Absolutely BEAUTIFUL home. The set up was so good, considering our ages ranged from 4 to 80.Very easy to get around to go to beach, shopping, ect.

Fantastic stay!

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at this beautiful home! It's in a great location with amazing views. The owner was super responsive. Our family group ranged from 1-79 years in age and everyone loved this home. Thanks for a great visit!

Lakeview retreat was the perfect house for our familySo many bedrooms and bathrooms; the beautiful kitchen area upstairs was perfect for spending time together, playing games, making special memories together. All this and the spectacular view of the lake and mountains.We hope to return again someday. I certainly would recommend this property to everyone!

Amazing Spot

The location of this house was a perfect spot for our ski team to stay to get to Schweitzer mountain for a race! The Views of the sunsets and sunrises were amazing with a beautiful and spacious house to watch them from! The Owners were inclusive and attentive to our needs and made us feel welcome at all times! We will definitely remember this spot for future trips!

Amazing views

This property is gorgeous. Couldn’t ask for a better house for a large group. Only thing : we were not made aware there is a train immediately behind the house that runs all day and night.

Just FYI, this excerpt is taken from the first page of our property description on VRBO: **NOTE: there is a train that runs between the house and Lake Cocolalla. Although the train does not honk, some are bothered by the train at night, and for this reason, we have provided ear plugs for our guests. Kids of all ages enjoy viewing the train from the house as it is a unique view from above!

Beautiful Cocohalla Lake

This home was newly renovated with plenty of room for our family of 20. The kitchen was well stocked. The only drawbacks were the highway and railway tracks just below the house so not great for light sleepers. The owners did supply earplugs. Very nice place overall.

Beautiful home!

I wasn't able to actually attend (darn COVID) but the rest of the family said it was a gorgeous, roomy home at a beautiful spot. The kitchen was well stocked with every dish, pot, pan, and utensil my chef son needed to cook for our crowd. The only suggestion I received was that it would be lovely to have some beach chairs and water toys available for the fun beach that's a short drive away. Thank you for a great family reunion spot.

Great Getaway

Great home and amazing view. Definitely need to like trains but we knew that going in. Only thing I would recommend is the addition of window treatments on the main level where the kitchen is. Definitely got hot with afternoon Sun coming into that area. Great host too. Highly recommend.

Great space for larger group

The drawbacks: right off busy highway next to train tracks with frequent trains. Everything else: awesome! Trains didn’t bother us- there are earplugs provided and use of fans or white noise also blocked out the noise while sleeping for those who wanted. Layout of kitchen, common areas and bedrooms would be hard to beat. Worked great for multiple families. Amazing view!

Great property in front of the lake !

The check in was hassle free. Communication with the host was great if we had any questions. It’s a big and beautiful house that had everything we needed. We made great memories here. I would rate 5/5 for everything but I thought 4 star for location is fair as the train does pass by a bit more frequently ( we were not much bothered by it though ) and the left turn to the property while going from north was a bit tricky. We would go back and rent the same house if we come next season. Thank you for letting us stay and create some great memories with friends and families.

Good, not great.

The house is beautiful with a breathtaking view. The recent remodel makes it a modern house. We appreciated lots of kitchen storage and all appliances that we needed. The only issue we had was, in my opinion, the train was severely downplayed. It feels like the train passes at least every hour, day and night. They did provide ear plugs, but they don't help kids sleep and it does shake the house.

Spacious with a beautiful view

The family enjoyed finding their special places to sleep, and immediately felt we had loved and spoiled them. The separation of the family/activity room from the open living room made is so easy to keep the noise level down and enjoyable. The spacious room around the ping pong table allowed for games where the entire family of 3 generations could play a unique game of rotating pingpong. This is already everyone's favorite memory! Grandpa could no longer move as fast and quickly became the referee! Kitchen was very adequate and I appreciated the empty spaces to place things we had brought. The extra room in the laundry room was the pantry for us and so welcomed. The place was exactly as described. The host was friendly. THANK YOU!

Tranquil view of Cocolalla Lake

Wedding at White Barn Ranch in Sagle, Bride’s family met up at this location for the extended weekend. The view is breathtaking! Watching the activity on the lake was peaceful in between hectic wedding moments. This is a beautiful property with plenty of space and activity. The home easily accommodated all of us. There is a lot of train movement. We didn’t find it disruptive. However, we were surprised by the frequency of the trains. Some were not bothere by the sound - and slept through it without ear plugs. Others used the ear plugs and found them to mitigate the noise. It was a perfect distance to the venue, easy access to Sagle and Sandpoint. The driveway is tricky to see, particularly coming from the north. Follow the written directions carefully and you will find it. GPS wasn’t always reliable. And the driveway is not marked, particularly at night. We would definitely return to this site!

What a view- we didn't want to leave...

