I am a nature lover and explorer, so we came to hike trails along the blue ridge. It was the most gorgeous place to return to after our day was done. Nothing but private woodlands around you, as you sit on the back deck for the morning and evening hours when you aren't out and about! It makes a difference when you come back to a place that feels like home. Those places that are listed as "gems"....this is truly one of them! I could not have been happier with a location that was "home away from home" 3

This was the perfect cabin in the woods. Serenity and seclusion on 13 acres. When I got out of my car the silence was deafening. No man made noises, just nature and lots of it. Dear at dawn and dusk and a symphony of crickets and owls as the campfire roars. Usually the biggest disappointment at VRBO‘s is the furniture, it always seems to be the place where the hosts cut corners. Not here. From the comfy beds, to the solid and spacious leather couch the appointments were perfect for this cabin. We really enjoyed exploring the 13 acres. A lot of times you have to stay put in the immediate area but not here. The free range of the property was wonderful! Blue Ridge Beech cabin will be number one on our list when we get back to this area.

Nearly perfect cabin

My wife and I loved our 4-night stay here. The property was remote enough that we never saw another person, just us and nature. The cabin is exceptionally well decorated and stocked with on-theme books, puzzles, and games. Was all very well thought out - the switches were labeled, there's a map of the property on the fridge, and the bound guide is the most complete I've seen at a vacation rental. Very impressed all around. The only negatives worth noting are the ever-present wasps on the back porch, they seem to live in the attic above the porch, and the record player and/or speaker issue which prevented us from enjoy they well curated collection on property. There were plenty of other outdoor seating options away from wasps. Overall, this is an amazing place to get away for a while and read, play games, and enjoy the outdoors. Although we didn't need anything, Holly was always very quick to respond. Highly recommend.

Thank you so much for the kind and thoughtful review! We're thrilled to hear you both enjoyed the peaceful setting, thoughtful touches, and cozy atmosphere at the cabin. We also appreciate you bringing the wasps and speaker issue to our attention. Those have both been resolved! We've taken care of the wasps on the back porch, and there's now a new speaker hooked up to the record player so future guests can enjoy the full vinyl collection. Thanks again for staying with us, and we’d love to welcome you back anytime! —Holly, Pathway Properties

I'm Holly, a proud mother of three, an adventurer at heart, and someone who finds joy in discovering the world with my family. Traveling is more than just a passion for me; it’s a way of life. My husband and I met in college—Go Highlanders! As fellow Sagittarius, the spirit of exploration is in our blood, and we thrive on the excitement of uncovering new destinations, especially those that lead us to breathtaking hikes and outdoor experiences.

Our love for travel has naturally fallen into the lives of our children. They share in the excitement of packing bags, hitting the road, and embracing the thrill of the unknown. Together, we've stayed in countless short-term rentals, each experience inspiring us with ideas and possibilities. It was during one of these moments that we felt the “itch”—the desire to create a special getaway of our own.

With two very close families interested in purchasing a house in Afton, we jumped at the opportunity. What began as a simple venture turned into a learning experience in remodeling, hospitality, and the art of creating spaces where guests can feel at home. Once we completed our first property, "Time to Wine Down," I fell in love with hosting. There was something magical about welcoming guests, making their stays memorable, and sharing the beauty of the area.

That’s when everything clicked, and Pathway Properties was born. What started with one home grew into a mission to provide exceptional vacation experiences and to help others realize the potential of their own properties. We take pride in offering personalized, thoughtful service that reflects our genuine love for what we do.

Thank you for joining us on this journey. Whether you’re looking for a memorable stay or seeking guidance in vacation property management, we’re here to make your experience seamless, enjoyable, and unforgettable.

Here's to the adventures that await!

- Holly
