Extremely stressful stay, dishonest host.
1. Rental caused stress prior, during and after our stay. Our family wanted to celebrate our daughter’s graduation while she was undergoing chemo. Host was dishonest about privacy of entry and shared spaces. And shadiness continued… 2. Host is now trying to charge us exorbitant for damages to window (without written estimates) after we used an advertised amenity where placed without instructions otherwise. Furthermore, through vrbo I communicated we planned to grill. I was told the backyard was ready for ‘relaxing, grilling and gathering’. No instructions to move anything. 3.The ‘private’ rental shares interior space to a basement renter that despite continued questions to clarify I was told shared no interior space and entry was private. Have video, can’t attach. Also basement apartment ‘the hideout’ advertises to renters that laundry room is shared. The only door separating the common entry of these rentals is opened by a thumb print. So any hand holding the handle opens the door. 4.Second bathroom hot water valve didn’t work, Host was surprised even though kids use it and so wld have cleaning service? 5. We answered front door for basement renter’s party, host’s client for a salon adjacent to home (which Oregon health licensing office doesn’t have records of) and an unhoused man who wanted a towel after going through trash and perhaps using hose to rinse off. 6. Wld document more but out of space and can’t attach videos. At this price point, a hard no.
