AMENITIES
Half Day Add-On available when adjacent nights are open — check in at 8 AM or check out at 6 PM for half the nightly rate.

WHAT TO KNOW BEFORE YOU BOOK
Check-in is after 3 PM. Check-out is before 10 AM.
The docks and boat launch across the road are private. The nearest boat launch is approximately 24 minutes away.
A rental agreement is required with ID verification within 48 hours of booking or before entry, whichever is first.
Inventory: We provide a "starter package" of inventory for our cabin: 3 rolls of T.P. and 1 full roll of paper towels.

We were looking for a relaxing getaway. This Shawnee Cottage was perfect!! It is private clean comfortable in the woods with amazing rock formations in the backyard. Plus it has a screened in porch and clean private hot tub! Close to Ferne Clyff St Park and Lake of Egypt. I would recommend it to couples looking for peace and quiet and being in nature. We hope to make it back!

Super cute cabin on beautiful property. The hot tub and fire pit were amazing after hiking all day and the landscaping was gorgeous. It was perfect for our romantic getaway!

The fire pit/grill area is up against a natural rock formation and is very pretty. The whole yard is very private and serene

We spent 2 lovely days here. Cooked the majority of our meals in the kitchen which was well stocked, though we could not get the electric kettle to work (could be user error?). The bed was very comfortable and the outside was beautiful and well laid out. We used the fire pit and the hot tub. Bought firewood at a grocery store in Goreville along with some steaks to cook. Close to some nice hikes. Very happy with our stay!

This was a trip we will remember! We loved the place and being able to just have a relaxing weekend getaway. We did travel during the winter storm - to which Allison was extremely helpful throughout all of it (offered a refund/move the date - we still came), made sure that if we needed any extra time/days that we were welcome to do so for our safety. Excellent communication.

The location was incredible! The home was super clean and well laid out. The bed was super comfy! Couch reclines and was so comfy. Beautiful outdoor space with a nice fire pit, chair with cupholders. The hot tub was lovely. Beautiful view of the stars. Loved waking up and having coffee on the enclosed back porch and watching birds drink our of the water fountain. Neighbors were all very friendly, when we did see them (very quiet neighborhood). We did see a bunch of tiny lizards too! Close to bigger towns (Marion) in case you need anything. Would definitely stay here again. Host was very communicative and accommodating. HIGHLY RECOMMEND :)

Everything was neat and well organized. Lighting outside was very well done, and the pictures do not do it justice. Very peaceful and quiet area. Inside was all modern appliances and furniture. Very clean. The closed in porch area was nice to keep you out of the rain with a good view also.

Cabin was very cozy and sparkling clean. We enjoyed the hot tub. Maybe it could’ve been a bit warmer. It got very cold on one of the days and the AC heat wasn’t enough. A space heater would’ve been amazing but overall still a good time to disconnect and recharge.

Cabin and outdoor area of cabin was perfect! Allison was in text contact with us for any needs we would have had, but there were none! Tastefully updated. Hot tub just the right size. Outdoor water feature was right outside the screened in porch for late evenings if you did not want to look at the lake.

Wonderful little cabin to get away from everything and just relax. Loved the screened in back porch. We were able to sit outside while it was raining and enjoy our breakfast. Dead end road so very minimal traffic.

Peaceful retreat

This cottage was the perfect retreat. It’s in a beautiful location, easy to get out and explore the local hiking trails. The outdoor patio and hot tub were amazing at night, very peaceful and quiet. Communication and instructions with the host were clear. We would definitely stay here again!
