Play outside in the large, fenced-in yard with your children and furry friends. Inside the house, guests can enjoy two separate living rooms. Cook inside in the Chef's kitchen, or grill outside on the beautiful patio. Located on Florida Mesa, ten minutes from the Durango Airport and five minutes from downtown Durango.

Mess View Retreat was a fantastic experience with a well stocked property.The only part the could have been improved was the HVAC. The whole property was being cooled by two portable ACs with a combined SACC rating that would barely suffice for one large room. The second level of the house never cooled below 80 degrees during our stay.

We felt the property was pretty good. The upstairs master suite and the kitchen are probably its best features. The downstairs area is old and smells musty. The bath on that level is also quite small and the access to the tub/shower combo is difficult for anyone with less mobility and needs a really good cleaning to remove rust in the jets. The beds were comfortable and rooms would accommodate a large group nicely. Most of the communication with the host was good but we did experience some delays. Also, be very careful on the main entry. There is a large step down that is not to code as I believe it is higher than 8 inches. Anyway we were ok with our stay but would not reserve this property again.

Really nice stay. Lovely spot just outside of town. Ample space; bigger than expected. Private master suite was very special.

Awesome Property

Great property for our family gathering!! Clean and the table was perfect size for our family of 6!! Used the hot tub every evening!! Enjoyed star gazing too!! Great time was had by all!!

Great Place!

This was a really nice place and a great location. I did need to reach out to Parker for check-in info a couple days beforehand but the response was quick. GPS unfortunately brought us a little too far up the driveway but Parker sorted that out for us immediately when I called. Would definitely stay here again! My friends also staying on the trip loved the property and want to bring their families here in the future!

Wonderful house

The home is much bigger than it looks in the listing with a whole huge second living space upstairs. The outdoor decks have beautiful views. Comfy furniture, well-appointed kitchen, just the right distance from town. The host is extra helpful and responsive to communication. My only caveat is that gps insists that the house is much further down the drive than it actually is, so just be aware of that if you are arriving after dark. Overall, we loved the house and would 100% stay again.

Old house that needs updates

We felt that the description of the listing wasn’t as accurate as it should have been. It was not clear that the lower level is actually the basement & the upper floor is the main level. The bath in the basement is tiny & services 3 bedrooms. The bathtub is tiny, old & jacuzzi doesn’t work. Since tub is so high, my husband who has had w knee replacements couldn’t step into it & it didn’t have a grab bar for safety, so had to use shower upstairs. Faucet was loose in sink & water faucets were switched (right side was hot & left was cold) tile work was a bad DIY job. So we basically had an 1& 1/2 baths instead of 2 full baths. Need better lighting around steps into house by driveway. Nearly fell there when we arrived after dark. Also that giant step down into house needs better signage. Was a surprise carrying stepping down with luggage. It’s a fall waiting to happen. The listing also needs to indicate this is not a property for anyone with mobility issues. We were greatly disappointed in this property overall.

Perfect for our family get together! Nice yard to play games in, deck to sit out in and plenty of room for everyone. Close to everything yet out in the country near horses, donkeys, cows, chickens and deer to see from the deck and road. Beds were very comfortable and we had plenty of room to sit at the tables inside and out. Would go back again!
