Converted Garage in Quite Rural Neighborhood Near Freeway

A converted garage, this 350 sq ft space has a queen bed & private living space. The bathroom is located inside the house. You do have to take 5 steps outside to get into the house to get to your bathroom. In the images you can see the garage entrance & house entrance. The bathroom has a bathtub. There is outside space in front of the room that guests can enjoy. The area includes a bench a table, a funky little propane bbq and a garden area. The room has a coffee / tea bar with a fridge, coffee maker, electric kettle, microwave, toaster oven and some basic cook ware. But guest are also welcome to use the house kitchen for sink access and to use the stove/oven if guest wish to do more elaborate cooking. This located 2 min, from the freeway. 15 min. to Ojai, less than 10 to beaches and down town Ventura. 2 minutes from swimming holes on the Ventura River. We are a few minutes out of town so it is quite with easy street parking and country dark at night.

This is a beautiful unit in a peaceful residential neighborhood surrounded by hills that are misted in the morning. You can sit in the cool morning and evenings at the picnic table to enjoy the beautiful garden and the broader view of the opposing hills. The place has a lot of character, exactly as shown in the listing photos. The kitchen has plenty of counter space. The fridge could be new, has plenty of space and big freezer, and I especially loved that it was absolutely quiet. This place is perfect for guests who would buy all their meals out, bring leftovers home to heat up in the microwave or toaster oven, and toss the food containers. I’m more ambitious and brought all my meals pre-prepared. I was looking for a way to clean my glass dishes, which I used to store the food and to heat it in the toaster oven. There is no water to the unit and no way to clean utensils and dishes. The property listing does state that guests are welcome to use the sink in the house kitchen. However, when I asked for a way to wash my dishes Natasha hesitated, then said her kitchen wasn’t too clean. She did not offer to take me to the kitchen and show me around. As a result, I used the house kitchen sink as minimally as possible. It seemed that we had opposite schedules, so we were never in the kitchen at the same time. In the unit, there are nice ceramic plates and bowls and silverware, plus mugs and glasses. The toaster oven did not have the tray that slides in and out, which allows you to ac

DO NOT STAY HERE! THERE IS A WOMAN AND HER KID LIVING AT THIS PROPERTY! We stayed at this property and when we went to use the bathroom in the house the first night, we were met by a woman and her kid. Despite shocking and disturbing for my wife, this was not advertised and shared-stays are not allowed per Vrbo's guidelines. We were refunded by Vrbo despite the owner denying a family also lives in this house.

Great little spot, convenient location for my needs

This room was part of a cute house in a friendly neighborhood, with a great hostess & her family! It is indeed a refitted garage, however, so no plumbing without going into the house. There IS a bathroom set aside for private guest use in the house, & again, the family was welcoming & very helpful & responsive. The kitchen is limited to toaster oven/broiler & microwave which would have been doable if there was any cookware in the cabinets. I was there for a family event, however, so didn't spend much time there. I'm sure if I had asked Natasha for utensils & something to cook in (pie plate, Tupper- ware, etc.) she would have accommodated me!
