Cute little cottage in town. Very clean and accommodating. Within walking distance to shops and restaurants. Would definitely recomend for a couple or small family.

It's very convenient to everything in town, and was exactly as pictured in the listing. The home is clean and well-stocked with everything you might need. Though the kitchen is small, it's surprisingly packed with all manner of helpful items. The bed is super comfy and cozy.

Cattail Cottage

This charming, coastal themed cottage was conveniently located to Assateague Island, Wallops Island, and Chincoteague! It was clean, gave abundant information on the area, and in a quiet location. My husband and I enjoyed our stay at our home away from home for a reasonable price!

Practically Perfect In Every Way

The cottage was depicted online as it was experienced in reality. The management company was a blessing when a couple of glitches came up. The cleanliness and location were great. Thanks for a great get away.

Neat, clean, cozy, with a coastal vibe. Just the right size for the 2 of us, although there's enough room for a few more people if needed. Close to shops, the National Park, beach. Wonderful to have the outside shower to ride one or sand before going into the cottage. Grateful for the air condition units.

Just Right

The property is well maintained and in process of getting a metal roof. Looks like it was paused for our stay. The amenities were great for our visit. The location is quiet and very convenient to shopping, restaurants, Assateague Island for hiking and bird watching and to the Curtis Merritt Harbor for boat excursions and to Memorial park for kayak launching.

The cottage was very clean and well maintained. It was beautifully and charmingly decorated, reflecting the Chincoteague Island area. It was calm, peaceful, and restful. It was centrally located to fully explore Chincoteague Island and Assateague Island. We spent most of our time outdoors exploring the beauty of the area.The vacation management company was very helpful with booking, key access and return, as well as, being very welcoming and conversational!

Beautiful little cottage will accommodate 2 adult couples comfortably with private sleeping & bathro

The harbor checking stated 2 queen beds, but one was a king. Also misleading weather linnens & towels are included or need to bring your own. Everything else was great!’

Reviewer Comments: We found Cattail Cottage to be spotlessly clean and comfortable with added features such as an outdoor shower with both hot and cold water; hypoallergenic linens, pillows and paper products; and a lovely outdoor deck to sit on and enjoy a meal or your morning coffee!Its central location is ideal; it’s only a 4-mile drive to the beach and a 10-minute walk to Island Creamery to get ice cream.We look forward to returning in the future!

The bed was one of the most comfortable vacation home beds I've experienced! The location was great. It's an easy walk to Mr. Whippy and Island Creamery. Happy we discovered this renovated little cottage.

A good friend stayed with me, and the set up with the new bathroom was ideal in that we did not disturb each other. I slept on the pull out sofa in the back room and was able to spread out my work on the table and work at my computer without disturbing Jane who slept in the bed room. I love everything about this cottage!!!

The rehab of the original cottage is tight and solidly accomplished and the resultant living space is practical and accommodating. The appliances and amenities provided are perfectly adequate. An exterior keyed lock on the sliding side door would be a useful addition. The neighborhood is quiet and private. The owner's passion for the ponies is evident and centers one's visit on Chincoteague Island life. The cattails were in prodigious display this year.

We have been coming to Chincoteague for roughly 50 years. This is the first time in quite awhile just my wife and I. The cottage was perfect size. Barbour rentals has always treated us very nicely and professionally, we will be back.

I had a minor issue (a problem with the TV) for which I contacted the owner who was very gracious. The problem cleared itself up.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Stayed here in Jan of 2022 before the renovation which was so beautifully done! Love the barn door and the vanity with all the storage. Love being able to spread out on the the big table to work. Being able to walk to town and to Maddox in a few minutes is a huge plus. Love the cottage furnishings and all the little finishes which makes it so homey and welcoming.The only suggestion I have, which I mentioned after last stay, was to have a light installed over the sink so that you are not in shadow when working at sink or counters.

Our stay coincided with a tropical storm and tornado which was weathered just fine in this house. We greatly appreciated the rental company’s updates on weather/ island conditions/ power outages. Very nice and attentive staff. Property was very clean with updated appliances.We loved it and will definitely be booking again!
