We enjoyed our stay, Rusty was so easy to talk with and has quite a bit of information for the area attractions. The kitchen had all the amenities we needed, and the washer and dryer were such a nice set. The bedroom had a great bed we slept so well and we liked the large shower. The driveway is steep, and there are stairs to enter the house, we are in our 60’s and it was no problem for us. We would definitely stay here again!

I enjoyed my stay very much. I needed a quiet, restful place and this sweet little cottage, among the trees, delivered. I appreciated the laundry facilities and a fully functional kitchen too!

This beautiful little cottage was a gift when we needed to make changes in vacation plans. Rusty is an exceptional communicator, she graciously accepted the last-minute request for our stay and helped us troubleshoot an issue, all while she was on vacation herself! As a couple who had never explored Marin County, this cottage was the perfect home away from home base for our adventures. The neighborhood and surrounding redwood trees lend a cool and tranquil feel to the cottage, and very importantly, the bed is so comfortable! A huge thank you to Rusty for her hospitality, communication, and her role making this an idyllic stay!

It was my 2nd time staying at the cottage and again, it did not disappoint! It's a very comfortable spot. The location is great - so nice to walk on the bike path through Bothin Marsh! - and easy to walk to Tam Junction for coffee, groceries, or Shoreline Diner. My favorite aspect of the cottage is the small deck that is just perfect for breathing in the night (or morning) air while enjoying the redwoods. I highly recommend!

Amazing and exceptional!! Clean and cozy home. Peaceful neighborhood, close to hiking trails, shopping and restaurants. Also very close to San Francisco. The place had all the amenities necessary for our 10 day stay. Rusty was also great to deal with and was always available to communicate if we had any questions. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend.

We spent a few nites here at this lovely cottage. The location is perfect! It’s nestled in the trees and there are even redwoods on the front lawn! The neighborhood is super quiet and having parking was a big plus. We were about a 10 minute ride to the larkspur ferry (that got us right into the city without the parking or traffic) you are also close enough to the coast (Muir woods, Muir beach, mount tam etc) Inside the cottage- was great! It’s a tiny space good for one or 2 travelers. The bed was king size and very comfortable the shower was soothing after a long day of outdoor play and having a W/D was a big plus. There is even a small balcony to enjoy morning coffee while watching the neighborhood deer and listening to the birds. Rusty keeps her cottage in tip-top shape and was quick to respond to any questions. It’s was a good place to stay-it felt like home. Clean quiet and comfortable

Communication with the host was excellent. There was covered parking and, although we didn't end up using it, there was a secure place to store our bicycles. The house was well equipped and the bed comfortable. Cozy does describe the place, but it has everything you need. The neighborhood felt very safe and was centrally located in Mill Valley. The few minor issues for some people might be the very steep driveway, a full flight of stairs to the unit and a slightly tight squeeze between the shower and the bathroom sink. Overall an enjoyable stay

Very nice place to stay

My wife and I had a wonderful time visiting family and we loved staying at Almonte. Host was most helpful and place was clean and convienent. Very comfortable bed. Looking forward to a return visit. .

A Great Home Away From Home!

Great location and great cabin, we found everything you could possibly need and more. Truly enjoyed staying there and after our day trips to San Francisco we where happy to get back 'Home' to a nice and normal neighborhood. the rates are also very reasonable and the homey feeling we got beets any hotel.

Wonderful Stay

The cottage was perfect … quiet, peaceful, ample amenities, and convenient to town and area attractions. The accommodations were very comfortable, and our host Rusty offered helpful tips and was very responsive to questions. Overall, an excellent value. We would definitely like to stay again during our next visit to Mill Valley.

Perfect little “treehouse” for our family vacation!

Beautiful spot in the forest! The house had a great view of the trees and we loved all the fresh air. The inside was cozy and the office was a nice extra room to have! Everything was very clean. We would definitely stay here again.

Solitude and quietness

Waking to the soft chewing of the deer munching on grass - but otherwise sooo quiet and the BEST bed. Very central to everything - Wild walks, restaurants, fantastic cottage.

Treehouse feel with lovely accommodations

Terrific place!

Just the right size for the two of us and well located and maintained, Rusty's cottage was an excellent base for our exploration of Muir Woods and forays into the city. Rusty communicated well with us before and during the stay and ensured that all of our questions were answered and all needs were met. We look forward to a return visit!.

A San Francisco Retreat

My husband and I were looking for a relaxing getaway with ease of access to San Francisco. Could not have asked for a more perfect location - easy travel by car AND ferry - and away from the downtown chaos. The treehouse was peaceful and perfect to R&R before and after running around the city. Hosts were awesome and super responsive, making the trip that much more enjoyable.

Pleasant mill valley getaway

The cabin was a lovely small apartment in a charming quintessentially Californian neighborhood. Some highlights were a nice big shower with great water action, and a very comfortable bed. Rusty was attentive. Highly recommend for couples.
