The property was what I expected, older home, a bit run down, etc. That didn’t bother me. What we didn’t like was insufficient bedding and towels for the stay for our family. The house was not super clean either with cobwebs, etc., some of the window shades missing as well. Just a little more care and hospitality could make this a much better stay for the next guest.

It was a dump. Dirty sticky floors. Lack of towels, bedding did not appear to be clean. Even my 11 and 14 year old grandkids thought the place was “gross”. Would not recommend this listing to anyone.

We encourage guests to reach out during their stay to resolve issues like these. Guest did not reach out during her stay to try to resolve any of the issues mentioned. We have happily brought extra towels and linens up for guests when requested and have brought the cleaner back to resolve other issues.

The owner was awesome to work with. There were lots of touches to fit with the name Fairy Bowery. The artwork and decorations put the location in liminal space. The Air Conditioning was able to keep up with Nauvoo summer (in fact we had to scale it back to keep from freezing.) We were there for a family reunion, and all of the family that saw our location and accommodations was jealous. Next time we have a reunion in Nauvoo, we'll have to reserve it at least 6 months in advance to keep my family from grabbing it from us. The location was great- half a mile north of the temple, a mile from the state park, just a couple miles from all of the historical sites.

The property is older and many of the fixtures and appliances seem to have been doing their job for 40 years. The apartment was clean enough and we had a nice stay.

Check in was easy, location was great, and when we needed sheets and a wasp problem taken care of, communication with the host was prompt. Smelled of cats, but otherwise it worked out pretty well for our family.

Great Location

We had a great stay in the Fairy Bowery! On the website it has a single bed listed in the bedroom, we were happy to see it was a bunk bed! We had a great stay and the host was very accommodating.

Although the bowery was warm, there was no thermostat that we could use to adjust the heat. The stairs were steeper than the picture seemed to show. But, overall, it was what we expected.

This is an older building so the thermostat is in another apartment but can be adjusted if the guest requests. I have happily adjusted the temperature for guests. I do my best to try and be as clear as possible in the photos and description.

Great place

Our family enjoyed our stay at the fairy Bowery. The location was perfect for our visit. We really didn’t spend much time there, but each night when we returned we had a great nights sleep. Plenty of beds, air mattresses, blankets, etc. We loved that it had two full bathrooms for our family of six.

Excellent place to stay

Our stay in Nauvoo was absolutely wonderful, thanks to Rebecca and her exceptional apartment. Rebecca was incredibly informative and proactive in her communications before our stay, making everything seamless and stress-free. The apartment itself was immaculate and exceeded our expectations in every way. It had everything we needed, which truly made our time in Nauvoo easy and enjoyable. I highly recommend staying here—Rebecca has created a fantastic experience for her guests!
