A peaceful & private Hood canal stay. Start the morning by taking in the fiery sunrise. You will be in awe as the colors of the sunset paint the sky over the water view. Great location for hiking, scuba diving, boating, fishing, crabbing and more. Near Staircase at Lake Cushman, Olympic National forest and many Canal beaches. Large home Coffee, tea, spices & pantry food, hotcake mix, granola, oatmeal, A full kitchen,
Bedroom has large private deck with views. Things to do in the area, crabbing, fishing, shrimping, hiking, many waterfalls to see, Olympic national forest, hurricane ridge ski area, lena lake caves, Walker mountain, Mt Elenor, Mt Rose, scuba diving, kayaking, swimming, shopping, wineries and more. 1 hour to Port Townsend, 30 minutes to Lake cushman.
1 private bedroom with a king bed. common area has a queen and 2 single beds and 2 couches. Highchair and double airbed available upon request

Me and my friends had a girls trip up in Washington and we had simply the best time. If you are a nature lover, this place is definitely for you. It felt fairly secluded and private and the view of the water was so dreamy. We also did some bird watching from the deck and enjoyed several trails and waterfalls that were nearby. The only thing we wished for was for more time. I will definitely be coming back again!

We had a wonderful stay. Patty was excellent in communicating with us and attended to all our needs. The place was very comfortable and wonderfully decorated inside and out. We really appreciated all the extra amenities that we left for our enjoyment.

Me and my husband just returned from our amazing vacation at this beautiful gem by the sea. Patty Sue made sure we had all the information we needed and even some extra tips for things to check out in the area. Parking was spacious and easy, and using the electronic doorpad for entry was a breeze.This rental is the top floor of a house, and there are stairs which was perfectly fine for us. I love that the rental has a private entrance and wraparound deck with table and chairs, grill and hot tub. We had many of our meals on the deck to watch the ocean sunset and birds. Everything was clean, spacious and well maintained. It really is a beautiful home - I felt at home as soon as I walked in. The king sized bed is in the bedroom and the other beds are essentially added next to the living room, not in their own room.I loved having a well-stocked kitchen and bathroom. We had a night in Silverdale before coming to Brinnon, so we grocery shopped there before coming but the nearest grocery store is in Hoodsport. I really enjoyed the many extra touches to make our stay even better. We stayed for over a week and it flew by! There are several gorgeous places to hike and kayak just minutes away. This is a truly unique and amazing part of the country, and this rental helped us make the most of it. We hope to make this a yearly destination. Quick note: This is an area of the country where all wheel drive is a necessity in my opinion, ideally an SUV or crossover with AWD.

Quiet and cozy

We had a great time staying here. The view was beautiful, we could hear the seals from the water, and had a nice little bonfire. It was easy to find and had we were able to drive around to some cool spots.

A wonderful place for peace and quiet with an beautiful view of Hood Canal and nature activity. The apartment is well stocked with amenities and charmingly furnished and decorated. The two lounge chairs in front of the sliding door with the view were heavenly - like watching the world from a cloud. We look forward to coming back here again!

Home away from home

This place was paradise. It was so comfortable and quite. The fire pit was such a relaxing place to chill and enjoy some quality time together. The dogs loved the fully fenced yard. It is super close to Hamma Hamma Oyster saloon and farm store. We really enjoyed our stay and would go back in a heartbeat.

PREFECT VRBO WITH BEAUTIFUL VIEW!!!!

I loved the entire VRBO experience. How easy it was to get in and out of the property, the gorgeous views of the water, the beautifully decorated property, the hot tub, the fire pit (smores kit as well), the wind chimes, all was so perfectly peaceful and beautiful. Also, everything you could possibly need. The only criticism...there wasn't any plain salt & pepper. If you're planning on cooking those are 2 spices that really should be out on the counter...but everything else you could need was available.

Wow!

Host is a special kind of person. Very funny, as can be seen by all the little funny notes around. These notes were all incredibly helpful with how things work, what to do if they don't, etc. The spa was used almost daily, and the location is amazing! Beautiful views of the canal. It IS a bit of a drive for any groceries but, the house is well stocked with what you'd need for a few days. We stayed a week and had a grocery run to Shelton since the ones closer are higher prices. Anyway, the yard is huge, I just wish the weather (fire weather included) was more cooperative to allow for a fire in the fire pit (also HUGE). We will definitely stay again some time, and we all highly recommend this place. You won't be disappointed at all! Thank you so much for your allowing us to rent your property for our vacation! It was absolutely amazing!

