Welcome to a new must-see property in the popular Powder House Pass named Old Fashioned! This brand new 5 bedroom custom property has been designed and built with your vacation comfort in mind. Located in the heart of the Northern Hills recreational corridor close to ATV/snowmobile trails, this lodge is sure to make your Black Hills vacation the best it can be!

Old Fashioned is a great option for those groups looking for room to spread out while having a large and open gathering area around the kitchen and living room, vaulted ceilings with floor to ceiling windows and a cozy modern fireplace! The large well-stocked kitchen has a large kitchen island and all the wonderful cooking amenities you enjoy having for cooking meals. There's a dining table with comfortable seating for up to 8 with the kitchen island having 4 bar stools. The kitchen area walks out onto the large deck with an amazing view of the starry skies and nearby forest, and there's a gas grill available as well. The living room has a large sofa, TV, and fireplace. There's also a two-stall garage great for storing those ATV and snowmobiles you bring on your trip. The upper level includes 2 bedrooms and bathroom. The lower level has a nice living area with a sectional sofa, TV, and shuffleboard table! There's a walk out from the lower level out onto the patio that has a large hot tub for those cool nights and an additional table. There's also two more bedrooms on the lower level.

Outside you'll find a nice driveway that can fit a smaller trailer or two, and great proximity to the local clubhouse where you'll have access to a heated pool, fire table and game room with pool table! You can easily take the couple minute walk over to the clubhouse down the main road through the subdivision and likely see wildlife on your short walk. There are snowmobile trails that can be accessed on the edge of the subdivision, and ATV trails that can be easily accessed on a short ride down Rochford road that you can connect with miles and miles of off-road fun!

Deadwood is only 15 minutes away and there are taxi's that do service the area if you're looking to take in a concert, gamble, enjoy some great food or just walk the historic main street. The highly popular Spearfish Canyon is just 10 minutes away as well, with its amazing fly fishing, hiking, and just taking in the beauty of the rim-rock canyon walls and local waterfalls. In about an hour drive, you can also be enjoying larger attractions like Mount Rushmore, Keystone, Custer State Park, Sylvan Lake or Devils Tower. The location of Old Fashioned is perfectly centralized between so many fun things to do during your vacation.

Graduation vacation trip

This house was remarkable!!! We had 12 adults and 1 child so we needed a lot of room and bathrooms were not an option to share. The games downstairs kept the adult kids entertained and the hot tub was relaxing! Location was so fabulous and an hour and half from everything we wanted to do. We even got Landry done for the next leg of our vacation. I will stay with this company again for sure!!!!

Large Family Vacation

The house was perfect for our family. Because there were four individual families the house was perfect. Each had their own bedroom with a king in each and a full or queen bunkbed. It was perfect for their family with small children.. The location was great, within walking distance to the pool. The house was situated on a cul-de-sac, so the kids could ride their bikes with plenty or room to play outside.

Annual Family Vacation

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is a beautiful place for large family gatherings. The bedrooms are designed for groups with multiple families. Most rooms have bunk beds plus a king size bed and an en suite bathroom. This place has personal space plus places to gather with everyone. We enjoyed the fire table on the beautiful porch. The kitchen was well equipped. We found the cabin to be very clean and really enjoyed the close proximity to dirt biking trails. The club house and pool were also very popular with the littles.

Nebraska loved it!!

We had our family Christmas there this past weekend! Great location, clean, and a gorgeous place! The games in the basement were a GREAT addition and kept the kids busy the whole weekend. Hot tub was just what we needed after a day at Terry Peak! ❤️❤️❤️ Thank you for a great stay, I don’t think it will take any convincing to get our family to come back again!

Summer vacation

The house is perfect for a large family with children. I love that each room has a king bed and queen bunk beds. I contacted the property manager a couple of times and the response was almost immediate. The heated swimming pools are a great fun for the family. Additionally it was rainy and cold so the hot tub was a pleasant surprise.

