Relaxing Waterfront Getaway with Hot Tub

Relaxing waterfront home with 6 person Hot Tub that you won't want to leave. The rental is the main floor 2 single beds 2 rooms and 1 private bath (jetted tub/shower combo). Shared common space kitchen, fire pit and deck but I will try and minimize my use for your enjoyment and privacy. Two kayaks and yard games for your enjoyment. Bring your fishing pole or boat for the pure michigan experience. You will be a 5 minute walk away from Island Grill (closed Mon and Tuesday) where you can enjoy food and drinks on the water. Plenty of other local restaurants obtainable by water or car. I have a fish cleaning station if you need it.

Nice getaway

It had everything we needed. House was nice and the hot tub was my favorite. Christine was also nice.

Fishing Trip

We had a great time on trip. The cottage was very nice and the location was great. Lake St Clair is an awesome lake. Hope to go back next year.

Nice place

The house was really cute, great backyard that would be perfect for a party! Myself and a couple girlfriends stayed for a weekend and had such a relaxing trip. The only thing we weren’t aware of was that the host was staying for the duration of our trip/that the property and kitchen were shared spaces. Christa was very friendly and helpful, no complaints at all about her hosting- just would be aware if looking for more privacy.

Relaxing

Great location, hot tub and patio area very nice. Inside needs some finish work. Would have been nice to have a bit more info as to tv controls and stations. Nicely decorated but a bit overdone in areas that could have been used for renters to put their things, especially in the bathroom. Also no hooks in the bathroom for hanging towels, robes etc. But we liked the area and would consider renting again.

Great weekend getaway!

We take guy trips to fish Lake St. Claire and decided to take the wives up for a weekend getaway. It was our first time on the upper part of the lake and it's loaded with fish and things to do. The house and Christa (host) are great. You can't go wrong with a house right on the lake with a hot tub and a bar and grill (Island Grill) right around the corner on the water. If your looking for a getaway I highly recommend it!

Great house for your fishing trip!

Found this property and was available for our fishing week. Home owner is extremely nice and accommodating, fit two boats nicely and close to ramps. Neighborhood is quiet and safe, house is very nice and clean and a great place to come back to after a long day on the water. We'll be back!

Perfect View For Boat Watching

We had a party of 8 stay in this home for a bachelorette party. There is plenty of room for 8, just bring air mattresses or even a tent for the backyard! It was cozy and the home owner was very courteous and fun. Even though the home owner is on site, we still felt comfortable enough to just be ourselves. We had a great time on the water, though it was a little seaweed(y), but still the cove you are in is busy and there is constant boats, jet skii's and kayaks going all day so watching that never got boring! A great stay and we will go back!

Great house with great view!

Christa is a super friendly and accommodating host who has a lovely home. Very spacious, clean, and comfortable. The kitchen had just about everything we needed to make meals. The bedrooms were comfortable and we also loved the reclining chairs in the living room. The back deck was perfect for hosting our local family for a Fourth of July cookout. We also loved watching fireworks from around the fire pit where we roasted marshmallows for s'mores. If you should happen to forget anything, the house is also very close to Meijer and a Dollar General. We enjoyed our stay immensely and we'd love to stay again! Thanks, Christa.

Serenity on St. Clair

We were immediately impressed with this rental. The property is a perfect view of the Bay. The overall home was impressive on so many levels. Cleanliness, amenities, beautifully decorated. We were very pleased with the beds and bedding for we are picky about that. We were there because we were going to a local wedding and I needed to help prepare a dish. Everything I needed was in the kitchen and made it so easy. The homeowner introduced herself and she is amazing. You can tell that she is put so much love into her home and cares how comfortable you are. If you want to enjoy yourselves on a Big Lake and in a beautiful rental that is cozy... this is the place to be! Thank you Krista for opening up your home for us to enjoy! We just may see you in the future!

