The experience was delightful, the hosts were welcoming and personable, the building is strong, solid and historic, the kitchen is modern, very complete and easy to use, and the shower was spectacular. Overall, it was a delightful experience!

We love this location in Dunkirk! Beach front with a sandy beach and sea glass. Great sandbar. Dog friendly! BBQ, chairs, great view. The owners are so kind. A true gem. I highly recommend!

Our family had a wonderful stay. The owner was very helpful and had great recommendations. We enjoyed the peaceful home. The place was very clean and had everything we needed, plus more!

Great location, beach was rocky but then soft sand. Apartment was clean and well stocked with activities, spices and seasonings and plenty of dishes. Room air conditioners kept main rooms cool. Our dog enjoyed himself as well!

This historical property is a must see. Being that it is right on Lake Erie it offers one an amazing view and direct access to the beach and water. The 2 bedroom apartment we stayed in was cozy and very comfortable. Much of the furniture are period pieces making one feel like they had time travel to the 1930's.The owner thought of everything to keep you occupied regardless of the weather. The selection of outside yard games is amazing and if it happens to rain the list of inside activities includes; puzzles, paints, markers, binoculars, videos, books and the list goes on. One should never hear from the young ones, "I'm bored!"We enjoyed some of the local tourist activities including the Dunkirk Lighthouse tour, The Pier, Panama Rocks, a historical steamboat ride on Lake Chautauqua, and the numerous State Parks.

Lake Erie Peaceful Retreat

This is a very cool property rich in history with an awesome view directly on Lake Erie. We stayed an entire month & it was very accommodating for long term stays. We stayed in the large 2 bedroom apartment upstairs. There is also a smaller 1 bedroom apartment upstairs which we saw and was very cool as well. Any issues we had were addressed promptly by the property owner who was charming. The listing does state that there is a tennis court on property but if you are planning to play tennis, it is not operational. Overall we loved our stay here.

Like our own private lakeshore

If you want a peaceful relaxing getaway on Lake Erie, this is it. Getting to the lake was only steps from the house. It was like our own private lake and shore. The sunsets were amazing. The house is beautiful and the apartment meet our needs. It was very hot the week we visited and the lack of air conditioning was little unsettling. But the experience and time to relax was beneficial. Jules and Austin were very accommodating to our needs.

We offered a window A/C unit to the tenant toward the end of the stay which is now a standard inside of this unit. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Perfect location on Lake Erie, just steps to the beach. There is a large, well kept yard with Adirondack chairs. We were able to watch spectacular sunsets in the evening.The apartment itself has everything you might need. There is a large living room with ample seating and a small dining area within the kitchen. The hallway is shared with the other apartment which is really not a problem. One just has to be considerate of other guests staying there. The common areas are a little cluttered but as this includes games and outdoor stuff one cannot complain.This was our second stay and we would love to return.

If you are looking for a relaxing vacation this is the place for you. Directly located on the beach with soothing waves from the lake. The host provides almost everything you need for your stay from shaving cream, shampoo, to spices for you to cook with. It Kitchen is well stocked with utensils and cooking equipment. The host truly cares about your comfort and makes your stay relaxing. It was great to talk to the host about the property’s history and her recommendations for the area. We visited the towns of Erie and Buffalo which is not far from the house.

The property is private, quite unique, nearly a century old and rather historic to the community. There are lots of vintage treasures within the space and the house sits next to the beach. The room was very clean. The kitchen comes well stocked with everything imaginable for making everyday meals. The shower was wonderful.

Fantastic peaceful getaway in amazing historical home

Highly recommend this amazing location. Just as described, with great host and lots of little extras. We were privileged to be the last guests of the season. The fall colors were stunning and the charm of the home and the beauty and serenity of the made for a relaxing and serene week. A great place to recharge! Close to Niagara Falls, Allegeheny National Forest among others. Stunning sunsets, beach-combing (collecting sea glass), star gazing and learning about the history of this home are just a few of the perks. Would definitely book again.
