Outstanding property with primo location. On the quiet side of Manhattan Beach, with beautiful views fo the ocean and easy, direct access to the beach. Easy walk to downtown MB and shops. We would gladly stay here again.

Our trip was a 41st Fraternity brother reunion. In previous trips, we had reserved a bunch of hotel rooms at the SeaSprite Hotel. This year it was decided to find a home on the Strand as a way to allow us to more easily be together and avoid the need to always eat at restaurants. Boy did this house deliver. Spectacular location, wonderful home and fantastic patio for people and scenic watching. THis trip was a complete success. The owners were always available via the app and had staff come an help with any challenges. Note that 5 of the beds were futons as opposed to bed and boxspring. While fine they might not be comfortable to all. Kids would be absolutely fine on them. Otherwise this place was perfect and we are already talking about reserving it again for our 42nd trip.

An amazing property on the Strand. Truly a luxury experience. Patio and views were fantastic. The home is beautiful, every amenity you could want. The kitchen is first class and well organized. Bedrooms were excellent with a primary bedroom two story with ocean views. We particularly enjoyed the theater room which was very easy to use. Direct access to the strand and beach from the patio. One of the best vacation experiences we have had!

On the Strand…view couldn’t have been better. Kitchen had every thing you could ever want…at least 4 different coffee/Espresso makers! They had thought of and taken care of everything! If you’re a beach person, it doesn’t get any better! Makes me want to buy in Manhatten Beach…best, peaceful trip for me and my daughters. This will be an annual!

This property is a gem! Located towards the north end of The Strand boardwalk, it's an easy drive from LAX and a relatively quick trip between there and popular sites, such as the Getty Center and Santa Monica Pier. The hosts have done a fabulous job of offering a number of extra conveniences -- from a wide selection of teas to a popcorn maker (with complementary popcorn & oil) in the theater room to guest robes in each bathroom/bedroom. The home is clean and well maintained. A great getaway for our family. One tip: the garage entrance is incredibly narrow, so a tight fit for regular-sized SUVs and mini-vans. If you can get by with a smaller vehicle, it would definitely be easier to maneuver into that space. Additionally, the hosts provide passes for street parking if that's more convenient. They really have thought of everything to make your stay as enjoyable as possible!

Amazing home, super quiet and comfortable, loaded with everything one would need and more. Just steps to an incredible beach. The view was spectacular. Would love to go back.

Wonderful house - what a way to wake up each morning enjoying the ocean and surfers enjoy the waves. The house was stocked with everything you would need!!!! It had everything labeled and included extras like coffee pods.

Great long weekend on the beach!

Thoroughly enjoyed this awesome place! Location can’t be beat. Rode bikes up and down the Strand. House was awesome, clean and very nice! Dinners in, watching the sunsets were spectacular! Melissa and Brenda were very nice and attentive to our needs. Would stay there again.

Special Strand Stay

We stayed for 5 nights at the end of November. 2 families, 9 people total. Everything was great. Well equipped home with amazing oceanfront sunset views. The hosts were very attentive to our needs and would 100% stay again.

The house is beautiful, BUT such a disappointment from beginning to end. When we arrived the alarm starting going off on every floor. The property manager gave me different codes to try, but nothing worked. It was going off for 2 HOURS before they sent someone out to fix it. The back door closes when you walk out but the code panel doesn’t work so we were locked out a couple times, so had to make sure the door never closed. There were ants everywhere in the kitchen, and some in the family room and theater, so disgusting. I had to deep clean everything with Lysol to kill them but kept seeing them throughout the trip. To top it off, the “minimal construction” described in the VRBO post was NOT minimal. There was very loud pounding and machines throughout the day. I had to send a video to the property manager to convince them that I wasn’t exaggerating. Fortunately we were gone most days and were able to avoid the noise, but it was unbearable when we were there. The property management tried to make it right by buying us breakfast and giving half our cleaning deposit back, but that didn’t come close to what we paid for the house. I never would have booked this place for our family vacation had we known of these issues, and would not recommend this house to anyone else.

I hear how frustrating this stay felt, and I’m really sorry it started and unfolded this way. That’s not the experience we aim to provide, especially for a family trip. The alarm issue on arrival should have been resolved much faster. We addressed it as soon as we could get someone on-site, but the delay you experienced is not acceptable and we’ve since reviewed our after-hours response to prevent this from happening again. The back door lock and keypad have now been repaired so this doesn’t happen for future guests. We’ve also had pest control return to treat the home thoroughly after your stay and are continuing with preventative service to ensure the issue is fully resolved. Regarding the construction, I understand your frustration. The work is taking place in a separate unit above, and while it’s disclosed in the listing, we recognize that the level of noise you experienced did not feel minimal in practice. That’s something we’re taking seriously and revisiting how we set expectations moving forward. During your stay, we did our best to respond quickly and provide some relief with breakfast on us, the option for a late checkout or additional night, and a partial refund of the cleaning fee. I understand that didn’t fully make up for the experience, but it was our intention to acknowledge the disruption and support you while you were there. We appreciate you sharing this in detail. It’s helped us address several items directly, and we’ve already taken steps to improve both the home and how we communicate these situations going forward.
