We rented Dozing Bear Den for a long weekend of golf at Arcadia Bluffs. The house was immaculately maintained and we would not hesitate to stay there again when we return to the area. It has easy proximity to both Frankfort and Arcadia.The property owners checked in with our group regularly and were always on top of things. I could not recommend the property more highly.

The perfect destination for our large family, with ages from 8 months to 80. Spacious, comfortable home, great mattresses (!), and so many fun toys and games were available. The kitchen was very well stocked with utensils, cookware,etc. The hot tub was a welcome amenity we enjoyed every day of our stay. The beach is just incredible. We had never been to a Great Lake before,and this was a magical introduction. We hope to come back and give this place a 10/10.

Aw thanks so much for the lovely review! We’d love to host your family again :) Since we actually use Dozing Bear Den for our own family reunions and have kids ourselves, we’ve tried to stock it to ensure maximum convenience and fun!

The hosts were very responsive and helpful. The house was large, beds were comfortable, lots of hooks in the bathroom, and they had a well stocked kitchen, with all the essentials needed (hand mixer! Sheet pans. Etc). Beach view was nice and the had plenty of seating. We would recommend guests to bring water shoes, as the beach is sandy, but getting out into the water is rocky for a bit before returning to sand.

Family Vacation Dream

We had a fantastic stay in Arcadia! This property was perfect for our extended family gathering! Well designed and very comfortable for a large group. Very clean and great location! Hosts were great! Outstanding!

The house was beautiful, well-equipped, comfortable, spacious and well located close to great hikes and on a beautiful beach. We really enjoyed cold plunges in the lake followed by a dip in the hot tub. The house was ideal for our large group! We hope to be back!

Amazing Place

My favorite part of this house is the view - the sunsets were stunning. There is nice attention to detail in this home, from the bedside lights with usb ports to the well stocked game cabinet. It is just off of M22, so it's very easy to access (though has a gravel driveway). The beach is beautiful with soft sand. I'm excited to stay again!

Golf and Lake Michigan beach paradise

We had 8 guys who went to high school together 49 years later playing golf at Arcadia Bluffs and the South course. The beach and the house were great! The hot tub was a nice place to relax after golf. We hope to make this an annual event and we will return to this beautiful new 8 bedroom house.

Our family of 13 was wonderfully and easily accommodated at Dozing Bear Den. The setting on Lake Michigan is hard to beat. The beach is sandy and shallow for quite a ways out from shore, which made the water quite comfortable. The kitchen is well appointed, with an extra refrigerator on the lower level that greatly helped our group that does a lot of cooking. Both the indoor and outdoor dining tables accommodated our group. Our hosts supplied two paddle boards and a "party platform" that were big hits on the calmer days. The hot tub got plenty of use. The fire pit on the beach is always a great way to watch the sunset and end a beach day. The location is a relatively short drive to interesting places to eat, shop (and golf) in Frankfort, Bear Lake, Onekama and Manistee. Our host Tanya was readily accessible and most helpful. All in all a great place for a family week in Michigan on the beach.

Family vacation

We vacationed here w our 3 sons, their wives and children. There were 13 of us, ages 5-73. The house was spacious enough for us and very well-appointed with 7 bedrooms and 5.5 baths. The kitchen and baths were modern. We loved the house, but the deck, grassy backyard and beach were our favorites!! There are many fun things to do in the area. An awesome place with beautiful views! And very clean!

Magical!!

Is there anything better than watching the Lake Michigan sunset while relaxing in the hot tub? This beach house was beautiful! We were so happy to have rooms, beds, dining spots (inside and outside) for our entire extended family. It was super helpful to have amenities for our newest addition, a 9-month-old baby. Birding along the nearby marsh boardwalk was amazing. Thanks for sharing your magical home.

This house is large and has everything a family needs. We just traveled with one toddler, but I noticed that there's a pack n play, crib, high chair and booster. It has toys for babies through elementary age. The view is unmatched, wow!

Picture-perfect home just steps from a gorgeous, private Lake Michigan beach

This lake house on Lake Michigan exceeded all our expectations! From the pristine cleanliness to the thoughtfully designed interiors, every detail was perfect. The sunsets over the private beach were breathtaking, and we loved that we could see the gorgeous lake views from not only the beach but also from multiple bedrooms and the stunning great room. We could tell the house was designed with adults and kids in mind, and our group of 18 felt right at home. The organized, well-stocked kitchen and Blackstone grill made meal prep for a breeze, even for our large group. The kids couldn't get enough of the bunk room with full beds, the many games and TVs, and easy beach access for playing all day. When nights got chilly, we loved the chance to relax in the hot tub or around the private beach firepit. This beautiful home was everything we hoped for and more, and we can't wait to come back with more family and friends soon!

Beautiful Home and Views

We absolutely loved this vacation house. It’s brand new and so big - which is rare to find on Lake Michigan! It was so well appointed with everything we needed! We stayed with a large group of family and friends and the home fit everyone perfectly. The deck was great for eating outside and taking in the gorgeous views and the two huge tables fit all of us. The beach was also stunning and wasn’t a big hike with such a low bluff. It was really peaceful and was our own private oasis. The hot tub was also nice after a long day of playing. The rooms were great and I loved that there were so many king beds for adults! The bunk room was also adorable and the kids loved nestling into their bunks with the cute curtains they had - it felt like a fort. I can’t wait to stay again. Thanks for being a great host. Be sure to check out the hiking nearby and the cute town of Frankfurt which is a short drive away - the ice cream shop there is amazing.

Great house, you can’t beat the view. Right on the beach of Lake Michigan. The house was large enough to accommodate our extensive family with many amenities. Perfect for large families.
