This was the second time our family stayed at Cayenne Cottage and it was wonderful. Absolutely loved the updated kitchen!! Perfect location too.

We had an amazing stay. The renovation done to open up the main living space was perfect for the group to gather. Truly enjoyed our experience with a quick walk to the beach and the pool.

Beautiful property! I stayed here for a week with my family and we had a great time. The cottage is very spacious and newly updated. The host was very responsive. Will definitely stay here again!

Cayenne Cottage was exactly as described in the listing: a full home very close to the beach with community grills and a community pool. The finishings inside the home are really nice. I did communicate with the host a couple of times (not about issues), and they were extremely responsive and very helpful! Highly recommend!

Management team was quick to respond to all communication. We loved the location of this property and have stayed in this community more than once - it’s a quick walk to the beach, and the heated pool is always fun for the kids as well! We will be back!

Great time!

We have stayed in the beach retreat condo as well as a few of the cottages. We always have a great time and this cottage was beautiful. We loved the large table to play family games. The condo had a great start up supply of soap and kitchen supplies. The hosts were very kind and responsive and we enjoyed our week there!

Perfect location

Perfect location across the street from the private beach. The home was beautiful and had all necessities. We felt safe in the gated community and spent lots of time at the pool/spa. Will definitely be renting this home again for our yearly family vacation

Cayenne cottage

This property is in a great location and had everything you needed to enjoy a week at the beach. The pool was wonderful on the 2 days the ocean was closed for swimming.

Great place

This spot was great. Location was so close to the pool and such a short walk to the beach. The communication was simple and easy. We had 4 adults and 5 kids (5-10 yr old). I would stay here again.

Family vacation

We had been planning a family vacation for several months with our two grown children and their families, which included a 22 month old and a 2 month old. Once we decided on a trip to the beach I searched vrbo for a place in or near Destin. Since this cottage had 4 bedrooms it was perfect for us. The pool was large and the beach was only a short 5 minute walk away. The cottage was very adequately furnished with plenty of dishes and cooking pans. It was a great time to spend together.

Location is great and the main reason we choose this property. Home is beautiful but was not as described when we booked. Home went through a renovation after we booked. Sleeping was different configuration with full beds instead of twins which forced people to share that should not have had to. Washer and ice maker (had to purchase bagged ice) did not work properly. We had to send out laundry as we were staying there for baseball and uniforms needed washing daily. Some people packed light thinking they would be able to wash and rewear clothing. Lights and some outlets did not work.With the renovations done the pots and pans would not work on new cooktop (these were replaced later). This forced us to eat out and spend extra money we had not budgeted. Feeding 7 people was not cheap. Owners did refund 150.00, but this did not come close to covering the added expense for 1 meal and the laundry we had to sent out.We will not stay here again. I do trust all issues will be corrected and done properly, but we were misled and we were not given notice of changes or an opportunity, in advance, to make other arrangements.

Hi Tamara, I am so sorry you were disappointed in the accommodation. The owners had worked very hard at having the home remodeled, but they did only get to finish the day of your arrival. The pots n pans that had been purchased for the new stove ware in the home within 2 hours of your arrival. but I understand that you did not wish to wait. We had a service man out to check out the washer and icemaker. He informed us that the icemaker was working properly but did struggle with the demand that you needed. He did note that the water line was not open all the way for the washer, so he did take care of that as well. You had mentioned that you were still not happy with the washer after a day or so. We did check out the washer and found it to be working properly. I never want a guest to be unhappy with their stay and that is why we did refund the amount that the owner oked.
