My mom, sister, & I enjoyed an 8-night stay. The house is nicely appointed. From the plush linens & thick, comfortable towels, to the complimentary tea/coffee, it felt more like staying at a friend’s house. The furnishings are very comfortable & the appliances are very nice. We used the W/D, accessed outside. Detergent & dryer sheets were provided. We planned to kayak/relax at the water but couldn’t due to a fish die off. This occurs often on the lake, to varying degrees, & after a few days there were hundreds of dead fish. The odor was horrific. (Note: other beaches in the area were also affected). While it was unfortunate that we didn’t get to enjoy the lakefront, the view from the expansive windows was breathtaking. We were entertained for hours each day by Bald eagles, Canada Geese, Kingfishers, Seagulls, and Heron. There was always something happening in the pond area next to the property (bring binoculars!). The communication from the host was exceptional and prompt. There are a few minor improvements to suggest:
WiFi was poor on our phones, but not the TV. We noticed brief improvement after a reset, but it was slow again the next day.
When it rains, the yard down to the lake becomes a sludgy/muddy marsh. Adding stepping stones might help.
Finally, the description mentions a sandy beach. There’s a sandy area by the house, but not at the waterfront. It wasn’t an issue for us, but someone expecting a sandy waterfront might be confused.
Thanks for a wonderful stay!
