This place is cozy but was exactly what we needed for our stay. The bedroom and kitchen areas have A/C, and the living room/dining areas are screened with a great view! The owner had someone meet us at the car barge so we could follow them to the house. The pool area is shared, but we used it several times and were the only ones up there. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

This is our 3rd stay at James' place and it is by far the best value on the island. The view is spectacular. It is close enough to Cruz Bay to make going into town easy but far enough away to be quiet.

Laundry was convenient. Kitchen had everything you need for meal prep. Gas grill was great! King side bed was comfy.

Second time staying and we can’t imagine staying anywhere else. We love the location, the porch, the cold air conditioner at night - everything about the place. We love that we don’t have to go into downtown for dinner with the places that are about 5 minutes away. Great communication with host.

This one bedroom is one of two guest apartments on a large estate, located 3 or 4 miles from downtown Cruz Bay. It is an older accommodation that has been well maintained over the years. It has everything you will need for a pleasant stay. We were somewhat surprised to discover that the pool was not directly in front of the unit, but was shared with the other guest apartment and the main house. Sharing, however, was not a problem since the other tenants spent much of their time at one of the many beaches on St. John, none of which are close by. Be advised that you will need a Jeep or car to go to one of the well-stocked groceries, to the beach or to Coral Bay or East End. The unit’s spacious living room/screened porch has a comfortable sofa and upholstered chairs, plus an LED TV that streams lots of programming. The views from that room are great. Rendezvous Cottage is a nice place to spend your vacation.

Extremely responsive host and property manager. Allowed us to stay an extra day when our original flight was canceled and we arrived a day later. As mentioned in other reviews, new screens if the screened in room would be extremely helpful to keep bugs out.

This will be our St John go to. We loved the screened in living area for hanging out and the air conditioned bed room at night. Five minutes from Cruz Bay dining options but also several quieter very good dining options also about five minutes away the other direction.

Excellent communication and service from the host Scott. Villa was cleaned at a high level by the housekeeper which is not always the case at other villas. View, pool and other amenities were also excellent. Overall, they know what they are doing and I would rent there again.

The character of this cottage had my heart upon arrival. Love the uniqueness and style. Well appointed with what we needed to make our stay comfortable. Perfect place for a week of exploring St. John’s.

Great getaway

Wonderful affordable villa to get you relaxing on island time. Access to a beautiful pool and sun deck, great views of sunset and distant St Thomas lights at night. Easy drive to Cruz Bay or the NP beaches. The host is the best; friendly and welcoming!

Property was awesome! Pool was incredible. James and Michael were excellent hosts! Couldn’t ask for a better stay on St John. We will definitely be back to this property.

Perfect for what we needed…

The place had EVERYTHING one might need, from big sun hats, to a washer/dryer, and everything in between. It was close to town, but quiet (except for the rooster). We made breakfast every morning, enjoyed the sunsets from the terrace. It was not wicked fancy, but felt like home by the end of our trip.

Great Host

James was a great host and very accommodating. Nice cottage for 2. Pool and hot tub great. Good view and easy access to main road with a driveway you can turn around in without backing onto the road.

Excellent location

Property is very private while being just minutes from Cruz Bay. Home has everything you need for a great vacation. It feels like a tree house in the jungle. James met us at the ferry dock and showed us the way and made sure that we had everything we needed.

10 minutes from Cruz Bay where there are lots of shopping and food options. Easy enough to get to the north shore beaches. James is terrific. Very accommodating. Wonderful view of St. Thomas.

Cozy cottage

We stayed in the 1 bedroom cottage on the property which was below the main house with steps going up to the pool area.If it wasn’t for the roosters crowing at 4am I probably would have slept in more.I would definitely schedule another stay. Great private cottage with all the amenities.

Spectacular views

James' cottage was the perfect way to experience the natural beauty of St John for the first time. The views were amazing and the indoor/outdoor feeling of the living area made it even more special. It was close enough to town to make it convenient, but far enough to be quiet and peaceful. James made check in a breeze. We would definitely stay there again!
