Sit in riva al lago e leggere un libro, cucinare un hamburger alla griglia e mangiare fuori o forse lanciare un pallone. In serata mangiare o provare uno dei ristoranti eccezionali nella zona. Fare una gita al Faro Pemaquid (rispetto al trimestre Maine) e godere di un aragosta al Shaw a New Harbor con una crociera serale sul Hardy Boat.

We had a great stay! The host was so helpful, friendly & responsive. The house was so cozy, comfortable & well stocked. The view was beautiful, the location was perfect & it was just a short drive to Damariscotta. Loved the deck for morning coffee and dinner time. If you like to read, sitting on the chairs down by the lake is the perfect spot. The nights were peaceful and breezy. We loved waking up to see ducks, cows & turkeys. Our family will definitely be coming back!

We loved the place, super peaceful listening to the crickets all night and kayaking and swimming on the lake was great. The kitchen was fully stocked and the house was great. Our only complaint would be the new mattresses, they were really not very comfortable. My wife and both had a hard time sleeping on the memory foam and struggled with sore backs every morning. I hope the owners might consider getting some different bedding. Otherwise the place was great and we would totally come back!

I am sorry to hear you weren't comfortable with the mattresses. We have had several guests provide positive feedback about the beds. In fact one guest wrote a hand written note in July and shared they found the beds very comfortable. Beds are challenging because I have found everyone has a different preference. We certainly appreciate the feedback and will take that into consideration for future changes.

Beautiful view and great host.

We spent our 41st anniversary there and had a great relaxing time. Nice village nearby with lots of choices of things to do or visit.

It’s a cute little ranch house located right on the lake. We got to see some baby loons and hear their parents every day. The house is comfortable and comes with everything we needed for a great stay.

Cute home on Damariscotta Lake

Our family had a great stay. The hosts were very attentive and responsive to our questions. We enjoyed being right on the lake. Our kids loved taking out the kayaks to the small islands across the way. The location was a short drive to downtown Newcastle that had great little shops and restaurants.

Perfect location

Location was absolute perfection! Lake is beautiful, very quiet and peaceful! Only minutes from our aunt and downtown Damariscotta! Host was very helpful and easily accessible when needed. Did I mention that we loved the location?!?

Great little place

Good value for a lively stay. Enjoyed kayaking to spectical island and doing some rope swinging! Only suggestion is to improve the dock. Hosts were fast communicators when we had questions. Thanks for a great stay!

Lake Getaway

Picture perfect scenery. Beautiful property. Dock for putting in kayaks. Comfortable cottage. Clean and organized. Property owner very responsive throughout week. Lots of wildlife sightings. Enjoyed our time there.

Spent my 50th birthday at this lake house. Quiet. Peaceful. All I did was kayak and fish off the dock. Stunning views. Listened to loons all night. Perfect proximity to town as well.

Labor Day weekend getaway

Had a wonderful time with our two small kids at this house. Plenty of space and we enjoyed being on the deck and in the yard in the shade under the tree. We brought our motor boat and it’s so close to the boat launch which is great. Loved having the windows open to feel the fresh air.

Damariscotta Stay

The location of this property is excellent. The house is right on the lake with dock access. Dock is small and dated. House is definitely in need of repair. Windows/screens are in poor condition - we killed at least 30 flies the first day we were there and were not able to leave windows open because screens were in such bad shape. Beds were very uncomfortable. If anyone has trouble with banks, this would not be the place for you. The bank leading to the dock was pretty steep. We actually left a day early!

We are so sorry to hear your stay was disappointing. Had we known you had any issues we would have addressed them immediately as we always have during the 12 years of renting.. We always value feedback to improve things but also understand everyone has different expectations and preferences. Most guests love our dock that was built less than 9 years ago with treated lumber and is large enough for our guests with pontoon boats, fishing boats, etc. One guest told us they had the best nights sleep in years on the same beds you didn’t like. We are not sure why you had issues with flies as our other guests have not, but will certainly inspect our screens and windows and look into home improvements for 2023.

Lakeside Relaxation

If you appreciate nature---glorious sunrises, full moon glistening on the lake---ducks, geese---and the peacefulness of watching cows graze on the hill across the street as you stand at the kitchen sink---then this is the getaway for you. Warm, sunny days afford the perfect opportunity to enjoy your morning coffee on the deck---or an afternoon beverage---looking out on the lake. We were sad to leave!

Oh the view

The property was great, cottage had everything we needed and when we needed a little extra Help, Don was there. Everything about this place was excellent. The two draw backs for me was they didn’t have an outdoor fire pit and there wasn’t a beach area for kids to wade in, but they had a dock and the kids could swim off that. The cottage did have a fireplace to make up for the loss of a fire pit. I would definitely rent again. Don was a great host and we already recommended the cottage to friends of ours. The view was exceptional, we didn’t want to leave.

Quiet, relaxing stay at the lake

The cottage was clean and very well stocked. We were there in November so it was very quiet. We liked the surrounding area and made a few day trips. The owner was nice to deal with.

It was our second visit and was as comfortable and pleasant as the first.

The cottage is both beautifully situated and decorated. The lake is perfect in any weather and the hosts are extremely accommodating.

This property is on one of the top 10 largest lakes in Maine, a short drive downtown Damariscotta on the river, walking distance to the boat launch, less than 30 minutes to the ocean. You can sit on the deck with a cocktail and enjoy the view or sit inside. In the evening and morning you can enjoy the beautiful sunsets or sunrise either from the window, deck or on a kayak. During the day you can stay and relax or explore coastal Maine. Lots of scenery to enjoy on tons walking trails, boat cruises, fishing, beaches, lighthouses, dining, and so much more.
