stay. The hot tub was a wonderful bonus. We will definitely be back.

Cozy Cabin

Cabin was just like it was described. Well-suited for our family of four. Kitchen was one of the best that we have experienced. From a waffle maker to a hand- juicer, the kitchen had almost anything that was needed to cook meals. The master bedroom/bathroom were spacious. It was nice to be on the the first floor. The upstairs bedrooms were also nice for our children. The beds were comfy. We would definitely stay here again.

Convenient commute yet tucked away

Enjoyed our stay over the NY holiday to take in the fresh air. Conveniently located to Sylva and Cullowhee, this cabin checked the boxes for our sleeping needs and had a hot tub which was appreciated to unwind. A relaxing trip indeed
