Tucked away in the peaceful Whalehead Beach community, The Lucky Viking is the perfect retreat for multi-family and multi-generational vacations you’ll remember forever. Spacious, thoughtfully designed, and packed with amenities, this home blends relaxation, accessibility, and fun for guests of all ages.

Pets welcome (fee applies).

Enjoy resort-style outdoor living featuring a large cabana pool bar with television, a dining area and mini-fridge, around a private pool. Inside, you’ll love the elevator, a wheelchair-accessible queen bedroom (second floor), and expansive gathering spaces designed for comfort and connection.

New TV and lighting at the pool cabana bar!

Linens and bath towels are provided (please bring beach towels). Beds are not made; clean sheets are bundled on each bed.

Overall inside of the house was great! Plenty rooms and loved that each had its own bathroom for our group. Kitchen was equipped and plenty of linens and towels! The trees were more overgrown in front and on side of house near the porches so blocked some of the ocean view while hanging in hot tub. The cabana was an awesome bonus to the pool area just recommend it gets a little more TLC so it is more inviting. Grill was great! Mini fridge in cabana great! Overall area needed a good broom sweep of cobwebs but other than that it was great spot to be under while small storms rolled thru quickly!

Our biggest problem is that the electronic lock at carport would not work. I did not knowthere was also a lock at top of front steps. I got in because a sliding door was not locked by a previous guest or visitor. We sat outside 2 hours trying to get door open before I found the sliding glass door open. It is a short distance to beach which is great, and pool area is fantastic. The oven cooks unevenly if you are toasting English muffins. There are sand spurs on the perimeter of yard, so look for those. That would be painful if a guest or pup got into them. Lots of things to do!

Great house and location everything was perfect other than only a few bikes were in working condition and we had to pull weeds and overgrown foliage to use the charcoal grill. Over all really enjoyed our stay!

Had a great time. Huge house with terrific amenities. The elevator was a big help with my Mother in Law. Pool, hot tub all fantastic. We have rented many houses and this is by far the best one. Would rent again!

We had a great stay at the Lucky Viking with friends and family! The place has everything you need - pool, outdoor cabana bar, two grills, elevator, pool table, short walk to beach, and lots of beds and baths! Host is very accommodating and responsive.

We enjoyed our stay . Easy to get to the beach. Interior of the home was very comfortable, plenty of room and areas for privacy. Convenient to get to the beach.none of the bikes were in working order, would have loved to be able to have used them. All and all relaxing , fun time.

The outside areas of the house needed some work. The bar area was not clean. There were tons of cobwebs all around the bar. All areas around the fence had leaves and debri. Several weeds growing in cracks around the pool area. There was a garbage can full of old rain water. The description said the driveway can hold 6 large SUVs. It may, but we had difficulty juggling a truck and two mid size SUVs in and out. Luckily we don’t have young children because the playground area was not nice. It was weedy and dirty-neglected for several weeks.That being said, the inside was clean and well kept. The amenities inside were adequate for any needs. The elevator was a plus for our older members. Overall, we had a good experience and the house was adequate for our needs. If a little work was done cleaning and sprucing up the outside I would call it a great stay.

Amazing family time

Our family went there for my big birthday. The property was everything they said. The house was great for our group. The location was spectacular. I can’t tell you how much we enjoyed the stay and I would recommend to everyone

Beach House Vacay

Check in was seamless. House was as described. Owner was responsive to a couple of items and took care of concerns quickly without impacting our enjoyment of the property. Pool area was great and cleaned during our stay. Highly recommend. A little far from the beach but the bikes were a nice feature. Overall, great place!

Great house!

This house was absolutely perfect for our family of 13! It was clean, spacious, had a very clean well-stocked kitchen, and the pool area was amazing! The walk to the beach was a little on the long side, but totally worth it. The host was easy to reach and very responsive to our needs. We would definitely stay here again!

Amazing Home!

The Lucky Viking was a wonderful choice on the Outer Banks for our group of friends to get together. A short walk to the beach, close to shops and restaurants. The home is amazing with a pool, outdoor bar, hot tube and almost every amenity you could ask for. We had a wonderful time and enjoyed every minute of our visit. Amy was a wonderful host and responded timely to every inquiry.
