The WestWood Shed • Home-Office & Vacation Suites: a relaxed work space for meetings & entertaining your visitors with a separated bedroom within your Suite.

We're located on a quiet street; 1 block away from a busy street full of great restaurants & bars. There are 2 grocery stores less than a half mile, & GEODIS Park-Nashville Fairgrounds is 1 mile away. The City of Berry Hill (inside of Nashville) has the hottest real estate in Tennessee — visit us and you'll know why. Location.

A Private Suite — Living Room-Office with Restroom; with Keyed Bedroom, Bath & Laundry for Additional Privacy; An Ideal place for Work & Vacation

Zoned Mixed-Use; allows one to openly conduct business from your Suite. Also, there are 2 parking slots per Suite for a guest and visitor.

For your visitors, Suite #2 has a large private deck, an office-living room with a visitors restroom, & open to the kitchen.

Lock away your private area — a large, 4' x 8' keyed-pocket door separates Suite #2's office-living room from the private living space. The bedroom has an additional TV, a separate full bathroom, a walk-in closet, and a laundry closet with a washer-dryer and more storage. This separation allows you to keep your personal belongings, such as laundry, toothbrush, towels, etc., closed away from your visitors.

Your large private deck overlooks GEODIS Park (1 mile) & downtown Nashville (3 miles). Swing in the shade & enjoy the sunsets.

Each Suite has a keypad on the front office-living room door, with interior keyed doors to lock-off the bedroom, & shower/laundry area. This allows you to share your office-living room with clients and co-workers, while blocking access to your personal space. At night you may deadbolt lock the front door for added security, & block access from use of the keypad.

We wish to give you your privacy and maintain ours. However, we're next door (or, our on-call assistant is a few blocks away), and available for urgent matters if they occur.

There is a Shared Patio Area in front of Deck #1 that extends beside the Tree Boxes — the area along the string of lights. If smoking, and smoke bothers others on your private deck, the space by the Tree Boxes is a nice area to get way from the building to smoke.

Also, we're here to assist with additional parking when needed. Parties over 6 must be prearranged with owners for appropriate parking, and ensure there is no over-lapping events with other guests & outdoor spaces. Events must be prearranged with owners; Berry Hill Police will enforce the maximum visitors of 20 per Suite. The Berry Hill City neighbors are happy to have our own police department; they patrol our community, know us all, & work with us to keep you safe.

The WestWood Shed is on a quiet street of converted home-offices, zoned Mixed-Use which allows you to run a business from your Suite. We're one block from a busy street full of great restaurants & bars; 1 mile from Geodis Park/Nashville Fairgrounds — home of the Nashville Soccer Club, Flea Market & Raceway. The City of Berry Hill is inside of Nashville, with our own Police Force who are responsive, prompt, & patrol regularly. We're ~3 miles away from downtown Nashville.

Ride shares (Uber & Lift) are readily available. We're ~3 miles away from Downtown Nashville. You can usually find a rental scooter set along the streets, or there are several rental bicycle racks in town — one close by at Sevier Park on Kirkland Ave. Downtown there are several guided sightseeing tours, via bus, trolly, tractor & trailer, helicopter, party bus, golf cart, horse & carriage, and more. There are often art gallery & tasting "crawls" — guided walking tours. Parking in Berry Hill is limited, but available. Downtown parking lots & garages fill up during large city events, but slots are usually available. When downtown, for your safety, park in a well lit area near busy streets where other people around.

Drip coffee makers are provided with 2 large, sealed coffee packages — Maxwell House & Cafe Bustelo. Which ever package you open, you may take it home with you if you'd like, open packages will be thrown out. There is also a kettle with green tea bags, black tea bags, & and a few hot chocolates.

Below the kitchen sinks you'll find dish cleaning supplies — dish soap & dishwasher pods. The dish brush if used, goes into the dishwasher when you leave, and the sponge will be thrown away.

There is a washer & dryer in your Suite with a few washer soap pods.
Events of 6+ guests & visitors must be pre-arranged with owners.
Maximum 20 visitors.
Full text to below ordinances are posted in each suite; available upon request; and enforced by the City of Berry Hill Police.
Short-Term Rental Property (STRP) occupants shall abide by all applicable Berry Hill ordinances and provisions of the Berry Hill Municipal Code, including without limitation:
a. Provisions regarding Offenses Against the Peace & Quiet
11-301. Disturbing the peace.
11-302. Anti-noise regulations. Quiet Hours of 9:00 P.M. and 7:00 A.M
b. Provisions regarding Trespassing, Malicious Mischief & Interference with Traffic
11-601. Trespassing.
[ No parking on neighboring lots without permission. Each Suite is allotted 2 parking slots on the WestWood Shed's property; any additional parking needed must be pre-arranged with the WestWood Shed management. ]
11-602. Trespassing on trains.
11-603. Malicious mischief.
11-604. Interference with traffic.
c. Provisions regarding Obscenity, Morals
11-801. Disorderly houses.
11-802. Immoral conduct. [ Pornography Prohibited ]
11-803. Indecent or improper exposure or dress.
11-804. Window peeping.
d. Provisions regarding Refuse & Trash Disposal
17-101. Unlawful disposition.
17-102. Storage and disposition of residential refuse.
17-103. Storage and disposition of commercial and industrial refuse.
17-104. Nuisances prohibited.
17-105. Abatement of nuisances.

The WestWood Shed — originally built in 1986 for Gaertner Cabinet Company's wood shop; Robert, a master craftsman & his wife Judy, a designer began renovating the ole' WoodSHOP into the WestWood SHED before the 2020 pandemic. Robert is a retiring high-end cabinet maker who wants to go fishing. He loves nature and he's ready to take a hike! Judy, his wife loves her work being a creative and will probably never stop marketing and developing new things, unless there's some great music playing. Together, they've created some interesting pieces of furniture and living spaces during their 30(+) years together. Their latest creation, the conversion of Robert's workshop, and they're inviting you into the ole' wood shop, to see the new chic WestWood Shed.

Both having worked from home offices for over 30 years, understood the convenience and need for these unique office designs, where your private living quarters remain locked way from your business patrons. Berry Hill's business district allows this unique home office experience, and the Gaertner's are happy to share it with you — a space to work & relax.

Three (3) of 4 apartments are VISITABLE — accessible for visitors in a wheelchair — wheelchair ramp, low entry threshold, with an accessible restroom. Apartment #3 is includes the most accessible space for over-night guests.

All apartments are designed with lockable bedroom & shower. Front office-living room, kitchen, and restroom are open to your visitors.

Many have said, "There's nothing else like it."
Each Suite is uniquely designed with workflow, comfortable living, and functionality in mind. During the renovation of this complex (and our lives), everything that was good was not thrown out and reused accordingly — old concrete footings reused as filler to build the wheelchair ramp; we've refinished sturdy chairs & still refinishing more; great antique stemware, it's beautiful and here to enjoy; our conference room chairs are now desk chairs in each Suite. Our motto: "Use It or Lose It!" So we've found "Use" for many things in spaces that work. This place is all about — workflow for working, comfort for living, & functionality.
