This magical place gives the feeling of being in the middle of nowhere but yet is only 5 minutes to the village of Margaretville which has all of the shops and conveniences you could ask for. Your rental will include the use of a row boat & 2 kayaks that you may take to any of the surrounding ponds and lakes. The surrounding area has an abundance of hiking trails, waterfalls, and swimming holes to discover as well as ski mountains, mountain golf courses, ziplining, scenic train rides and other outdoor activities. This brand new immaculate home awaits you to enjoy the fabulous great room with soaring ceilings, wood burning fire place and sliding glass doors to large deck with table seating and propane heater. Kitchen includes microwave, oven, electric stove, refrigerator and freezer, toaster oven, coffee maker and dishwasher. The two bedrooms on the main level include 1 King & 1 Queen size bed & 1 full bathroom, The bunk room on the lower level includes 2 queen beds & 2 twin beds with an en-suite bathroom and a large recreational room. Wifi and TV with streaming capabilities. Washer and dryer for laundry. Driveway parking.

Great Fall Foliage

We came up to do some hiking and see the fall foliage, but the view from the house was as gorgeous as some of the trails. Would definitely recommend!

Awesome stay!

We had a great time at this rental. Check in was smooth and communication with the owners was seamless. The home is exactly as pictured and very well stocked with all the extras if you need them. The location is great for access to snowboarding and there are several restaurants in the area. The check out process was simple, which we really appreciated as that seems to be one of the biggest drawbacks to vacation rentals. If we could give more than 5 stars we would, we hope to be back soon!

Beautiful Home with a Stunning View

Cannot say enough good things about this house. You can tell a lot of love and care has gone into making guests feel like it’s not just a house but more like a home. Abundance of room and a fully stocked kitchen made it a comfortable much needed relaxing getaway for all of us.

Beautiful home with dramatic views

This lovely home had a gorgeous view of the valley and reservoir. Everything we needed was available, and the home was in pristine condition and very well-appointed. I’d definitely recommend it for a relaxing stay!

A view we would never tire of!

This is a great house with a fabulous mountain view! The owner was helpful and responsive when we had a couple of questions. The location was great. The house was well furnished and everything worked as it should. We saw the resident ground hog and a small fox. We were very happy with our stay and would recommend the house!

Fausto was a great host. Responsive and flexible to our enquiries. Rooms and facilities all wonderful. Very relaxing stay. We had everything we needed- especially the wine cooler!!

Gorgeous Catskill house and views

A balm! Beautiful home with all you need for a comfortable stay in the mountains. Late August brought us warm days to hike and spend time on the deck overlooking rolling hills and reservoir and cooler nights to spend around an outdoor bonfire. Comfortable beds and state of the art appliances and rooms sized for company added to the experience. Can’t wait to return and check out new seasons to explore.

Gorgeous

Fantastic getaway into the Catskills with incredible views. The property is very well stocked and was immaculate upon arrival. We also thoroughly enjoyed using the outdoor fire pit every evening for s’mores. Close proximity to nearby towns for shopping or restaurants. Nothing negative to say, we had a great time!

Family ski weekend

We had a great time at this beautiful spot! The house was great and the view was amazing. We were there for a ski weekend - 8 adults. We enjoyed the fireplace every night and made use of the kitchen stocked with all of the necessary tools. Meals around the huge table and coffee with that view in the morning!!! Fausto made sure the road was plowed and sanded before we arrived and it was sanded again on the morning we left. The road up to the house is a bit tricky and 4-wheel drive is a must!! I only wish we had known that before we trekked up there! We did leave one vehicle in the municipal lot down below but the police were very accommodating and assured us that it happens all the time! We have plans to return when we can enjoy the warmer weather on the deck.

LOVED IT!!!

We rented “Sugar Mountain” for a family ski trip (6 adults). I have to say, this was the best vrbo home I have ever rented. The home was just beautiful. It had everything I required of a ski rental. It had the big fireplace, large gathering area for the family as well as another hang out are downstairs, an immaculate kitchen with all the tools for making gourmet meals and the most comfortable furniture and beds. I have to say, I loved the couch especially. Oh, and two EXTREMELY comfortable window seats. My son’s go-to place to sit to watch tv. The owner was extremely responsive to my numerous questions before and during our stay. We would most definitely rent here again.

Great summer vacation

Our family of 4 spent a week, with a 2-day visit also from my brother & niece. With the main level and lower level living spaces, we had lots of room to spread out and allow for things like teens watching a movie & adults playing cards. The house is beautiful and the setting/view is stunning. We loved the fire pit. It is definitely a quiet, rejuvenating place to be! But also the town of Margaretville is convenient for groceries, ice cream, etc. Within a 45-min radius we found great hiking & swimming and visiting the Catskills always means a trip to Woodstock and to the Phoenicia Diner! We also enjoyed the trip up Belleayre Mtn in the gondola. One thing to note is that you cannot take boats onto the nearby reservoir without having them cleaned first. I would definitely recommend the property especially if you want to simply relax and enjoy the beautiful setting. It's a bit of a drive to get to anything beyond the nearby town, but wherever you go, the drive is scenic!

Great Ski Weekend!

We had a wonderful ski weekend with friends at Bellearye. It was a short 20 minute commute to the mountain. It had snowed a bit which made the views from the backyard even better than they already were. We took full advantage of the indoor fireplace, the speaker system and overall space. We skied all day and came home to a cozy house with very comfortable beds. We shared great meals, fun games and dance parties. The house was very clean and the host was a great communicator. Thank you for hosting us! We will be back!

A Beautiful Home

A small business owner of a custom home design and development company, I built this home to enjoy with family and friends. Originally from Italy, my wife and I now live on Long Island and have raised 2 children there. We enjoy priceless memories in this vacation home in the Catskills and hope you will as well.

After years of searching for the perfect piece of land we came across this amazing 5 acre vacant parcel with magical views so sweet we nicknamed it "Sugar Mountain". Within minutes of walking this property we knew exactly what we wanted to build and how to place it on the property to capture the amazing water view of the Pepacton reservoir.
We love this location because we wanted a place to get away from it all and have the feeling of being in the middle of nowhere without being too far from the conveniences needed. Sugar Mountain is only 5 minutes to the lovely town of Margaretville, 15 minutes to Belleayre ski mountain and just two hours and 15 minutes from New York city. Staring at the view never gets old!

This brand new immaculate home was designed with an open floor plan that captures the breathtaking views from almost every room including the lower level. The kitchen will satisfy any chef and is open to the Great room with soaring cathedral ceilings and detailed custom woodwork. This design allows everyone to be part of the conversation. The home is tastefully decorated with new furniture and very comfortable beds. The lower level provides a spacious and separate area making this home perfect for a multi family rental or a family with kids of all ages to have their own private area. The lower level includes a bunk room that sleeps 4 to 6 and is favorite for kids and adults. The Great room fireplace is mesmerizing on those cool nights and the heated radiant floors throughout the entire home make this an extremely comfortable winter rental. In the summer the central air conditioning will keep you cool and comfortable. The large 28 foot by 14 foot deck with barbeque and comfortable seating places you on top of the world with magical views that are constantly evolving from sunsets to fog over the reservoir which we call "Smoke on the water". The backyard has a wonderful fire pit surrounded by chairs. If you're looking for a hike this 5 acre property has some beautiful rock outcroppings on the lower section.