Interesting

Information on unit was not accurate. Just a lot of stuff in the unit which was pretty small to start with. It would be extremely difficult to sleep eight. ONE bedroom with additional dorm like beds in dining/living room. Two twins, one double and couch. We made it do with five. Beautiful view and wrap around deck. Hot tub was small but maintained. Stairs were pretty steep. The FEES are very high and it would be nice if VRBO would make them more transparent. We’ve stayed in many VRBO’s and owners have gotten creative on charging fees . So beware.

Hi Linda, thank you for your feedback. I have updated the information to be more accurate. I always ask guests to let me know if there is anything I can do to make their stay more enjoyable. If I had known you needed more space I would have made adjustments for you. You must be referring to VRBO fees because I only have a cleaning fee which I believe is disclosed up front.

Too Remote

This location, although the view was nice was just too much out of the way. There was no close grocery store or any good restaurants close by The property was old and not as clean as I would have liked. The front lock code did not work after we arrived and we had to crawl through the window to get back in as instructed by the property manager, and then from that point forward we were instructed to leave a back slider patio open when we were not there. There were no real check out instructions anywhere so was not really sure what to do about trash. The drive in to the location was a little seedy too, a few old and what seemed like abandoned trailer homes. I do like privacy but this rental was not what I expected. We checked out a day early due to the remote location, as we did not think we could make our flight home as the airport was 2.5 hours away. We just did not know the area very well, so it was difficult to plan a better location.

Nice 1 bedroom loft but not what we expected

My spouse and I needed a place to work for several days while touring the west coast. This place appeared to have the privacy and work space we needed along with beautiful views. The listing described the space as an entire house, 2 bedroom, 1 bath, with garage parking available which turned out to be inaccurate. It was a well appointed 1 bedroom loft apartment with extra beds in the main living area and no actual workspace but the dining room table. There is a full-time occupant that lives in the unit below so privacy is not great. Also, the AC is only a portable unit that only semi-cools the main area. Thankfully, it wasn't super hot except for several hours of the day, and we were able to get a good breeze through the apartment. One other thing to note is there is no screen for the patio door in the main area which is the only way to get a breeze through the apartment so there were bugs that came in. While the views were incredible, the inaccuracy of the listing led us to choose this place which did not suit our purpose and needs for working. The host was a bit slow on communications which led us to solve a couple of issues on our own and caused some stress upon check-in as we were not confident we would receive the needed info in time for our arrival. Overall, a nice place, but the listing should accurately reflect what you are paying for. We would have chosen to stay elsewhere to make our work days more comfortable and to get the privacy we wanted.

Hi Ronda, I See there must have been some confusion about the listing. after reading your review, I logged into the dashboard to check on the information. I does state that is is a 1 bedroom with additional beds in the common area. I did add the same information in additional areas to help future guests avoid confusion. Here is the parking description copied from VRBO "FREE parking on the property. There is a concrete driveway for 2 cars or an RV and a gravel parking area for guests. The garage is not accessible to guests" The house is located on top of a hill and the tree line of a forest which we share with all the creatures of nature. There are bound to be a few guests. I have only ever had a bee or fly come in but they go right back out. There is a desk and chair provided with a power outlet for workspace in the living room. The upper unit has a very private entrance and yard. The wrap around deck provides complete outdoor private space which cannot be seen by the tenant. I sent you the check in information on the morning of your arrival as I do with all guests. I am sorry you felt that that wasn't adequate to calm your anxiety about arriving.

I am a mother of 4 adult children and 7 grandbabies, foster parent of many throughout the years. I love the Hood Canal Area because I spent my summers and every Easter with my grandmother on the canal. We harvested oysters, went shrimping and crabbing and played on the beach. I love how preserved and natural the area still is today.

Enjoy the tankless hot water system so you wont run out of hot water!
Explore the whimsical touches around the property. Maybe you'll be lucky enough to visit when it's its harvest time of Fig, apple and cherry trees.

I love the Loft apartment with it's own Private Balcony in the king bedroom. It has the most breathtaking view.
The grounds have many whimsical creative additions. You will notice a dolphin swimming in the garden near the firepit, and a bat house. The hummingbirds are abundant in this area so enjoy our visitors.
