Girls weekend was a huge success with this home being so close to ALL the fun! We enjoyed the common areas playing games and hanging out, the proximity to the beach and the main drag in town, and the concert venue in Charleston was easily accessible. We will definitely be back!

Overall great stay. Bed sheets were some of most comfortable I had experienced Cleanliness was the only thing that wasn’t 5 stars mainly due to roaches, both dead and alive in the house upon arrival. After that, we didn’t see anymore. I’m location to beach was great. Would recommend, and if we ever come back, we would definitely consider staying again.

Wonderful place just as described. I've stayed in houses, condos, apartments, and even camped at the washout when that used to be allowed over the years in Folly and the location of this rental was ideal. You can literally park your vehicle upon arrival and not get back in it until you leave if that's what your looking for. Beach access was a 5 minute walk. Very affordable and does what it needs for a nice Folly getaway. Thank you!

Had a wonderful girls trip in Folly! Island Girl is in a wonderful location, very convenient to Bert’s, Center Street, and the beach! We had a very comfortable stay!

Our Stay at Island Girl

We enjoyed out stay and the property is exactly as listed. We were close to everything of interest to us and the beach access is a short 1 1/2 block walk. This place is neither overdone or underdone, it was perfect for our purposes. We were also pleased with the ease of communication with the owner.

Great little cottage for my family!

We really enjoyed our stay there at the Island Girl cottage. The location could not be more perfect. It was fully stocked with extra towels and pillows. The initial check in was little unclear at first but the owner reached out to me by phone to ensure we got in ok, which I thought was great!

Folly at Folly

ISLAND GIRL was overall a nice place to spend our family vacation. The living room furniture could use some updating, and the outside of the cottage needs to be cleaned, especially the deck railings ( up and down ).We were disappointed that there were no board games as listed.On the bright side, the beds were very comfortable and it is located in a very quiet area. We had a nice visit to Folly and would recommend ISLAND GIRL.

Lovely Place

The Island Girl was perfect for a week away with my husband and 6 year old. Well stocked, very clean, great backyard, superb location. Owner was very responsive. Only downside is, it’s not quiet. It’s a busy street and you can hear everything. The price to pay for fantastic location! Would recommend and would visit again!

This was a very good location. Definitely a old house with foundation problems but everything stayed in good maintenance. Would not recommend for people over 65 or physically handicapped because of steps inside. Beds were ok. Sheets were nice and clean. Hvac worked perfectly!! Good equipped kitchen. Refrigerator was ok. Bathrooms were very clean little small but manageable..

great beach getaway

Island Girl was great. Perfect 2-minute walk to the beach. The only thing that I suggest is adding more beach towels. Listing says plenty, but there were only 2. When traveling via plane, it was nice not to have to bring them, but disappointed when there were not enough. besides that, great little cottage to relax at the beach.

Overall it was a really great stay. Clean and exactly what we needed. It close to the beach. A bit of a walk to the town (not super long...12 to 15 min) and parking there was very hard without paying a pretty penny. Many people had golf carts and that seemed like it might have been helpful or a bike or scooter would have been great. No parking issues with that. The house was great. A great beach house...very "beach bungalow" feel. Good spaces, plenty of room for 4-6. Great bedrooms. Awesome family table. Comfy living room. Good cable. Bathrooms were perfect. Very clean.

This is not a home for older adults, to many step downs and very narrow steps to bedroom, several bugs.Husband tripped several times do to flooring has step downs you do not notice as all flooring looks the same.Left lights on all night so did not trip again.

Great location but house needs a good cleaning and maintenance.

The location is the best part of this home. It is walkable to the beach and restaurants. House was quite dirty. The floors turned our feet and socks brown. The couch had broken down cushions. Mattresses were in bad shape. Many dishes were dirty and the handle to the fridge was broke off. It is such a great location but I would not stay here again unless it had some TLC.

House was like a frat house

The house was very old and the floors are not even and mini steps that we tripped over several times. The back yard was black dirt where we had to wash off when coming in from the beach and tracked in the house. I sweeped floor every day of course. It may be good for younger folks. But was not for us.

The location is the best thing about this place. It’s within walking distance to the beach and not too far from the main strip and a 24 hour mart. Plenty of parking. HOWEVER, the house looks like a frat house. There was mold in multiple places including the laundry area and in the coffee pot. Thankfully, there was a newer looking Keurig that was available for use. The floors were all warped. Many step ups and downs inside the house almost like the house was pieced together. The door to the upstairs balcony would not lock. The outside shower was nice for rinsing items from the beach but the yard needs a serious mosquito treatment. There were many broken items when we arrived including the microwave door handle and the fridge door handle. After checkout, the owner accused us of breaking the fridge door handle even though it was already broken when we got there. Would not recommend.

We loved this little place when we stayed here in 2022, but it has gone way downhill since then. It was very dirty, with old food hiding behind and underneath furniture, stains all over furniture and a nice layer of dirt and food crumbs in the couch cushions that my kids found of course. Mold in multiple places and I had to vacuum and scrub the stairs. We found two cockroaches, one dead and one alive. The microwave door handle is broken and the top back door doesn’t lock. The front door looks like it has been kicked in a couple times and the back door bottom threshold is not attached, so when it moves out of place it leaves a nice gap between the door and floor. With the holes in the walls and carpet, and the grime that literally goes from floor to ceiling, this place has become a dump. I do not recommend this place for families, especially with young children. The pros..location is absolutely wonderful (we were able to walk everywhere), management did refund us a portion of our stay due to the unacceptable state of uncleanliness, and management did come fix the AC quickly when it went out. I hope this place can be restored back to what it was. I wouldn’t not stay here again unfortunately and will have to find a different place on Folly for next time.
