The House was clean and very comfortable. AC worked great and beds were very comfortable. We could have used more bathroom towels. Short walk to to the beach. Great for Labor Day Weekend.

Great stay!

I was there for the Lone Star Rally. The location was far enough away to not be bothered by a lot of noise yet close enough to get to the fun as we saw fit. The house is walking distance to the beach with a convenient store minutes away. There were some wear and tear spots but over all, the house was very clean with plenty of bike parking. We will return...

The property itself was wonderful. Clean, cozy, comfy beds, well stocked, very homey, and a great location. Dealing with the property management company was not. From issues with check in and communication being delayed and insufficiently due to the fact that you’re dealing with a third party instead of the owners was really frustrating. I will not book another property that is managed by Ryson.

Great property to stay at.

Great property to stay at. Walking distance to the beach, quite area to stay. Close enough to small stores for any thing one needs within one mile. There is a Dollar general need by for any quick buys.The house is great, its about 1,900 square feet with 3 bedrooms. Big enough for people to find a spot. The deck is big enough to just sit around and have fun. Rooms are nice sizes, living room was just right. Kitchen has everything you would need for cooking, coffee, toaster oven. Grill available on ground level. Plenty of parking space. We had 4 adults and a 5 year old. Plenty of beds for more people. I wanted the size and space so we dudnt feel boxed in and this house worked out great.

Great location close to beach

This home was great for our family getaway! Kitchen has every appliance you’ll need, just bring all of your own groceries and spices. Would have been helpful to have a broom accessible for quick cleanup. Bedrooms and bathrooms were clean and comfortable. When we arrived, the smoke detector was going off and we were not able to reset it - only way to silence it was to undo it and leave it hanging from ceiling. Notified property manager immediately and they said maintenance would be notified. We never heard anything else and left it hanging until we checked out. All in all a wonderful location!

Management Company is the weak link

The home and location are wonderful. They met our needs well. When we got to the home it took us a few minutes to get the front door opened. We immediately sent a message. It was answered the following day. The second issue we found was that the front door did not lock from the inside. We had to prop a chair in front of the door for protection. We followed the dire on the door and the house book. We checked in on Friday. Submitted questions and asked for help on VRBO and via the texted number that had been corresponding with me. Sunday someone responded. I even sent a video to 2 places. On Sunday mid-morning I was told “we will send someone soon.” No one ever can. I followed up 2 more times and no one ever responded. Finally, there was a tropical depression that went into Mexico which cause a lot of wind and rain. Never once did anyone call or reach out to us. It would have been nice had they reached out to check on us and/or advised us to if we should leave or how we could have helped protect their home. This just struck us as odd.

Don't rent a home that is managed by Ryson vacation rentals

An hour before check-in time I noticed a man seating in the driveway of the home I was about to check into. I had family already 2 doors down. When I spoken with him he said he was there to replace/fix light bulbs I never saw him enter the home. And sure enough 3 of the 5 living room light were out when we checked in. The next day the kitchen ceiling light stopped working

Great location and comfortable

The house was beautiful, located super close to the beach and the beds were very comfortable. My only complaint was there were hardly any supplies for us. There was not enough toilet paper to last our week's stay nor dishwasher pods. No sponges so we could at least hand wash dishes and no laundry detergent. There was also no pantry items like coffee filters/ salt and pepper or spices, etc.

Needs significant updates

Great location, but the property itself is very dated and needs an update. Carpets and living area furniture were very worn and felt dirty. Have stayed at other rentals in this area that were substantially better. Not worth the cost. Would not stay at this property again.

Lovely home in Pirates beach

We had a great stay at Sommervilla for a short 4 day getaway to Pirates Beach. The house was perfectly clean and tidy when we arrived. The kitchen is very well stocked and had everything we were looking for. The house is decorated in a lovely, cozy way, and there was plenty of room for our family of 5. We would stay here again for sure. The only things I can comment on that weren't great was that the view of the sea is very limited (can maybe see a sliver of sea from a corner of the decks), and the outdoor shower water pressure was very low. Otherwise, it is a sweet home that has been cared for by the owners in a great neighborhood. It's a short 2 block walk to the beach, and the neighborhood of Pirates Beach is always family friendly and not packed. We had plenty of space to be socially distanced on the beach.

Loved our stay

We liked the openness of the living space. The whole family could be together. Master suite was lovely. Great place to celebrate a birthday and watch the Astros win!

Beautiful home! Great location

spacious, comfortable, close to beach

We liked the location because Pirates Beach is quiet and we had the beach (almost) to ourselves. The beach is a two blocks from house so it's close enough to let the tweens go back and forth on their own. The house has plenty of deck spaces and living area. The kitchen was very well furnished and large enough for the cook and several helpers.
