Beautiful home, beautiful location, our family had a wonderful time. Great host, for sure! The house was fully stocked with spices, coffee, paper plates and other things that came in handy. We brought most of the stuff we needed but I was impressed at the amount of items available for our use, if needed. Highly recommend!! Thank you to the Martin family!!

Absolutely stunning home! Stocked with everything you would need! The pictures don’t do the home justice! It really is even more beautiful in person! It was a perfect fit for our 5 couple group! Homeowner was very communicative.

This is a superb place! Well-maintained, great location, well-stocked with whatever you might need during your stay. The host is very responsive and helpful. The view on the patio is great - you are right on the river. Sitting by the fire in the evenings was very enjoyable, and again, the river is right there. Cannot find a better setting! We really enjoyed our stay and would like to come back again.

Everything about this property is beyond amazing!! The house itself is gorgeous - the layout, the decor, the lighting - they literally thought of everything. And then there's the views which are absolutely incredible. We have been visiting Bryson City for almost two decades and have rafted past houses like this, never thinking we'd actually have the chance to stay in one. Being right on the water, sitting out on the back deck, listening to the water, looking up at the mountains, it's just an absolute dream come true. Inside the house it is the pinnacle of comfort. Thank goodness for the views or you might never leave the beds! They are by far the most comfortable I've ever experienced with top-of-the-line mattresses and luxurious sheets and blankets. Same with the huge couch in the living room. It's big enough to fit the whole crew with plenty of throw blankets and pillows to snuggle in after a day of adventuring around the area.Lastly, the owners have thought of absolutely everything you might want or need during your stay. From the nugget ice maker and coffee/tea bar, to the high end appliances and stocked pantry, it's just as much fun to stay in and prepare meals as it is to explore Bryson City and the Nantahala areas.Bryn, the host, provided all the info we needed before our trip and checked in with us throughout our stay. I cannot thank her enough, and I hope you, too, will get to experience the magnificence of Martin Retreats!

We had a wonderful time at the property. The pictures also not compare to what the house looks like in person. Beautiful house. The kitchen was amazing. We made every meal at the house. Great location. Very good communication with host from the day before arrival, all the way until we left. My family and 2 of my brothers family went up for 4th of July. We had a wonderful time. Plenty of room. The lower level has pool table, and a poker table and hand shuffle board. We spent many hours down there. The sounds of the river hanging out back were so relaxing. We set there for hours every night by the fire. Definitely a place we would want to go back to. 5 star house!

Family Gathering

Our stay at the Martin's Retreat was spectacular. The home and accommodations were truly amazing. The location was super convenient for outdoor activities like fishing, white water rafting and zip lining. Bryn’s recommendations were excellent, and he was always available to answer any questions. The house, situated on the river, was incredibly pleasant and exactly as advertised.

The Martin river house is a true gem! Bryn is an incredible host and she made every aspect of our stay special. The decor is stunning and comfortable. From the soft sheets, comfy beds, gorgeous finishes and fully stocked kitchen, no detail has been missed. Bryn has excellent communication skills and made us feel right at home. The house is sparkling clean. We enjoyed listening to the river each morning over a cup of coffee on the gorgeous deck and then ending the day relaxing in the hot tub. We will be returning again next summer!

Simply amazing!!

This listing is exactly as pictured…it’s a beautiful home just steps from the Nantahala river. We enjoyed the hot tub, fire pit, sitting on the back deck and simply didn’t really want to leave the house. The kids loved the pool table and game room. This house is stocked with literally everything you need…above and beyond the basics. We will DEFINITELY stay here again! Can’t say enough great things!

Exceptional Venue

A very well curated property and experience. As to the property, the organization of the space naturally created occasions to gather with our group. One of our two favorites were the second floor balcony lounge area / outdoor dining space. The other was the fire pit next to the river. The outdoor dining table with views of the mountain and river provided creative inspiration for a range of art projects. As for experience, a whole series of elements from big (e.g., gourmet kitchen - appliances to cutlery) and small (e.g., choice of firewood and its smoke profile) made this a truly special time. We very much look forward to returning.

Our stay at this property was simply exceptional. The house shows a remarkable attention to detail, designed with elegance, good taste, and a warm atmosphere that makes you feel at home. The river view is truly breathtaking and creates an unforgettable natural setting.The amenities exceeded our expectations: the game room is spacious and entertaining; the kitchen is fully equipped with everything needed to prepare any kind of meal; the coffee station and the barbecue area with the Blackstone griddle were perfect for enjoying outdoor cooking. We especially loved having our meals outside while listening to the relaxing sound of the river.The outdoor areas are equally beautiful, surrounded by trees, with a cozy fire pit area and comfortable seating, all designed to relax and share special moments.A very special thanks to Mr. Martín for his excellent service and constant availability. His attention made our experience even more enjoyable and worry-free.We fully recommend this property 100%. My wife and I were looking for a place to reset our lives. My father had recently passed away from a 3 year battle with cancer, and my wife is a recent cancer survivor. We needed a place to find ourselves again and to reset our lives. This was the perfect place! The home is absolutely high end beautiful, comfortable,relaxing with a lot of great activities.The home is in a small quiet private gated community. The river flows around the back of the home. During the day the rafters and kayakers pass by waving and having a great time. I suggest taking the trip down the river there are multiple outfitters close by and it's a real blast. In the evening while BBQ on the huge upper deck of the home. We watched a red tail hawk catch a trout right out of the river. It was amazing to see up close. There are several small towns close by to go exploring.I have been to a lot of places in my travels. I can sincerely tell you the people of North Carolina are just so nice and welcoming. We meet some really great people and some new friends during our trip. The homeowner was so wonderful and helpful with guiding us through all the actives that the area has to offer. This was one of the best trips of our lives. The home, The property, The surrounding areas, have everything you need for a great and truly memorable vacation. 5 stars ***** all the way! Thank you for showing us how fun and great life really is again!

Everything about this home is just incredible! The moment we walked in, our jaws dropped. The pictures, though beautiful, simply do not do this place justice. This is truly a luxury custom home with every space carefully curated for comfort and beauty. Some favorites were morning coffee on the porch, eating every meal on the outside dining table, waving to rafters from the hot tub, fishing in the river, fun games of pool and cards in the game room, lounging on the incredibly large sectional, cooking in the most well stocked Kitchen ever, and sleeping in the softest bedding we have ever encountered. Every person from our 10 person group, ranging from ages 8 - 47, LOVED this home!The location is fabulous too. So close to the NOC where we enjoyed rafting, ziplining and dining. Also less than a 30 minute drive to many awesome hikes (we recommend the 3 waterfalls loop), Fontana Lake (we loved renting a boat and tube from Alarka Marina) and downtown Bryson City (really cute with lots of good dining options).This is a trip we all will remember and look forward to revisting soon! We can't recommend this home highly enough...it was certainly the nicest home any of us have ever stayed in. Bryn is a phenomenal host as well. Extremely responsive and goes above and beyond to make sure everything with the home is perfect. Thank you so much for sharing your home!
