Great clean duplex. It fit our family and was walkable to historic Main Street. Would recommend bringing your amenities like coffee, creamer etc. would definitely stay again.

This house was a fantastic place to stay for our girls weekend! The beds were amazingly comfortable and having three bathrooms to three bedrooms was ideal. If someone in your party has a difficult time with steps, there is one bedroom and bathroom on the main floor, with just a couple steps up onto the deck entrance of the house. Counter-space was a premium at this home but we made do. I wish there had been foldable luggage racks or benches at the foot of the beds for our bags, but again, we made do. Located just a couple blocks up from Main Street and a fantastic little coffee shop, we had a great time shopping and enjoying all Main Street St. Charles has to offer. I just wish it hadn’t been 95 degrees!

Lovely place! Stayed with my husband and two kids. Kitchen was stocked with all cooking supplies. House was clean and beautifully decorated. We appreciated the close walk to Main Street, which has a lot of restaurants, stores, bakeries, and coffee shops. Local grocery store is a short 5 min drive. Beds comfy.

The location was perfect. But there were not instructions or heads up about having to find the very narrow alley behind the house. We stumbled upon it on our own. Parking in front would have meant many awkward steps to drag luggage up.The unit was very clean. However, the steps going the second floor were extremely steep and pulling luggage up was a challenge. The handrail ends at the landing then the next handrail doesn't start until halfway up the remaing steps. The beds were very comfortable! The shower in the primary bedroom was so small I couldn't even get completely unter the shower head which didn't deliver much water. The floor in the bathroom is marble and slick and no bathmat was offered, only towels, which were large and soft. The sink didn't have a stopper so if something is dropped in the sink...too bad. The lighting in the downstairs bedroom didnt have a bedside light. There are two sconces on the wall but the three of us could never figure out how to turn them on. Overall, an instruction sheet for small details about the house would have been helpful. For three women in their 70s (and we are young 70s) this was not a great fit. The steps alone were a big factor for the overall use of the house. It was clean, no smell etc but overall not "user friendly." Some of the issues could either be fixed or at least explained to potential renters ahead of time.

If you are traveling to St Charles to visit the Historic Main Street, this is a perfect spot. Its just one short block up a slight hill from Main St. The house has the old feel of an early 1900s home with all the new upgrades. The house appears to be freshly painted with new stainless appliances. It has all the essentials. AC and ceiling fans keep the home cool in the summer. No washer/dryer, but everything else was included. Perfect for three couples or a family. The only minor complaint is that the upstairs #2 bathroom is not close to the #2 bedroom, so you have to walk down the hall. Not a dealbreaker for us, but something to note. Downstairs bathroom is just outside downstairs bedroom, so almost ensuite, but not. Upstairs master bedroom has ensuite bathroom. House was very clean with a little scent of fresh paint, but ceiling fans helped keep things fresh. There is parking in the back, but the little alley has tight entrances. We were fine in a minivan, but a larger vehicle might be tight. There are two units in the one large house, so if you have a large group, getting both units would be awesome. Owners were very easy to contact, sll instructions we laid out, and easy to follow. Would rent again for sure.

Wonderful location in charming town. Only suggestion: add a chair or table or luggage rack to each bedroom. The only place to put the bed decorative pillows or your clothes is on the floor.

St. Charles weekend

Beautiful property that seems as if it was very recently completed. Would definitely stay again. Every host provides different "nice to have" items; my only comment would be that a few items such as shampoo, dish cloths, basic spices such as salt & pepper would have been great. Overall great place.

This property is so charming! Older home that has been restored to perfection. All spaces were clean and comfortable. While it is a duplex, we did not hear any residual noise from the neighbors during our stay. The neighborhood is also very quiet. The location is just perfect - Two blocks from historical Main Street in St. Charles where you’ll find an abundance of restaurants, bars and shops. We had no issues during our stay and found the owner to be very prompt in providing instructions to access the property and other information for our stay. Would absolutely stay here again!
