The house is a cute 1970s time capsule! Very comfortable seating areas and plenty of kayaks and equipment for our use. Well stocked kitchen. We enjoyed our time there.

Love this house! We have stayed before and were so happy with the new fencing and dog run! The hosts are amazing and quick to respond if anything is needed. Perfect location and a great house for the whole family!

Great weekend getaway

The house was a perfect place for a girls weekend getaway! Lots of space for relaxing and resting. We loved resting on the dock and in the hot tub! Just an overall wonderful experience!

Spacious and beautiful vacation home right on top of the lake.

Our family had a wonderful reunion this summer in the Brannholm home. Accommodations were wonderful and it was especially nice having some of our family stay in a rental right next door where we could share meals and later smores at the fire pit right on the lake. We would definitely rent this home again.

Amazing Scandinavian home that was better than we even hoped! The whole house was decorated amazing. Plenty of room for our family of 8 to hang out, eat and play. Extremely well stocked home - plenty of towels, cleaning supplies, and kitchen items. Cleanest bathtub I have ever seen! Amazing, Amazing, Amazing views! We saw birds, herons, fish, otters, eagles - all from the deck or house. House overlooks the dock and water so you can view it all from the comfort of the home if it is raining. We were able to kayak the lake on a few days. When the weather turned rainy, the house was more than comfortable for all of us to hang inside, play games, watch TV. John was extremely responsive to all our questions. Truly wonderful place to stay!

Wonderful house for the entire family. Lots of space inside and out! Great views! Fun Kayaking!! Plenty of space for corn hole! Found a perfect swimming hole. It was nice having the ice maker and a well stocked kitchen. The entire family enjoyed our stay. Thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful home!!

Glorious week away full of Family Fun

The view of the lake was amazing! The house was very comfortable with a fully stocked kitchen. Having a dog run was very convenient and the boat dock was perfect for fishing. I enjoyed Kayaking daily and when it was rainy we enjoyed the large kitchen table for puzzles and games. We will be back!

Unique House In Need Of Love

The positive, beautiful location. Unfortunately I would not stay again. The house and property are in poor shape and need regular maintenance performed. This place is a very well used vacation home that needs some TLC before it’s too late.

We always appreciate feedback from guests, and are always maintaining this historic home. However, we also pride ourselves in the ability to make things right if a guest is not delighted with the home. This guest promised to tell us immediately if he was disappointed in the home, and instead stayed for a rather long stay, kept quiet about whatever his disappointment was, and then left a "review bomb" instead. We are sorry he did not let us know about his disappointment and allow us to make it right.

Our stay at Brannholm

Absolutely stunning property!! Somehow more beautiful than the pictures. Every piece of furniture and art has been intentionally brought into the home to curate a specific style and vibe. The house is also full of beautiful live plants, which made the space feel even more open and homey. The kitchen was fully stocked with all the utensils and spices we needed, there were plenty of extra towels and blankets, and we had everything we needed to be comfortable. The view from the wall of windows is unbeatable, and having a cup of coffee on the balcony while watching the fog roll in was simply magical. We had such an amazing stay and kept remarking on how much we loved this place. Truly spectacular!!

AMAZING - AWESOME HOLIDAY

Our family rented this home for the Christmas holiday. This house has everything you'd want in a vacation home and more. The views out the huge windows are amazing from sunrise to sunset. When you walk in the first time the view will take your breath away. Spacious living & dining area with plenty of seating & perfect for entertaining. Plenty of room in the kitchen for multiple cooks plus lots of spices & condiments & cooking utensils for the variety of meals we prepared. Beds were incredibly comfortable with plenty of linens, bedding, towels & toiletries. The house was large enough to enjoy quiet time also. Our only regret was not getting to stay longer....We will definitely want to rent this home again.

The views and lake access were absolutely stunning with amazing sunsets. We spent hours on the deck watching nature pass by. The house also has one of the best stocked kitchens that we ever stayed at. The house had a very strong 70s motif (complete with 8-track player). If this is your style, you will absolutely love it, but it wasn't ours. There was also a bit of wear and tear throughout - sticking sliding doors, leaking shower stalls, wonky drawers, loose deck board nails, etc. Totally fine (and expected) if you're staying at your friend's cabin, but we were expecting something nicer for VRBO prices and the pictures don't show those details.

This 70s retro lake house was excellent! It was exactly as advertised, with beautiful views and easy access to the lake. Check-in and check-out were smooth, and the owners were friendly, responsive, and easy to reach. They provided kayaks, life jackets, and so much more, which made our stay even more enjoyable. We absolutely loved our time here and would definitely recommend this lake house to anyone looking for a relaxing and memorable getaway!

We thoroughly enjoy this home for multiple reasons: lake access w/kayaks, clean hot tub, extremely comfortable furniture & beds, cozy fireplace and well appointed kitchen. Host is very easy to reach if needed.

Needs attention

This location was great, and we think that probably back in the day it was fantastic, lots of room, beautiful view, etc. However, the musty smell upon entering was very strong and did not go away. Cobwebs everywhere outside (on patio furniture, all the window corners, bbq grill patio) made those areas unusable. The hot tub was great, very clean and the kitchen was well equipped. We were disappointed, and felt that the photos did not present a clear picture of the current conditions.

Great getaway

Great property. Large home, comfortable beds, great location and lovely views. The vintage atmosphere makes for a very casual comfortable stay. Oversized chairs and sofas made for very comfortable family time in the evenings. The large smart T.V. in the main sitting room was easy to use and my son hooked up his device and we played games all evening. The views during the day are so calming, watching the water and wildlife was a highlight. We saw sea otters, geese, bald eagles, ducks and ducklings swimming around the dock and fish breaching the surface of the water. The binoculars they provided were a big hit for watching the animals. Kayaking the lake and exploring was also a big hit. It was an easy checking in, the owners are wonderfully informative with the manual they provide and the binder in the house has lots of local options for food and activities. Being dog friendly was also a plus for us. Our little dog loved the dog run. It was a little overgrown but its also that time of year where everything is growing like crazy. The trail to the kayaks and the dock was also a bit overgrown. The overgrown trail and dog run were the only things we could slightly gripe about. Otherwise the property is just so pretty with all the plants and trees. I loved seeing the fruiting trees and bushes along side the flowers.

This property needs attention!

The view was stunning and the home was adequate. However we found the exterior to be overgrown making it difficult to utilize the lawn and get to the lake. Additionally the outside shower and gas grill were inoperable. On the inside the kitchen island was broken, ants and spiders prevalent. Outside furniture was not usable- very dirty.

Beautiful view of lake lots of room in house

Was a great place for my family to vacation. I only wish there wasn’t all the spiders and webs on the chairs to sit on and all around windows snd decks luckily spiders don’t scare me but did have a few drop on me on lower deck so didn’t use the deck

3 Years Married, 40 Years Alive

Celebrated our wedding anniversary and my 40th birthday with friends and family. The house is amazing and just our style! Beautiful when the sun is shining and cozy when the storm is blowing, comfortable and welcoming. We will be back to Brannholm!