What a wonderful view and a train to go with it... So much fun all week in this well appointed, clean, and well stocked home. The spaces are well thought out and functional. We appreciated the sturdy shelves in the garage for heavy pantry items and the giant empty drawers all over the kitchen. We had plenty of space for all the food from our 4 hour Costco run and we felt totally spoiled having two refrigerators. The kitchen had everything we needed from the crock pot, to the blender, even 2 coffee makers. Plenty of pots and pans and we brought Solo cups, as we always do, as they get used up the fastest. The bedrooms all had blackout shades and the beds were super comfy. The bunk room in the basement was amazing with 2 double bunks. The kids couldn't believe how much space they had. The media room off the kitchen was a haven for anyone trying to get a break. It seemed to be somewhat soundproof and had no windows so it was really relaxing. Communication was fantastic. We were always able to get ahold of someone if we had a question. Thank you for everything! We felt very blessed to be able to join together in your home all week.

Lovely home, sad safety hazards

This was a senior trip. I brought 16 students and one other chaperone to enjoy 2 days at Silverwood. We loved our time in this lovely home. It was not well equipped for a large group though. Most disappointing was the many roofing nails lying around on the deck. One of my students stepped on a nail (they REALLY blend in with the grey wood) and we had to miss a large part of one day communicating with a parent and doctor's office on a weekend trying to figure out if she was up to date on her shots and would need to be seen by a doctor. A HUGE bummer for her senior trip. The hosts apologized but didn't offer to comp any portion of our stay or make any amends for the lost time and injury. They offered to pay for medical treatment, but thankfully that wasn't needed as she was up to date on shots. Very disappointing response from the host though. Secondly, the kitchen is fantastic, but not well equipped for a large group. If you bring a large group, know ahead of time that there are not enough cups for everyone to have drink at the same time, no crock pot or blender, and no salt or pepper, no broom and minimal other kitchen basics. The house is equipped nicely to feed a small group, but not a large one. As far as the trains, they did not bother us. They do not interfere with the view and they aren't super loud. There are a LOT of trains though. There were about 3-4 per hour. It's a train super highway with one track in each direction. Still, we were not bothered by them. The view is fantastic, so lovely and serene. The location is easy to get to and only about 15 min from Silverwood park. The house accommodated our group really well with plenty of space. It is a very pretty and comfortable home. I just wish the hosts had been more thoughtful in preparing the home for guests.

Hi Wendy, Again, I do apologize for the nails on the deck and I have confirmed with the maintenance crew that there are no more screws loose on the deck. As you mentioned, I did offer to pay for the medical expenses related to this mishap, however there apparently are no medical expenses. I actually was not aware that you had lost precious time from your vacation because it was never mentioned. So sorry. Regarding the house not having enough kitchen accommodations for your group - I have noted that and will make sure to replenish the items that may have been damaged or gone missing in between guests. The house is normally set up to accommodate a place setting of 24. Unfortunately, the house was left in an unusually messy and dirty condition by your group. We were sad to see that. We booked this for a large family reunion and it turned out better than I could have hoped. Everyone had room to relax and catch up. The bedrooms were huge! We prepared many meals, and the kitchen was easy to use- having two refrigerators was really convenient too. The game room was a huge hit with the kids and adults- especially the ping pong table.The noise from the highway and trains was noticeable the first night, but we got accustomed to it quickly and slept better the following nights. We actually really enjoyed watching all the train activity and seeing all the different cargo being transported.Communication with the host was quick and easy. Would definitely recommend!!

This property had plenty of space for our large family. We appreciated all the bathrooms and gathering space. There is train noise but we managed just fine as they have sound machines and ear plugs provided. Great location for area attractions.

Family Wedding

The entire grooms side of the wedding stayed at this wonderful house. It was large enough to accommodate all of us without feeling crowded. The groom's grandmother is in a wheel chair and we appreciated the ramp in the garage to get her in and out of the house.

Lovely Place

This is an amazing home with a beautiful view and an incredible amount of space. It could easily accomodate multiple families with many of the bedrooms feeling like master suites. It's clear that owners really care about the experience of their renters will all that they provide -- the well-appointed kitchen, the ping pong table, televisions, popcorn maker, etc. Tammy, the property manager, is super responsive and kind. For anyone, visiting when there's snow, be sure to bring your sleds. There's great sledding in an opening in the woods behind the house and a fun little sleddng at the boat landing at Round Lake. And there's also a gas station and convenient store super close to the house which was great for snacks and libations. We walked from our little sledding spot. There is a train that runs throughout the day and at least a handful of times during the night. During the day, it added to the ambiance and it wasn't too bad at night - no whistle and just a low rumble. Light sleepers will appreciate bringing ear plugs. I'd recommend some warmer LEDs and more dimmers to give additional options for a warmer light to offset the white. And as I'm sure the owners are already planning on doing (recently renovated), add some more decorations. That said, I do not hesitate to give five stars. Thank you for a great vacation!

The house was amazing and had the best view of all time!

The kitchen was fully stocked which is important because I cook 3 meals a day! The beds were comfy and house was cozy :) Ping pong table was so much fun. And the owner is super friendly and communicative. Love this place!!! Peaceful and calming.
