Birdcage è un'esclusiva casa sulla spiaggia a forma di ottagono giallo situata direttamente sulla spiaggia ea pochi passi dall'acqua. La pittoresca casa ha una vista diretta sul golfo dal soggiorno e un portico avvolgente. La casa è un bagno con 2 camere da letto 2 che può ospitare 10. La camera da letto principale ha un letto matrimoniale, la seconda camera ha due letti Queen (tutti e tre sono materassi touch postura acquistati a maggio 2014) e il soggiorno ha 2 divani letto.

Il nuovo tavolo da pranzo, le sedie, le opere d'arte e gli sgabelli da bar della sala da pranzo sono stati aggiunti nell'estate 2014.

Minimo 5 notti durante la stagione estiva.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Home was in great need of repairs and overpriced for the condition of the house - Good location and the office staff and maintenance staff were great - sorry I had to find out just how great they were - but the staff and maintenance were great !

It’s a great location. We had trouble trying to watch TV couldn’t find any instructions anywhere, they would have been helpful. The house needs some TLC especially the deck and some rotted siding. But overall we had a good visit.

Charming seaside cottage with flaws

Hear me out! Read entirely because I am starting with the cons! The salt air has definitely taken its toll on this home. Repairs are needed inside and out. Sugar ants take over the kitchen so keep food locked up tight. However, all of this adds to the charm of this home. It’s like a seaside cottage out of a children’s story book. Every room is colorful, the location is fantastic and it only took 3 minutes to walk to the water. A bonus was being able to include the family dog instead of boarding. If you can overlook some rotted boards, I highly recommend! Our stay was therapeutic in so many ways!

Second stay at The Birdcage

Reviewer Comments: This was our second stay at the birdcage and I have another review on it from back in 2022, so I won't repeat that review, but we loved it. Yes, the property is older and there are some things that could use some attention, but for the cost and where it's located, it's hard to beat. That stretch of West Beach Blvd is really peaceful and you have a ton of the beach to yourself just a few steps away.

I am able to look over most flaws when I can bring my dogs. The house was clean but a hurricane had just come through 2 days prior so the outside was a little neat up. Again I can bring my dogs so I could care less. I highly recommend this home to dog lovers.

When we drove up I was shocked that paint was peeling on the house. Around back the house has weather damage. Deck gave splinters. Garbage can stunk so bad. It was very dirty. Mold around metal part of shower. Cobwebs and pictures had hanging dust from them. Refridge smelled like fish. Floors need a good cleaning. Like others have stated about the holes. They are vent holes and need to have another board in it. The view and location is wonderful. But I wouldn’t stay their again unless it was fixed. Looks like they never fixed the damage from the hurricanes.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We absolutely loved our stay at the birdcage. I’m very partial to the smaller house rentals available because we like to actually get away on our trips and not take everyone we know with us, just so we can afford the place, LOL. That being the case, the size of the place was perfect for us (2 adults, 1 child) as well as the location. You’re right on the beach and that stretch of the Blvd is very quiet and not a ton of people or traffic. Makes relaxing very easy. The place is older and as such can be a little rough around the edges, but I really enjoy the uniqueness and personality of the older houses. Based on some of the other reviews and management responses, it seems some items have been updated this year, so everything was in good working order for us. The beds and the furniture were comfortable, and the AC was good and cold. We did have a couple of minor things we had to contact maintenance about, but they were out that day and took care of it. I will say the grill is not in the best of shape, which wasn’t an issue for us, but could be if anyone had plans to grill. Overall though, very satisfied and plan to return.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The Birdcage is an adorable house with an amazing location. The inside of the house was a bit dated but clean. Could use a good refinish on the floors. The back deck and stairs were in decent shape. The front stairs and some spots of the exterior of the house were in need of repair. Only a few things to complain about. For one where are (what I can only guess at) covered floor vents around the house, and one in particular right on the kitchen that was a little caved in.. Always had to be careful not to step on it. just weird. Also, the oven did not work so I ended up buying a toaster oven (needed one for home anyway). The biggest issue we had was a fishy smell from the refrigerator. We can only assume the previous renters were fishers and kept their catch in the fridge. The GS Rentals were great and came out to reclean the fridge and gave us some baking soda boxes, but the smell persisted for our entire stay. In turn the ice from the ice maker also had this fishy smell so we had to buy ice for drinks as well as coolers.Overall we loved our stay at the Birdcage and WILL BE BACK. The beach view was excellent. The house was very clean and neat. Although the outside walls around the deck facing the ocean is in much red of repair. There was a roof leak in guest bedroom on last night from heavy rain. But overall no big problems and I probably would stay there again.

Unique older house with unbeatable location

We picked the Birdcage location because of the location and they allowed our dogs to stay. The house is older and could use some work on the outside, especially on the porch. The inside is so charming and unique! The house was very clean upon arrival. You can not beat the location of this house! The beach is just a few steps from the house and this part of the beach is not crowded. Everyday we had at least 100 feet (if not more) between us and the neighbors beach canopies. We can not wait to return to the Birdcage for another relaxing beach weekend!

I had booked another property thru VRBO at Dauphin Island, Alabama and we were within an hour of arriving there, I received a call and was told there was an issue with the plumbing and there would be no water for 2 days. In a panic I started searching for house rentals in Gulf Shores that would accommodate 2 dogs along with 3 adults and 1 child and we needed it starting that night and the next 7 nights. I called the Gulf Shores Rental company and spoke with William and told him my situation and he said he did have availability at the house that was called “Birdcage.” He took all my information over the phone and within 30 minutes we were on our way to our new destination. We arrived to find a wonderful place that was right on the beach and had everything we needed to make it a memorable vacation. To William and the Gulf Shores Rentals team, thank you all for everything.

Needs major work, but nice location

Overall location was great. No issues finding, no crowds on beach. My main concern is with safety. A variety of things should be repaired including the front hand rail which is completely disconnected from the porch railings and the large holes in the walls of the house on the back porch. We also had an ant issues from day one, which the remediation for that was to drop off a can of ant spray. I realize the house is pet friendly, but it just felt unclean and the couch was covered in dog hair. Overall, house isn’t worth the nightly rate, but the location is.
