Dave was a great host and he communicated with us very well. This is a great house and property. It is well designed and comfortable for a group of 12 guys who like outdoor activities and cooking, and a spacious and comfortable place to watch football. From the multiple tv's, well equipped kitchen with all necessary cooking essentials and conveniences to the two firepits, one on the side of the river, to the two game rooms, this is a primo place. And the setting is beautiful and very private! We plan to return next year!

Dave and Kimberly’s properties were beautiful. Such a lovely quiet and peaceful setting back in the woods. It’s the perfect place for a family get together. We made so many memories and had so much fun while staying there. I’d say the only problem with staying there is this feeling of depression when you got home! Couldn’t ask for a better week.

My family had a wonderful time at the Bestie River Home. The home was exactly as pictured, beautiful and spacious in and out. It had everything we needed and was just a couple f minutes away from Crystal Mountain. We skied, laughed, ate, and enjoyed Christmas together. We will certainly return to enjoy more experiences at the Betsie River Home.

An amazing vacation house! We loved everything about the house, property and stay. Had 14 of us there for a Crystal ski getaway. Plenty of room to spread out amongst three floors and house is perfect for larger groups. Clean and stocked with everything we needed. Game room was fun and porch was a great additional space. We had a calm and sunny day one day so sat by river and it was so relaxing. Would love to come back in summer as well! Thanks again for a fantastic experience!

We stayed at this home over the Thanksgiving weekend with a group of friends, and we all had a wonderful experience. The house was spotless, beautifully maintained, and extremely comfortable. The location was perfect as well.We were a large group—10 adults and 9 kids—and there was plenty of space for everyone. The kids especially loved the game room, and the adults had a great time with the pool table. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to spend the holiday together.

We were extremely pleased with the great setup along with extraordinary kitchen, we had everything we needed with all kinds of special details. Every room was carefully designed and decorated. Overall great experience. Since we flew in and had limited space bin luggage, finding some beach towels in the house would have been nice.House was clean and well cared for. Kitchen was well equipped.

We appreciate your suggestion about beach towels. While we provide and stock the house with 20 bath towels, hand towels, and washcloths, adding beach towels for every guest would make same-day laundry turnaround very challenging for our housekeeping team. That said, we’ll keep exploring ways to make packing a little easier for our guests in the future.

Beautiful home! Steve supplied a lot of information regarding nearby restaurants and nearby activities, very helpful. The home was very clean and had everything we needed.Check-in was very easy. With our kids and grandkids we had plenty of room to spread out and had many games to play. Our grandkids wished there was some bunkbeds so they could sleep more in a room, but there was plenty of bedrooms. Would highly recommend!

Northern Paradise

This place literally had it all and was the most stocked vacation rental I have ever been at. The home truly is spacious enough to accommodate large groups, the kitchen had everything you'd ever need to cook large meals, the game rooms were a great touch, and the outdoor patio is perfect for bonfires and yard games such as corn hole and bocce ball that were included. David was a great host and very responsive. I highly recommend this stay and I look forward to booking this rental again for future family vacations!

This beautiful home was perfect for our family of 15 to be together and celebrate the holidays. We enjoyed being so close to Crystal Mountain for skiing, indoor swimming, and for using the fitness center and spa. We had a great meal and special cocktails at nearby Iron Fish Distillery, and some of us walked home since it was so close. The kitchen was spacious and well equipped for cooking and setting up a buffet. There were so many things to do in the game room and downstairs in the pool table room/family room that the kids (and adults( were never bored. The yard was perfect for playing in the snow and walking down the stairs to the river to fish. Everyone in our family loved this property and decided we would love to come back for another reunion in the future.

Fabulous experience! Our whole family decided this was the best property and host that we have had for our family vacations which include 9 adults and 7 grandchildren!!Place was immaculate, directions and communications without flaw. For example: A storm came through on the 3rd night that knocked down a tree that hit the house. Host was notified that night and by the end of the next afternoon the downed tree had been cleaned up. However, the 4th night, when another rain storm came through and water was leaking into a bedroom, we discovered that the roof had been punctured! The next morning the owner was notified and by the end of the day he had a roofer on site to identify the leak point and seal the roof. (It didn't rain the rest of the time we were there!) All other communications prior to and after the rental were also timely and very positive. Kitchen was well stocked with everything. River was steps away, but not obvious so small children were not drawn to it. We highly recommend this property!

Annual family vacay 2025

The house was beyond acceptable. Very well appointed and very comfortable. All the little things were considered and supplied. We get our extended family together every year ages 3 to 66 and this was a great house for us all. The only issue we had was that the water front was a little faster moving than we anticipated so the younger kids were a bit disappointed. Would recommend to any large group or family.

Amazing!! Best Stay yet!!!

We absolutely loved this stay. The hosts have thought about everything. They were communicative prior to our trip. Quick to respond to questions. The house was amazing! Fully furnished! They thought about everything we could have needed. I seriously don’t think there was something we needed or forgot that they didn’t already have. I have never felt so taken care of. For the location and the price it was the best value! We 100% are making plans to come back. The place was beautiful, clean and comfortable! We had a large group and there was enough room for everyone without feeling like we were on top of everyone else. Thank you to the amazing hosts for making this trip unforgettable!

Fantastic House & Stay!

I can’t say enough good things about this rental house. We had three families on a late fall school break. House has everything you could need and all of us had an awesome time. Clean, tons of bedrooms, bathrooms which was important and multiple floors to spread out. All of us loved the game room and had some fun competition. The yard was great for the kids playing games too. Couple of us fished and caught some rainbows which was cool. The property is very quiet and we loved hanging by the river. Neat to be by Iron Fish and having so close. Great pizza by the way, so make sure you try it. We are lucky to have found this house. Thank you David for the best stay and we are definitely coming back again!

Perfect family experience

Owner was very responsive to questions. All info was laid out ahead of time and also in a small binder. The whole place was labeled for our benefit. Beds were comfortable. 2nd floor bedrooms did get hot at night because of having an infant the door needed to be shut, otherwise very comfortable for our end of July early August stay. We Kayaked from up river and stopped at our house, do not use any floatation device that does not have a fabric liner. Lost 2 on our trip. But it was a good river to kayak on. Extra fridge in the basement was helpful for our sofa living family. Iron Fish Distillery was a nice short ride for the younger adults in our group, and enjoyable!

This property is a must stay! The house is well equipped for all ages and has space for even large groups. The owner provides kayaks for use, along with many other outdoor activities. The river access is easy and is shallow enough to enjoy wading or floating. It was perfect for our summer vacation but we could see how a winter getaway would be equally enjoyable!
