A spacious fenced-in backyard surrounded by large palm trees with updated appliances, decor, and furniture will make your stay feel just like home. Pets welcome!

Great location, great stay!

Great location and perfect little cottage with everything we needed for a few days at the beach. Walking distance to coffee, groceries, and the beach. We will definitely be back!

Not enough bath towels for 4 adults

Very nice back yard for the puppies, close to the beach and lots of beach amenities. Would consider renting again.

Perfect last minute get away

Really enjoyed the fenced in cottage, that was literally steps away from the beach. Perfect proximity to grocery stores, restaurants, and beach access. We carried our dog in the wagon as he is aging, and it was a breeze. They provided so many extras for our stay that we honestly packed too much in the car, that we didn’t even need. All the necessities to grill out one night was provided as well. Just an overall stress free trip. I hope to be able to stay again in the future.

Cozy Shack by the Beach

We had a lovely stay here. Kitchen was equipped and check out process was incredibly easy. It made leaving early very easy. Also it was walking distance to the beach and we enjoyed the nearby park.

Comfortable Cottage in Great Location!

Enjoyed our stay in this well equipped, classic IOP home. Easy access to beach and connector. Liz was an excellent host and very responsive. Highly recommend!

We were in town for a wedding and this house was the perfect location. Close to everything. The yard was great for our pup and the neighborhood was nice for long walks.

Had a great time with the dogs at the Cottage by the Sea. Convenient to all amenities. Fenced yard was a great bonus. Host was quick to respond to messages.

Weekend stay

We booked this property based on location, According to the map it was one house away from a large group we were traveling with and wanting to stay close to. The house ended up being over half a mile away from the location stated on VRBO. Not easily accessible with food and drinks to go back and forth.

Wonderful stay

We had a great time! The house was clean and well-suited for the needs of a mom and three teens. The teens could walk to the beach and enjoy without an adult having to drive them. Also close to stores and restaurants. Wonderful backyard for frisbee tossing, dog running and all sorts of games! We loved this place!

More than expected

Although I read the previous reviews, the property was more than expected. It was close to everything you needed and home itself was adorable. I will definitely rent this place again.

Mini vacay

This little cottage was a throw back to simpler times at IOP. We are Charleston area natives, born and raised, who live elsewhere now. The "cottage by the sea" gave us that unpretentious beach feel we miss! The natural backyard view from the deck was so relaxing, and it was just a short walk down to the beach. Thank you Liz!

Perfect for us!

We had a great stay at this cozy cabin! So comfortable, so convenient to everything! Our doggos had a great vacay as well, with a great yard to run around in. Don't worry, one of our puppies has made sure the back yard is lizard free! If you are looking for swanky, this is not for you, but if you're looking for a great comfortable, neat, convenient homey place for a family with kids or fur babies, this is it!

Very pet friendly

We travel often with our dogs and this was by far the perfect house. Granted, we were there for our sons baseball tournament but specifically chose this house due to proximity to the beach and a fence in backyard. There were dog toys and dog bowls, kids beach toys, coolers, etc and a short walk to the beach. Will look forward to renting again in the future.

Adorable Little Get Away

Location and Ease! This stay was remarkably easy and comfortable. A throwback to an old beach house, this stay was big enough for my family. We were able to walk to the beach every morning and let our kids and dogs run on the beach. The details that the hostess put in were so thoughtful. We had a Christmas stay, and we were delighted to see a tree and a scavenger hunt for the kids. It was accommodating, and the hostess was very responsive to any of our needs (which were few!) We can't wait to book again!

Cute cottage, convenient location

I rented this property for a weekend so that I can go to a wedding in Mount Pleasant. I wanted to bring my dogs with me, and this place was perfect. The backyard was just the right size to allow them to run and get out a little bit. The house was very cozy and convenient. Everything we needed was in the house. A friend went with me. She said the queen bed was one of the most comfortable she had ever slept in. I used the lower of the bunkbeds and it was comfortable as well.

IOP WEEK

Very pleasant base for my wife and I along with our dog. Short walk to beach each morning for walk to enjoy sunrise, coffee shops along the way back to house. Mid day easy drive to Charleston then back to house to rig up for paddling in the afternoon. IOP marina was very accommodating allowed us to park and paddle, I would not expect that once the season gets busy. Very pleased with the house for two not sure we would have enjoyed as much with more people in our party

Cottage by the sea

The cottage is in need of someTLC.The windows need replaced and the back door is in need of paint or replacing.I feel bad that whoever built and painted the back deck also got overspray on the house .This is so sad for a cute little cottage.The kitchen just needs pots that the teflon is not pealing and some glass wine glasses not plastic.

Best Stay in a Cozy Cottage

Just returned from the most relaxing stay in the nicest cottage over Memorial Day Weekend. It ended up just being a husband, wife, and adult son. the place was perfect for our small group. We enjoyed the short walk around the corner, literally, to get to a less congested part of the beach. You could even walk to the grocery store and a magnificent restaurant the Long Island Cafe. One afternoon we used the charcoal grill provided at the home by the owners and made burgers.. all in all, Everything you need is located in this cozy cottage. You only bring yourself and a few beach towels. We will definitely Return. Jackie and Family from Georgia

The front door had to be locked even if just running to car because it wouldn’t stay shut

The front door wouldn't stay shut so even if running to car you had to lock inside or out. Also it was hard locking the door from the outside. Sometimes it wouldn’t catch and the deadbolt would not turn.

We live locally (about 10min away) and really enjoy coming to this great little cottage just steps away from the beach. We just purchased this property recently (June 2020) and have been making great upgrades. It really is the perfect getaway!

The 1/2 acre lot provides a spacious back yard that is fenced in, making it great for pets to run around without worry. Enjoy the peaceful atmosphere on the back deck listening to the sound of circades with your family and friends. Also a quick drive to downtown Charleston if you want to get off the island.
