Welcome to Durango Valley Lodge—a spacious retreat designed for families and friends to reconnect. Whether you’re exploring Galena, visiting the Field of Dreams, skiing, touring local breweries and wineries, or simply relaxing by the fire, you’ll find plenty of room to spread out and unwind. With 6 total bedrooms (4 being king-sized suites with kitchenette and oversized bathrooms complete with soaking tubs), multiple gathering spaces, and peaceful surroundings, the Lodge offers the perfect balance of comfort, privacy, and convenience. Second time renting from Megan, another family gathering for a funeral. I could not ask for a better host: prompt in replying, helpful, understanding. The property itself is amazing: plenty of room, well kept, beautifully appointed, and well stocked.

Great place!

This was a beautiful home that was perfect for our group of 10. We were in the area for a baseball tournament in Dyersville and the location was great. Wish we could have stayed longer. Would definitely stay here again if we come back to the area!

Great Stay

This is the second time staying at the property and it did not disappoint. The house is very large, spacious and a cozy cabin feel. All the rooms are suites which is great for multiple families. Home is clean, owners are very friendly and responsive.

Lodge stay

The property was beautiful. Lots of space, all king suites were wonderful. Lots of fun things to check out locally in the area in Dubuque and even Galena.

Great Cabin!

Beautiful cabin! We stayed with my large family for a long weekend. Check in was simple, and the local property manager was great to work with when a minor issue popped up. The cabin was very clean and well maintained. We had a very comfortable stay and hope to come back again!

Trip with toddlers

We traveled with four families, 6 children under the age of 5. There was plenty of space and activities for the kids. Highly recommend.

We loved everything about this house! The suites are great, kitchen is well stocked, plenty of room for our family vacation. We also loved the location, we took day trips to Galena and Dyersville. We enjoyed outdoor games in the yard, went to the golf/mini-golf course, as well as other attractions in Dubuque. We appreciate the owners attention to details and the pristine condition of the home. The best VRBO house we have stayed in.

Amazing House

Stayed with a few families for a Field of Dreams tournament. The house was perfect! Having multiple primary bedrooms gave each family their own space and there were many areas to gather and hang out together! Would definitely recommend and would stay here again!!

Family vacation

The lodge was the perfect size for our group of 10. The location is remote but we loved it as it was a relaxing space after our outings that included golf, hiking and sightseeing. The owner Megan answered a couple questions promptly. We had an excellent vacation at an excellent property!

Dreamy Holiday Weekend

Our family loved this dream holiday getaway. The modern cabin mansion is off the rails as far as location, design, and all of the comforts of home. We will be returning again next year. Thank you Megan !

Beautiful house

This house was PERFECT for our girls getaway. The rooms were so spacious and the 6 bathrooms were so ideal! The house is beautifully decorated and had everything we needed! Megan was a very responsive host! Would definitely recommend!

Property was as listed. Great privacy for each of the suites. Great main room for all of us to gather. Kitchen was well stocked. Overall a great experience.

Beautiful log cabin

We had a great time at this cabin. The inside was very nice and clean. The only negatives were, with the ac running the basement rooms were cold and the upstairs was quite warm, and the outside was somewhat overgrown/weedy.

Beautiful Location

Really great spot, with a unique layout. Very clean and the host was extremely helpful and communicative. The only thing we'd change would be a few more dishes and other things as we had 9 adults and ran out of stuff like that often.

Owners Mike and Megan permanently reside in Florida, but they’ll always call the Midwest ‘home’. Mike grew up on Minnesota’s lakes and Megan is from Dubuque’s rolling bluffs on the Mighty Mississippi.

Mike and Megan were drawn to the Lodge after their son was born and wanting to be closer to family. On their first drive up the winding gravel road squeezed between trees, they knew they found a special place. Deer greet you in the early morning hours, cardinals, blue jays, and woodpeckers make appearances throughout the day, and coyotes howl in the distance as you doze off.

Mike and Megan can’t wait to share the Lodge with you. Kick up your feet, quiet your mind, and enjoy your favorite beverage with family and friends. You’re home in Iowa.
