First time using Vrbo and it was a great experience. It was nice to be out in the woods with limited electronics and distractions. It reminded me of when we had a cabin like that in woods in near hometown growing up. Beautiful views and comfy environment. Would come back to it again next year for the Flaming Foliage Festival with my family.

Weekend getaway!

This spacious cabin was just perfect for a weekend getaway. Very clean and well appointed and the owner Rocco is a good communicator. We would definitely book again!

Beautiful Riverside cabin

We spent a rainy weekend here for a nearby trail challenge. It was great to have a warm dry place. The cabin was well stocked for cooking and hanging out. My favorite part was the fire ring and wood for a fire.

Family Fun Getaway

Excellent updatedl cabin on the water that is comfortable & peaceful. We enjoyed every minute of our stay either canoeing, fishing, or playing horseshoes, this cabin has it all! The Lions Den icecream-restaurant down the road was an added treat when in need for something sweet! Thank you for an epic getaway.

Lovely cabin overlooking river

This wooden cabin was perfect for our small family. It was well equpped for cooking. We brought water for drinking/cooking but the owner also provided it We came after the heavy rain so the access to the river was hard for us, the ground was very wet on the shore.

Quiet and Relaxing

This is my second visit to this property and we will certainly return. Great location with a ton of privacy and amazing view. The cabin is clean and comfortable. Neighboring towns and area has plenty of amenities. The host if friendly and accommodating. Highly recommended.

My husband and I wanted to take our grandkids camping, but the thought of us sleeping in a tent was not that appealing to us at our age. The kids ranged from 8-15. We decided to rent this ultra private home on the river. The view was absolutely amazing. The entire area was beautiful. The house was also beautiful inside. It has an open floor plan with the bathroom being the only room with a door. It was large enough and spread out enough that we had plenty of room for all of us. The kitchen was full of dishes, pots, pans, and everything we needed. We had forgotten ketchup, and there was even a new bottle of ketchup in a cupboard. It seems the owner had thought of everything! There was a large TV with a selection of videos. The home was very clean and comfortable. There was a canoe to use as well. My husband and grandkids really enjoyed fishing. We brought games to play, but found that there was a lot of games already there. I saw some games for younger kids, but we didn't really go through them so I can't say what other games there are for and older group. We had fires and overall a fantastic time together. There was a pizza shop and Dollar General 15 minutes away. We got pizza one of the nights and everyone loved it. No one wanted to leave. We've already reserved dates in October. I'm betting the fall foliage is stunning there. We are really looking forward to going back! Thank you, Rocco!!

Get away with friends

Great location on the river. I would recommend bringing drinking water as the property has well water that has that sinature sulfur smell. The coffee maker only supplies 2 cups at atime. Cool area with magnificent hiking. We thoroughly enjoyed our time. Thanks!

Had a wonderful weekend at this cottage although we had a lot of rain. Beautiful View of the river. Very well stocked with anything you may need. Only negative was it was very muddy, pretty much calf deep to get down to the water. As there has been weeks of rain lately though this is probably not normally the case. The home also had no outdoor water faucet/ hose but thankfully my son had brought a 5 gallon bucket with so we could fill it in the cottage and bring it outside to wash muddy feet before going inside. A great place to relax and unwind with the family.

Great Property

Beautiful Property water was gorgeous and the property owner was very helpful, Directions were spot on and the seclusion was amazing, Nothing but you and nature out there. A couple small gripes about having to take your own trash with you leaving etc. But, thats really not that big of a deal. The stairs were a bit of a Hike (Hauling 7 Kayaks/Canoes up them was a bit difficult) and right at the water could not get the flies to stop biting at certain times Might have just been a bad week for them.

The house was nice, very unique cabin with a lot of detail on the woodwork. The view was beautiful. Access to the river wasn’t great especially for kayaks/boats. That was not a surprise as other reviews stated that. The air conditioner did not keep the house cool. It kept freezing and shutting down even when we set the temperature over 70 degrees as instructed. We encountered an ant issue in and around the house. We kept all of our food in the refrigerator to keep the ants away. You couldn’t leave any food on the counters , even for a short period of time before the ants made their way over to it. The driveway needs some work. It’s very steep and covered in gravel and hard to navigate. The area is very nice and this place has a lot of potential.

The goods an bads

Pros: Beautful deck view and location with lots of bears around. Convenient canoe launch 4 miles up river for atleast an easy access to the river on 1 end. Seen 2 bears in and around the water on our evening float. Caught a good bit of small bass Cons: lots of steep steps to get kayaks up and down. Alot of falling hazards for toddlers between the steep drop of the deck, and some of the wooden railings inside the house. Its a good spot for adults an grown kids. Not so much for toddlers without constant worry. Microwave stopped working the first night. No cell service incase of an emergency. And there was quite a bit of ants in the kitchen area Had a big bear beside the firepit the first morning of the trip

It seems the breaker popped to the microwave. No contact was made during or after the stay found out on the clean up. Yes there are 50 so stairs but it beats going up and down the steep bank. My children both have grown up going to the cottage it does take a watchful eye. Wildlife abounds in the area and that does include bears. Last we get great service with Verizon and T mobile. If you have another carrier I do not know.

Just OK

There is no one around. This is GREAT!! Long steps to the water, not so good. Ants, big ones, but not too many. House water never got hot, just warm. House water also stinks like sulfur. We did enjoy ourselves - myself, wife, and two teenage girls. We recommend a trip to Hyner View to watch the sunset. Kayaking the river, 3 miles, took forever as the river runs slowly. I did fish from a kayak in the "cove" area and caught several small, small mouth bass. River was very low, I could walk the whole way across if I wanted to. Cottage is nice, no wi-fi which was OK for me. There is NO privacy inside, so don't expect any. I enjoyed getting up every morning and having coffee and watching the river flow. OH, we did see a bald eagle land down at the waters edge. I tried to get close to get pictures, but you know how that is. We thank you for the use of the cottage. Unfortunately this is not a place where we would return.

Great cabin. We didn’t see a single person while we were there. The kids caught some small bass right in front of the property. There was a lot of mud to get through when getting to the water but there was a hose on the side of the cabin for washing up. There was a canoe there that we used though the current was too strong for us to go far. Kids loved having fire every night and the loft. Town was nearby with a walmart and restaurants. We enjoyed our time and the communication with the host was excellent.

Weekend getaway

Clean, cute and well appointed cabin. Make sure you bring your smart TV app logins if that’s important to you. Great location to float on river. Close to Hyner View and Good Neighbor Craft House.
