Rooms were incredibly clean and well stocked with with beach towels, toys, and chairs. Furniture was quite comfortable and host was very attentive to our questions. Will definitely stay here again

This was an unexpected, last minute trip & it ended up being Memorial Day weekend. We started looking for a place to stay close to the beach about two weeks ago. We were amazed we found something so close to the beach! The price was very affordable. Very easy walk to the beach, the condo was spotless, & I loved how well stocked it was! We would definitely stay here again!

Booked for a ladies getaway and everything was perfect! Unit was clean and very well stocked. Beds were comfortable. Host was very accommodating and helpful. Could not have asked for anything more. We will definitely be back!!

Great location, but management didn’t keep their wordThe area is wonderful. Butler Beach is an easy walk through the complex, and the beach was amazing. The unit was fine overall, with minor issues: clogged sinks and sand in the washer. The complex looks a little run down, so if aesthetics matter to you, keep that in mind.The management company was responsive, but only about what they wanted to be responsive about. The listing advertised a fitness room, which they have since removed, but it was under construction our entire stay. They said they’d rectify it Friday and get back to me, and I had to reach out Monday for an update. They offered to pay for a week-long YMCA pass for my family and assured me Tuesday morning it was handled, but the passes were never paid for. We got into the YMCA only because of a courtesy visit from the YMCA itself. When I followed up, the person I spoke with seemed upset that I asked for what she’d promised.After the trip I filed a complaint with VRBO. Management told VRBO the passes were paid for, which was not true, then said they’d follow up and stopped responding.In my opinion, this company was not honest with me or with VRBO. Book for the location, but confirm amenities beforehand and get promises in writing.I have been back for two weeks and I am still waiting on a response from the property management company. At this point I know I will not get one. They really put a damper on my vacation because I booked it for the fitness room.

Perfect place to relax and go nowhere else

The Ocean Hibiscus retreat is the perfect place to sit back and relax. It has plenty of space for a large family. I appreciated the amount of clean towels, extra beach towels, Keurig machine, and beach wagon available. The aesthetic is very pleasing and comfortable.

This property was so wonderful! From the large, modern kitchen to the beautifully decorated bedrooms to the two balconies and beach access, this property exceeded our expectations. It was a great place to spend Christmas this year!

Hibiscus Resort Review

Some of the kitchen appliances were not clean. Some areas of the resort were in disrepair. Overall though, the unit itself fulfilled our needs and we had an enjoyable stay.

We had a great stay! The condo was clean, easy to get into, quiet and unproblematic. I loved the setup of the unit. We were able to accommodate our teenagers, younger children and ourselves without being on top of each other all of the time. The complex was easy to get in and out of. We didn’t spend much time there, as we had a short stay, so I can’t speak much as to the amenities, but we had a wonderful time and would definitely go back.

Perfect for our Easter Weekend!

We were looking for a great spot for our family of five to enjoy Easter Weekend and Ocean Hibiscus Retreat - for 8 did not disappoint! The layout allowed for plenty of space when we wanted time together while allowing our kids (22, 20, 17) to enjoy their own space as well. The beach was just a short walk, and everything we needed was there (seven chairs, a beach blanket, two boogie boards, a few sand toys, and a wagon for transport!)! The communication from the rental company was superb...they checked on us via message, were quick to respond to my questions about availability of a grill (there are several!) and local recommendations! This is certainly where we'll stay each time we return to the area!

Difficult to find the exact unit. Directions should have indicated the parking identifiers more clearly with the alpha prefix not just the room number.Unit was clean except for broken glass found in the hallway.Linens and towels in ample supply. Kitchen was well equipped.Beach was a LONG walk but enjoyed. Unit provided a nice assortment of beach toys and chairs. There was some difficulty accessing the beach but another guest had a code that worked. Site map for beach and pool would have been very helpful.Overall a good experience with just a few hiccups.

Condo was beautiful and clean with a great layout for two families. Everything we needed was included. Communication regarding building number and correct gate code could have been better. Grounds need care. A balcony picture with a view of the beach gate was included in original pictures which was very deceiving as it was quite a haul to the beach, especially with small children. We would not have selected this unit had we know prior to making reservation. Overall it was a good value for the price.

Thank you for your feedback. The building number is included in the address although it can be tricky to find. The gate code is updated monthly by the community's HOA so we try our best to inform our guests as soon as that's sent to us. We do have several properties in Hibiscus that have that view, but this one does not and is not in the pictures of the listing. Glad you enjoyed the condo and your stay!

This is our 3rd time staying at this complex and it is always nice, but this time it needed some attention. The hot tubs were in need of cleaning and the boardwalk to the beach was buried in the sand. The unit was clean and had all the necessities. It was good for the price. The 2nd bedroom in the main unit is really only suitable for kids as it had no storage space at all, is very small, and you have to walk through that room to access the attached studio unit. You can also get to the studio from a door in the hallway, but the door from the interior doesn't lock from the studio side. My wife and I slept on the studio side since i was the only room that had a king size bed. We didn't like that the door in betwwen the units could not be looked from our side and the bed was very firm.Overall, good for a family on a budget, but not great for group of adults.

Thank you for your feedback. We have since added an interior door lock. Each side has it's own private entrance allowing for larger groups of adults and families alike. We have shared feedback with the HOA/community as we have no control over those items listed. Glad you enjoyed it overall.

Pros and Cons Review! We visited late July. The condo was clean and inviting. The host was responsive and accomodating. The beach is past the pools and down a boardwalk. The pools are great with plenty of chairs and areas of sun and shade.The con for us was the layout. The description does explain that there is a seperate suite with its own entrance. But what we didn't realise was in order to get into the main condo we either had to walk through a "bedroom" or go into the hall and come in through the other door.The area that was the "bedroom" was essentially a pass through. And they could lock their doors but on our side there was not a lock (or a deadbolt on the hallway door) so the suite doesn't really have the sense of privacy as the exterior door can be opened by anyone in the condo as the codes to the doors are the same. Just something to be aware of depending on who you are traveling with.

This was our 3rd stay at Hibiscus and it never disappoints. Our unit was clean and beautiful with everything you need for a stay at the beach even beach toys for the kiddos. We'll be back next year if not before.
