Little Thumb si trova sul bordo dell'acqua sul lago Damariscotta, sotto pini e querce. È circondato dall'acqua su tre lati e guarda a sud lungo la lunga parte del lago. La baia ad est è un luogo di alimentazione preferito per aironi e aquile calve. Appendi i piedi dal molo privato e osserva le anatre che sguazzano. Lascia che i lunatici ti cullino nel sonno.

Offriamo affitti settimanali durante l'estate. Offriamo soggiorni più brevi nelle stagioni delle spalle. Questa è una cabina stagionale e non è disponibile durante i mesi invernali. Gli ospiti di ritorno possono avere diritto a sconti per soggiorni di una settimana o più.

La cucina, il bagno e le camere sono state completamente rinnovate. La cucina ha una stufa a gas, forno a microonde e isola centrale. Il bagno ha una lavatrice e asciugatrice. Il soggiorno ha un camino a gas e una vista completa sul lago. Ci sono due camere da letto con coperte, cuscini e trapunte fornite. Lenzuola e asciugamani sono disponibili su richiesta.

La cabina si trova su un'isola che è ora collegata al lato est del lago Damariscotta da una strada rialzata. Accanto ad essa è cresciuta una zona umida. Ci sono solo circa 10 case e sembra molto privato.

Cammina o pedala lungo le strade sterrate. Kayak o canoa al largo del molo. Pesce nella baia. O semplicemente rilassati e goditi il panorama.

Nuoto: di solito possiamo nuotare direttamente dal nostro molo. Ma l'acqua dal molo è spesso troppo bassa per le immersioni. È più profondo dal galleggiante. Puoi nuotare verso il galleggiante o pagaiare lì dal molo.

Teniamo due kayak nel cottage, due pagaie e due giubbotti di salvataggio. Puoi portare il tuo se sei più piccolo o più grande della media. Per favore, lascia che i giubbotti di salvataggio gocciolino fuori prima di portarli dentro.

Se desideri noleggiare altri kayak o una canoa, sarò felice di darti informazioni su alcuni luoghi che affittano e consegnano.

C'è una spiaggia di sabbia a Damariscotta Lake State Park, a 10 minuti dal cottage.

C'è una spiaggia di sabbia e nuoto sull'oceano a Pemaquid Beach a New Harbor, a circa 1/2 ora dal cottage.

This is our second stay at Little Thumb. We love the private dock, and relaxing in the cozy cottage. It was chilly in September and we used the little gas fireplace/stove to take the chill off. We will return again for sure.

Oh the silence! Beautiful location……wish we could have taken a swim from the dock to the float but fall chill was lovely along with the stove fit heat. Every detail thoughtfully executed. Notebook showing the progression of the remodel process very enjoyable. Very easy to communicate when necessary. Congrats Natalie!

A wonderful spot - lovingly restored, perfectly comfortable, and ideal location. This small house right on the lake was exactly what our small family was looking for, and the property exceeded our expectations. Quiet but not isolated, and close to anything you might need, but we rarely left the house and spent our days swimming, kayaking, looking at birds, taking afternoon naps. The cottage is very nicely appointed - we wanted for nothing. Thank you so much, Natalie, for sharing your home with us.

This is a beautiful spot to rest and relax. The lake is beautiful and quiet. The cottage is nicely decorated, comfortable and has great views of the lake. We kayaked and swam, listened to and watch the loons, and had a lovely chat with Natalie when she came to water. Her gardens. Highly recommended!

If you are looking for relaxing, laid back, comfy cottage, look no further. Just returned from a perfect week here. Everything we needed was right there. The host is very easy to communicate with, check in was easy. The decor is very eclectic. It's a mixture of old and new. Beds were comfortable, kitchen stocked with all that you need, beautiful view. A peaceful quiet spot to go and. unwind. We will be back.

This property is beautiful and tranquil! The house space was just what we need for 2 adults, cozy area overlooking the lake was my fav reading spot, other than being on the dock. Kayaking the lake was perfect, we saw osprey catching fish, baby geese, and loons! It was a perfect place to kick back and relax with plenty of areas nearby to go and explore.

Comfortable, classic lakeside cottage. The camp has been restored with new kitchen counters and most of the windows throughout. Furnishings and beds are comfortable. Supplies were adequate though the owner requests that renters re-supply what they use (reasonable request); so a few things were a little scarce (I.e. hand soap). Lakeside dock is very nice and a swim-up float further out in the lake. Provided kayaks are a nice bonus with the camp in a somewhat protective cove and a marshy area to explore.Departure procedures request that renters strip beds and wash sheets and linens, leaving them in the dryer for the cleaning crew to finish up. Since we had a morning flight out of Boston (3 hour drive min), this can be somewhat challenging to complete. Would be preferable to let the cleaning crew handle the required laundry.

As always, if you have any concerns please do not hesitate to contact me. Though the cleaning service does not replenish supplies (I am only one of their many summer clients), you can reach out to me if you are lacking anything. And if you are scrambling for an early flight, please let me know and I can notify the service so they will book additional time for the laundry. It is a courtesy requested by them that the laundry be started so that they can stay on schedule, but courtesy can be offered to you as well. No one should feel stressed at the end of a vacation.

Lovely cabin for a relaxing vacation. Days on the dock soaking up the sun and watching the birds, cozy nights with the fireplace. We went to the Pemaquid lighthouse, Round Pond and Wiscasset for a Reds lobster sandwich and took some scenic roads to see the beautiful fall colors

My husband and I stayed here for part of our honeymoon. We absolutely fell in love with this cabin. Waking up to the lake view, sitting outside with some coffee and a bonfire was our favorite way to start the day there! Made it hard to leave the cabin to go explore Maine since we loved this place so much! Such good vibes. Thank you!

Weekend trip

Beautiful home and property on the lake. We drank our coffee on the dock and watched the lions and birds in the area. This was a very peaceful getaway.

I am the mother of two boys and a girl who are all now grown. My husband and I moved to Maine in 1998 and we raised our family here. I was a math teacher. We all love to hike and kayak and explore. When we can, we like to visit National Parks. We've been to 38 so far!

Perché ha scelto questa struttura

Well, my kids wanted to be on freshwater, so I started looking for cabins around the local lakes. When I first visited this cabin it was well-loved but in rough shape. My realtor didn't like it since there were so many better cabins available. But when we stepped out toward the lake I knew we had a rare gem. Very few houses on the lake can claim to have a southerly view, and here it is! We are also in a more quiet spot.

I'm not afraid of a project and couldn't wait to start. First thing was to get the building level. It had been supported by tree stumps, many of which had rotted away. The floors were as level as six kids hiding under a sheet. After that we squared off the rooms and expanded the kitchen and bathroom. The rest of the renovation was just cosmetic and finding fun things at garage sales and rummage stores.

We enjoy watching and listening to the animals on the lake. We often see osprey, bald eagles, deer, beaver, loons, mallards, fox, turtles, bass, barred owls, red-tailed hawks, cedar waxwing, etc.

The best thing is that it is so private. We feel more isolated than we really are. We are only a few minutes from a town in either direction.

Beautiful views. Fishing. Kayaking. Islands. Inlets. Quiet walks. Afternoon breezes off the lake.