Excellent property for large groups

Perfect property for large groups. I would say it’s more suited for less than 23 guests. We had the max of 26 and ended up having to use air mattresses. Wasn’t an issue with our group. Enjoyed our trip, great property!

Annual Side x Side Trip

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: With 5 bedrooms, each with its own private bathroom, our main requirement was met at the Old Fashioned. Ample gathering space for our group. Fireplace on the deck was enjoyable. Kitchen was well equipped. Expected to have soap/shampoo in each bathroom, washcloths were sparse. Water heater did not keep up with the needs of the 5 bathrooms even with staggered showering, water pressure was weak at best, both important after a dusty day on the trail. We had a plumbing issue upon arrival which was taken care of the next day, but it took 3 contact attempts to the property management company to get a response to the problem. Parking is limited at the property. Overflow parking is about 1/3 miles away. Still a good property for the price point.

Great home for large family gatherings

We enjoyed 4 nights at The Old Fashioned . . . it's a great home for large groups (we came with 21). Although it was advertised to "sleep 26", we found room for 22 if four slept in each set of bunk beds (that's going to happen!). But we made it work. The Great Room was very spacious . . . a wonderful deck! Not much parking for vehicles/trailers/ATV's.

When 22 adults are in one house more than one roll of paper should be in each bathroom. We paid a lot for this house, we shouldn’t of had to go to the store to buy more.

Amazing large family property

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our family has been enjoying the Black Hills over the New Year Holiday for several years. We have really enjoyed the PowderHouse Pass area. Homes are beautiful, community building is enjoyable, and great energy all around. The home has a large open main floor, kitchen was well stocked with small and large appliances, our family really appreciated the layout. Best perk is every bedroom has its own bathroom. We only had a few complaints, upon arrival the first thing the kids like to do is enjoy the hot tub, it was very dirty and kids smelt like mold when they got out. I notified the manager, response was prompt and someone came to correct the problem. I sent manager a thank you text for sending someone out and also mentioned maybe it had been awhile since it had been serviced or someone stayed at property since upon arrival 2 of the 5 bedrooms had dead flies on the floor and beds, it was the response that I was offended by, manager said "Nope! I was there twice yesterday and owners had just stayed" I was not complaining about the flies, just noting maybe it had been a bit since a stay, I felt response was rude. I do know that our family found empty cups under beds, mouse poop in dresser drawers and the coffee bar, lots of debris under couches. I asked about space heaters as the basements get very cold, they don't have any which i understand but was given the suggestion of closing upstairs vents, that did help. Our family washed a majority of the towels and swept and vacuumed before we left, hoping this will give the housekeepers more time to check underbeds and in drawers to make guests feel like their stay is well kept. I want to end with this is a Holiday we all enjoy, we will continue to do year after year.

Everybody had a bed and there was plenty of room for everyone to enjoy their stay.The area itself has so much to do! Our family enjoyed a day of snowmobiling, playing outside and sledding, and a day to Deadwood for the adults. We could have enjoyed skiing also but everybody was to tired and just wanted to enjoy the space we had for everybody. The house was decorated for Christmas for us so we didn’t have to worry about that! We have talked about trying to rent the space again for a gathering,it was perfect. Highly recommend.

Perfect weekend!!

We celebrated my mom and dad’s 60th wedding anniversary with 38 family members and utilizing one of the other properties!! Our stay was absolutely perfect with so many wonderful amenities and so close to lots of fun activities!! We look forward to staying here again in the future!! We had a group of 12 people and had plenty of room to spare. Garage provided adequate space for 7 motorcycles and even had a pressure washer on site which came in handy after a day riding in the rain. Would definitely recommend the property for anyone.

Good location

This was a wonderful place for our family of 15. Plenty of room for us all to have our own space. Kids were entertained by game room downstairs and hot tub. Very nicely set up!
