The Space:

Villa Bonheur offers three bedrooms, each with a comfortable king-size bed, and two bathrooms. The bright living room flows seamlessly into the open kitchen, which is fully equipped with a stovetop, refrigerator, freezer, oven, dishwasher, toaster, blender, coffee maker and an ice maker. Outside, you have access to a private garden, a spacious covered veranda, a terrace, an outdoor shower and an outdoor kitchen.

Good to know:

- No A/C in the living area: The bedrooms are kept nice and cool with air conditioning. In the living room, ceiling fans and the option to open the doors to the outdoors provide a very pleasant breeze.

- Distance to Kralendijk: Villa Bonheur is situated in the peaceful neighborhood of Oud Lagoen, which means Kralendijk is a short drive away. With a rental car you're there in no time, and the tranquility you get in return is well worth it.

- No dryer: There's no tumble dryer, but on Bonaire you honestly won't need one: the sun and trade winds do the job in no time and your laundry will be completely dry within hours.



Guest Access:

As a guest of Villa Bonheur, you have full access to the entire villa. This includes all three bedrooms, both bathrooms, the open kitchen, the living room and all outdoor spaces: the private garden, the covered veranda, the terrace and the outdoor kitchen. Of course, the private pool is entirely at the disposal of you and your travel companions. Free parking is available on the villa's own property. To give our guests a warm welcome and share everything they need to know about the property and our beautiful island, we handle all arrivals personally. The Neighborhood:

Villa Bonheur is located in Oud Lagoen, a quiet and leafy residential neighborhood on the northeastern side of Kralendijk. The area is characterized by spacious plots, low-rise buildings and a relaxed atmosphere, well away from the hustle and bustle, yet within convenient reach of Kralendijk and all the island has to offer. Oud Lagoen is a popular place to live among both locals and expats, partly thanks to its proximity to the coast and the open landscape. From the neighborhood, it's a quick drive to a range of dive sites, beaches and the main roads heading north and south across the island.



Villa Bonheur is approximately 2.5 kilometers from Van den Tweel supermarket, 3.5 kilometers from Dive Friends Yellow Submarine dive center, 3.7 kilometers from Chachacha Beach, 3.5 kilometers from the center of Kralendijk and 3.1 kilometers from It Rains Fishes restaurant.



Sunwise insider tip: Just a few minutes' drive from Villa Bonheur, you'll find the Donkey Sanctuary, a unique rescue center that has become one of Bonaire's most beloved day trips. Hundreds of donkeys roam freely across a large protected area, where visitors can get up close, pet them and even feed them. The sanctuary also shares the fascinating history of donkeys on Bonaire, as for centuries they were indispensable working animals on the island. A visit is a memorable experience for both children and adults alike. Be sure to check the opening hours before heading over.



Getting Around:

Bonaire and especially the hotspots like Washington Slagbaai National Park, the remote pristine beaches, and the kitesurf and windsurf locations, are best enjoyed with a rental car, as our lovely Caribbean island has so much more to offer beyond the immediate surroundings of Villa Bonheur. With your own car you can explore remote snorkel spots, dive sites and local restaurants at your own pace. We strongly recommend renting a car so you can get everywhere easily. Most roads on Bonaire are paved, but for nature areas like the park, a pickup truck or SUV is advisable. The park roads are unpaved and sometimes rough, making a regular car less suitable. There is no public transport on Bonaire and taxis are limited, especially on busy days when a cruise ship is in port.



Other Things to Note:

Check-in to Villa Bonheur is from 3:00 PM and check-out is until 10:00 AM. Early arrival or late departure may be possible on request, depending on other reservations.
