Home away from home

While the reason for our stay was less than desirable, the Old Florida cottage was a great home away from home! Glenn is very welcoming.

OLD FLORIDA HOLIDAY

Enjoyed our stay. Very relaxed with the atmosphere of Old Florida. Brad the peacock, was an added attraction that we all enjoyed. Location was excellent. Near shopping, restaurants, natural areas and beautiful beaches. We also enjoyed the luxury of our own pool.

Good Ol’ Florida

Everything was absolutely perfect! Great location, quiet neighborhood, pool was refreshing and the house was stocked with just what we needed for a relaxing, comfortable stay. Thanks for making our trip extra special Glenn.

Old Florida Charm and Hospitality!!!!!

Great property! Full of charm w modern amenities and tons of privacy. We loved the grounds and particularly the private pool. Plenty of space and everything you needed was provided. Local beaches, restaurants and shops all within 5-10 drive. This is a hidden treasure! Glenn has great properties

We had a wonderful time at Glenn’s place. Just as advertised. It was a pleasure to swim in December and we had a peacock visit us occasionally. I will go back!!

A great vacation

The cottage was so charming. It was lovingly decorated in the late 1960s style. Reminded me of when i traveled on vacation with my parents. So many pieces i remembered. Beautifully done. But all the appliances were modern and high end.The antique shops on town were really nice and there are lots of places near by to fish.We will return

Great House, Cozy, Clean, and private

We were very happy with our choice to stay at this house. The pool was the best part, all the neccessities, and toys to relax, float around and be at peace. Our purpose was to get away from load fireworks for the weekend and mission accomplished. Neighborhood was very quite and respectful of everyones peace. House was tucked away in a litte oasis but still close enough to any food or enteratainment some one may be seeking. Host was excellent about communicating all the neccessary info, and made themselves available if needed. We even got to meet the neighborhood Peacock! Great Stay!!!

This place is lovely! It was exactly as described and shown in photos. We loved all the outdoor spaces including the lush backyard (which feels like your own private butterfly garden) and pool. We wanted for nothing and other than a couple of dog walks, we never left the property. It was just too homey and peaceful. We hope to stay again soon!

SPECTACULAR!!! The pictures do not capture the brightness and nuance of this home!We were greeted by the host, who gave a great quick tour, and explained the area rules (ie no music outside of the home). Glen left a little welcome basket with some great goodies! The house was stocked beyond expectations and extremely clean. The only thing missing, and this is a stretch, is maybe a throw blanket or two for the living room. That is only because the AC is so efficient, which is much needed with the FL heat! We will stay again, and have already recommended this property to many friends and family members!!

Perfect Old Florida Cottage

Great host very informative and accommodating. Well stocked kitchen and welcome gift was a nice touch. We rented two of there properties one on the water and this cottage not on the water but only steps from the other. We had five adults and one kid. The main house is full of history and a beautiful get away back in time. The river access is great with dock and large lot to bring your paddle gear. The cottage is old FL with mid-century modern deco with private pool. Most definitely stay here…

Best kept Florida secret

Cute cottage. It felt like we traveled back to the 40's. The attention to detail with the home decor, terrazzo floors, and the dishes. No detail was over looked. The pool was a nice treat. Glenn was a perfect host. Took the time to share information about the area and included suggestions for attractions and restaurants. We can't wait to visit again.

Just as advertised

First, Glenn is a fantastic host. He made point to greet us personally to show us around the property. We had a small glitch shortly after he left and he was back to fix the issue in five minutes. Second, the place is just as advertised. It is thoughtfully appointed in period style from the clocks and furnishings right down to the glassware. We felt like we had stepped back into the old Florida of the 1960s. Kitschy (in a good way), cool and comfortable.

Anniversary getaway

We were impressed with everything the house and location had to offer. Secluded enough for much needed R&R, yet close enough to everything to enjoy going out. The house was clean, comfortable beds, towels, and a relaxing pool to cool off in. We enjoyed it so much, we stayed and extra night and our son and fur babies came to enjoy with us! Thank you Glen for the personal touches, personal greeting, and the snacks. Highly recommend for anyone wanting vintage charm with updated amenities.

Great relaxing weekend

This was a great relaxing weekend away with our dogs. From the moment we arrived and met with Glenn it was like stepping back into old Florida. The house is decorated in a charming MCM style with attention to detail. Fell in love with the Dade City Pine cabinets, so happy they have the house decorated with this style instead of the boring grey paint and granite everywhere. The homemade cookies were DELICIOUS and we wished there were more. Everything was very clean and everything well stocked, it was nice to have coffee set up with all you could need even with fresh cream in the fridge ready to go after a long drive. The pool was our favorite part of the house. Sitting out by the pool with all the trees was like sitting in your own tropical oasis. Quiet neighborhood where you can just sit and enjoy yourself away from the busy hustle bustle of the city. We also enjoyed the fishing pier just a short walk away. Publix was close by and very convenient to pick up snacks. Along with some great restaurants and beaches just a short drive away. If you’re looking to get away and unplug and recharge this is the perfect place to do it!

Home away from home - perfect getaway, old Florida style!

Our family of 6 really enjoyed a short weekend at this home. Had absolutely everything you needed, we grill and enjoyed the pool and could not have asked for more. Did venture out to Squid Lips to eat out one night which is right on the water, and it was great, less than a 10-minute drive, I think. Publix and Walmart are not far at all to stock up the fridge. House is decorated mid-century which we love. Sat at the table and played cards and just really enjoyed some much-needed family time. We are definitely planning a return trip; the host was great!

Great vintage cottage

Super clean, fresh flowers, and it was just like a summer vacation to my grandparents house when I was a kid.. except this cottage has a great private pool! Can’t wait to come back for a longer stay!

Charming Carriage House with Retro Vibe

This property is truly unique! Glenn, our host greeted us and gave us a tour while he explained the notable history of the house and it’s functions and features. Welcome treats were provided, including amazing cookies that we believe must be homemade! Glenn also gave us great local restaurant advice which was much appreciated. The house is small, but very clean, and decorated in a fun, retro style. The natural landscape is lovely and includes stately bamboo trees among other indigenous plants. The property is large and overlooks the beautiful, Indian River. There are kayaks available for your use, and a pier overlooking the river where you can sit and relax. The vintage, oversized pool is impressive, with Lion fountains, and has its own fascinating history. We also enjoyed meeting Brad, the peacock, who would visit at the window occasionally. The house is an idyllic vacation spot and we definitely plan to visit again!
