This house is in my top 3 favorite VRBO’s. Extremely clean and very nostalgic of the 70’s. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need if you want to cook. Tons of books to read if you just want to stay in. Plenty of board games for your family. The den is very spacious. The location was great!!! Easy access to so many great places!! Triple Falls, Pretty Place, Brevard and not a bad drive to Hendersonville. We fished and explored several of the walking trails. Highly recommend!!!!!

Flying Squirrel is one of our favorite places! Sally is a wonderful host, making everything easy for her guests. The house is very secluded, yet right next to hiking trails within Sherwood Forest, while Brevard is only minutes away. The porch is our favorite place, with the lake peeking through the trees. Can't wait to go back!

Older house but very well appointed. We literally did not need anything when we arrived. There are even life jackets and paddles for use on the 5 lakes on the property. There is a nice pool open for use. The permanent residents we met were all very friendly. The back porch is worth the price of admission!We would love to return for another stay (we were in the area for a wedding).

We loved the house. The only thing I regretted upon checking out was that we didn’t hike any of the gorgeous, perfect for us, trails. We had a map that clearly marked them all. We were too busy chilling. The kitchen was supplied with everything you would need to prepare anything. The Host was genuine and knowledgeable. I don’t believe we used the laundry except to add towels and sheets when we left.Were planning on returning next year so I hope the house is still for rent.Thanks so much! We enjoyed our stay at the Flying Squirrel Lodge. It was comfy and cozy, with a nice view from the porch. The kitchen was well stocked for our needs and the bathroom heater came in handy on cold mornings. The neighborhood had nice trails and we saw deer multiple times. We did have problems with our Verizon cellphone service during most of the stay and could not use them until we drove about 10 minutes from the cabin. Other than that it was a convenient location for favorite hiking spots and nice restaurants in Brevard.

Fishing Trip

This was the second time we stayed at this cottage. The neighborhood is phenomenal and the lake is gorgeous. The walking trails are literally outside the back door. The cottage had everything we needed as our base of operations while we visited for our annual fly fishing trip. Will definitely stay again.

My Happy Place

My wife and I have stayed at the Flying Squirrel Lodge several times and we always enjoy it. The peaceful wooded setting is a wonderful escape from the city.

Lovely cabin

Lovely cabin tucked away in Sherwood Forest. It was very clean with all of the amenities we needed. It was great to be able to walk right outside and get on multiple hiking trails! The ease of communication with the owner was also nice! I would definitely stay here again!
