The listing does note that the backyard, BBQ, and hot tub are shared with another rental on the property so guests know what to expect. Thanks for a nice review, not sure how the third bedroom lacked privacy, it does have a door. Guests can always book the cottage as a super comfortable option for family or friends but it's a personal choice. Next year grab the house and cottage. Jonathan

HI Kiim Sorry that I was away and up in the hospital for all November and could not do my weekly welcome and orientation to our property. after 15 years and numerous 5 stars, we have a pretty well reviewed guest home on Maui. My daughter / manager was also with me at the hospital, stressing over my four surgeries. Like all Hotels, Condos and Homes on Maui, We are obligated to participate in a " Good Neighbor Atmosphere" ! The One thing that is Prohibited is Excessive Late Night Noise. When two of our neighbors called us and complained about excess noise at 11:30 pm. My daughter called you from the hospital to explain the rules. Wish I was there and could have PR'd it a bit but phone calls from neighbors are serious and can put us in violation. As to every thing else ... You can chill in the hot tub quietly until Dawn, you can have backyard breakfast at Daybreak, the bikes should always be pointed North Bound never South Bound into town , it's a 20 miles of coastal bike lanes. Sorry I wasn't there to welcome you but we did kick some Cancer Butt! Aloha Jonathan l

THANK YOU FOR THE REVIEW. We have been listed on VRBO/HOME AWAY for almost 15 years now and have always offered both a house and cottage to our guests. I do apologize that option was not clear to you when you booked your stay. Just to clarify some other points: The “Room” you mention is actually our beautiful one bedroom “Honeymoon Style” Luxury Jacuzzi Cottage (#45805) which is available to larger families that require an extra bedroom or may just want exclusive use of the property during their stay. It sits in it’s own footprint and shares no common walls or floors with the main house, As a result, There is Zero Noise Transmission! If the house and cottage are rented by two separate guest parties, then there is never more than two people staying in the cottage. Also. I do not live on the property but I was on island for the holidays both visiting my family, maintaining the property and assuring that our guests are well cared for during the Holiday Season. Hopefully next year. you’ll bring another couple or spread out yourselves and book the Jacuzzi Cottage for mom and dad and have the house for the rest of your friends and family. That’s a pretty sweet “Family Gathering” and one of the key benefits of our property. Thank you again for your business and the Turkey Soup! Jonathan

david thanks so much for writing a review of your stay at our property. i think you and your friends enjoyed the property more than any other guests that i can recall. the hot tub was always in use, dining and barbecuing in the backyard was an almost nightly thing, yoga and sunbathing in the privacy of our fenced yard, in the end it really was a pleasure to see a group of guests enjoying all the toys and amenities but more than that to know that the experience we provide for guests can't be found in most vacation rentals and that you had a home to call your own for a week on Maui. David, you are absolutely correct, our photos just don't do justice to the real life experience of staying at our property. thank everyone for leaving the property in perfect condition, you're all welcome back at anytime. mahalo jonathan
