What a gorgeous old house. We enjoyed reading the past entries in the guestbook there. There was one small issue with a smoke alarm and it was remedied literally within minutes. Thank you to the owners and the management company!

Absolutely incredible stay. The kitchen was fully stocked with anything you could ever need, the living areas were full of history, and the bedrooms were clean and comfortable. Cannot recommend enough!

We really enjoyed our stay here and appreciated the quirkiness of the house. We especially loved the close proximity to the beach and the well stocked kitchen supplies. We had some issues with power shutting off to one of the bedrooms, but the hosts were quick to respond and sort out the problem.

This property was perfect for us. A ton of room for the amount of people and the common areas fit us all comfortably. The host, family, and neighbors were all very welcoming and sweet with great recommendations. Check in was a breeze. The town was so cute and easy distance to any other areas we wanted to explore. The house was incredibly charming. All 10 us loved it especially my wife. (It was her birthday that we went up there to celebrate). The owners gave us a tour and provided a rich history of the home and their family and they made sure that we had everything we needed Everyone wants to go back again!!

Great for history and antique buffs

This home has much of the original trappings of its 150+ year history: original family photos, antique furniture, fixtures, etc. The kitchen and bathrooms are fully updated, but otherwise this is a perfect rental for those who are interested in an authentic Victorian experience. It was spacious and great for our girlfriend's getaway weekend.

Historic Home Base

Duck Cove Pond was the perfect home base for my group of 11’s lowkey bachelorette weekend. The house is absolutely beautiful and well kept. It was immaculately clean, fully stocked for cooking, and roomy enough for all of us to be comfortable. The AC units kept us cool in hot humid weather. North Kingstown was a great location — easy to get to Providence, Newport, beaches, wineries, etc. We loved exploring Wickford Village and taking an early morning walk to the town beach. Check in was easy and Nancy and Bill even greeted us and shared some history of the home. Communication was a little slower leading up to our trip, but Heather accommodated an early check in and was super responsive when us girls inevitably blew a fuse. Bill even stopped by minutes later to make sure we got it sorted out. Really can’t say enough about this house, the location, and the hospitality! Thank you for sharing your family home with us for the weekend!

Memorial Day Weekend Visit

Our family of 16 tremendously enjoyed our stay in this very beautiful, very historic home. We were greeted upon arrival by the owners, who gave us a tour around and filled us in on the history of the house. This house had plenty of room for everyone, with 9 bedrooms and a library that could sleep another 2 in a pinch. We greatly appreciated the huge dining room with many chairs, which could have comfortably fit 20 people. Our kids loved talking to the life-sized bust in the hallways and playing games in the parlour. The adults appreciated the well equipped kitchen and plentiful dishes, glasses and silverware. The owners have many beautiful pictures and cabinets filled with china, but do not seem concerned about breakage, which I feared might occur with all the kids (luckily nothing broke). The mattresses were EXTREMELY comfortable! The showers worked well and the heating system also worked well. There were air conditioners available, but we didn't need them. The owners were super flexible about our departure time and let us linger a few extra hours on the front screened porch. Overall, a wonderful stay. We hope to come back in the future.

The house was fantastic! Bigger than we thought, more rooms than expected. The temperature was fine once we turned on the air units in the top floor bedrooms. The kitchen was very well stocked with dishes etc. No issues there at all. Perfect! The beds were fabulous! Our visiting Danish cousins said they had never slept so well! We had two issues: the door code never worked for us so we had to ring for help to enter the house. We were so nervous about being locked out we didn’t lock the door when we were away. This made us a nervous about leaving all our belongings in an unlocked house. But nothing untoward happened. We will say that Bob was extremely prompt in responding to our remote calls for assistance. Thank you, Bob!One small note: The toilet paper should be better stocked. We were a large group and we ended up having to buy more paper. (A bit of an emergency!). Not a huge deal, but worth mentioning for future guests.But we LOVED the house and plan on renting it again! It is beautiful, atmospheric, and extremely comfortable. We enjoyed the remote area- perfect for our grandchildren to run around outside! We also enjoyed the grill outside- we had a delightful barbecue one evening. Also, the little extra fridge in the pantry was super useful! I’m in love with the gorgeous butler pantry off the dining room! That copper sink is . We definitely recommend this house to large family groups! You will be sad to drive away at the end of your stay! (I certainly was )

Historic place in every sense of the word.

First I would like to say Heather was accommodating and quick to reply. 5☆ for her. The house sits back on a dirt drive with a semi view of an inlet which is nice. It is about a mile + to town. House is fully equipped with dishes, and kitchen items you may need. There were only 4 of us staying so we had plenty of room with 3 bathrooms. Beds were comfortable and house was clean. Kudos to cleaners as I can't imagine the challenges to cleaning this house. Whether you believe it or not the house is definitely haunted. I had two things thrown off the dresser in the night. But unfortunately I feel I need to say this on behalf of others considering a stay here. The musty smell is overwhelming. It hits you as soon as you walk in the door. It makes sense as the house is from 1872 and has no central AC. . Some of the rooms, like all bedrooms, have portable AC units which work, but the one in the 4 poster bedroom was very loud. The saving grace was the screened in porch in front, which is the only good place to sit as a group. The inside furniture is old and musty. When I sat on the chaise in my room to put on shoes, I sank about a foot down. I would not choose this place again, which I don't like to give a bad review but this museum of a house is not a place for a relaxing vacation. item