Overall a wonderful place to stay

My family and I loved our stay at this house. The home is beautiful and the location is stunning. The outdoor space is set up for entertaining, and we spent a lot of time by the fire and in the hot tub. I also really liked the decor of the home's interior, although there are a few spots that need repair (the ceiling is having some trouble at the junction between the kitchen and the living room). I only have a few criticisms: The stove and oven were not working properly. Neither came to full temperature, no matter now long we waited, with the oven being the most affected. At one point we had waited for hours (plural) and the highest we could get the temp was 385. It really affected my ability to cook for my family, and given that I love to cook it was a major draw back. We did receive a small refund after mentioning this (it was not fixed during our stay), but after carefully reviewing the reviews I see that the stove/oven have been mentioned several times by other guests. It makes me wonder if the owner is aware of the problem but has not made an attempt to fix it ... ? Either way, I'd make a point to confirm that it is working properly before booking. The only other constructive criticism I have would be the fact that there is little-to-no place to unpack. The closets have lots of stuff in them, and neither room has a dresser. There are also no towel racks or hooks in the bathroom, which made hanging towels to dry quite a feat. Overall though, a lovely rental.

Still a Work in Progress

There are definitely some pros and cons to this property. It seems like they are trying hard to make it great, but it's not quite there yet. Pros: - Great location on Lake St. Clair, very easy to get to - Excellent shower and cute bathroom, comfy towels - Lots of great outdoor gathering spaces, with fire pit and kayaks available - Very comfy beds and nice bedding - Modern kitchen Cons: - Property is not private, hosts live there - Kitchen is shared, which is not advertised, however, we never saw anyone in the kitchen - Initial communication was poor. Took a week for host to respond. Then when I got instructions about using a code, the code was not made clear. Once we were at the house, communication improved. - SPIDERWEBS. I get it, spiders love the lake too. But things were not cleared off at all. We used paper towels as there was no broom or other implement evident. - Stove and oven were both unavailabe, which impacted our meal plan. There was a hot plate made available, which was not really acceptable, and we blew a fuse using the toaster at the same time. I was most disappointed that we weren't told about the oven beforehand. Was told upon arrival there was a microwave and toaster oven, but we could not access the toaster oven. - Kayaks were so spider covered, and the dock is so high, it does not feel safe getting in and out. All in all we had a good time, but we were wary about the set-up which definitely impacted the enjoyment.

Room not space

This should be advertised as 2 twin rooms for rent not as a home or property. The space is much more shared than advertised. When you are on vacation you want to relax and not worry when the homeowner is going to pop in. There are no dressers, luggage racks, or closet space to hang or unpack clothes. We weren't able to do laundry bc the homeowner was using the machines but were told we should have asked. I don't want to ask permission for things and be made to feel like we are a burden in someone's personal home. The homeowner did mostly stay in the upstairs bedroom but we felt uncomfortable regardless. She was frequently in the yard and even had other people there. The cleaning fee is basically for her to clean her own home and it was not up to par. The doors were dirty, cob webs, the outdoor furniture was filthy, hand prints and dirt on all the windows and glass, and a couple hairs in the shower. The panel on the tub was coming off as well. There is a glass sculpture in the livingroom that is broken amd my 3yr old could have sliced his arm off. Overall a beautiful location but we won't be back. We tried to request the cleaning fee back and we're told that "I personally cleaned it" so it had to be clean. Sorry, not so much. She even admitted that she should make the fact of how shared it was more prevalent "but most people haven't had an issue with it" How exactly do you expect guests to confront a homeowner in her own home and expect them to feel comfortable leaving their personal belongings there for any period of time. There are paint swatches on the wall, trim is not finished. There is no hot water in the bathroom sink. We frequently use VRBO and have never been so dispointed.

Blue house on the lake!

Host was great and very responsive. Hot tub was nice. Bbq worked great. Caught some fish right off the dock. Took a dip in the lake and played cornhole in the backyard. My group had a blast here and would definitely recommend this place!

Disappointed

When we arrived, the owner was still cleaning and asked us to wait outside, she wouldn't be long. After 30 min or so, we checked and she had left. Vaccuum still out, but the house was still dirty. It smelled like fish. The refridgerator had old food in it. There were no towels, we had to buy cleaning supplies and towels. The stove was not working. We brought food with us to cook while there. The bedding was dirty with stains on them. She was there several times, we figured out she was living in the house in the upstairs portion. She mowed one day. There were ski jets on the property that she used while we awkwardly played cornole. It was very disappointing. Sadly we cant afford to take but one vacation a year and it was ruined.

A memorable stay

Amazing cottage by the lake, the family just loved it. Christa is a wonderful host - made sure we had all the amenities to feel comfortable and even made sure we had games, kayaks and even fishing rods to keep us entertained! I truly appreciate how she made sure we had all the privacy to enjoy the cottage. I am hoping to be be back for another stay sometime soon.
