This home is wonderfully maintained. We all enjoyed the pool and the remarkable view. The beach is a short walk away. My 18 year old grandson dove for 5 days, got an advanced certification and had a great adventure seeing sharks and rays up close. Our favorite French restaurant is La Cigale near the gas station. We appreciate Ed’s communication and his help with checking in and out. We especially appreciate not having a list of tasks to do at checkout! Great place!

Absolutely fabulous location & accomodations

We loved the short walk to the beach. The pool was refreshing and nice sized. Close proximity to great restaurants. All the recommendations by the host were SPOT ON.

2nd time at Bijou

Another enjoyable stay at Bijou, so comfortable and luxurious - the amazing view, the well equipped kitchen for our family meals, the pool, & the attentive service from Cindy and Ed, thanks to Lyndy and Charlie for sharing their home with us!

Villa Bijou in April/May

Villa Bijou was fantastic. The property is better even than the listing shows. Ed was indispensable, he was available for questions and responded so quickly with amazing advice. Already planning to come back to the villa next year!

16 Days in Paradise!

We had the most amazing time in St. Martin while staying at Bijou. The beautiful villa, the outstanding view, the exceptional and attentive management made our time there unforgettable! We will definitely look forward to returning and choosing Bijou as our villa again.

We had a great time staying here. The house is incredible and the views from the back patio were truly one of a kind. The host was very quick to respond to any questions concerns that we had from start to finish. The location is in the more tranquil part of the island where there is much less traffic than other parts of the island. Overall, it's a 5 star house that made our stay a 5 star vacation. Pictures dont do justice to how georgeous this place is. When you arrive there, the host welcomes you with food supplies to get by a couple days (fruits, coockies, eggs, milk, bread, butter, bacon). Just above and beyong what any other Vrbo does. Excellent experience and place was spotless clean.

Great Time at Bijou

This was our second visit to Bijou (first one since the hurricane) and everything was as nice as before. The owner and her onsite staff are very nice and respond quickly. It's in a great location for most of the better beaches on the island. Only minor issue is that the TV is not cable anymore; it's only streaming services so if you need to watch sports or news, you might be out of luck. Two fantastic restaurants to recommend; 1) Be Kool - fantastic French food and pretty reasonable, too. 2) Spices of India - you can't find better Indian cuisine in the US compared to this place. Surprisingly fantastic.

Truly a Quiet Gem

The other reviews here are completely accurate - this is a wonderful clean, quiet and safe villa just the right distance from Marigot and all it has to offer. Baie Rouge is one of the best beaches on the island in our experience - the remote location and clear waters are worth it. (And...no jet skiiers!) The fact you can walk there from your villa is one of the best features here. The owner and property manager were a joy to work with - they're very responsive to any questions you have. All the conveniences and appliances are up to date and fully working. The beds are incredibly comfortable! We will definitely be back to SXM and Villa Bijou will be our first choice.

A Little Slice of Heaven

The view is outstanding. The house has everything you need for a comfortable relaxing stay. St Martin is a very beach location but the private pool was a plus. You are within a 5 min walk to Baie Rouge Beach. To us... it was one of the nicest beaches on the island. The welcome basket was another plus!!! After a long day of travel the last thing we wanted to do was to have to find a grocery store. It was above and beyond. The location was a perfect balance between the French and Dutch. We felt very safe. Ed was very attentive to anything we needed and all of our island questions. We would definitely return to Lyndy and Charlie's paradise.

Beautiful villa close to the best beach in St. Martin!

This was our second visit to Bijou and we loved it every bit as much as we did the first time. Lyndy, Sandra and Eugene went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. The view is spectacular and the villa is well appointed. There is a wonderful Patisserie just down the street and Chez Raymond's food and happy hour frozen drinks at Baie Rouge can't be beat!! We visited almost every beach in St. Martin and St. Maarten, and found that Baie Rouge is our favorite, which is just a short walk down the road! The only reason I would not give 5 stars is the noisy birds outside the windows! Eugene and Sandra have assured us that they will have the issue taken care of, so we will definitely be returning if that is the case!

The best VIEW....and so much more

We have stayed in a number of villas on St Martin and by far VILLA BIJOU had the best view. From anyplace in the main house and especially on the pool deck the view was spectacular. We very much enjoyed seeing the iguanas nesting in the tree tops and scurrying about the entire property. The villa had all of the amenities that you could want...and more. The cupboards are well stocked with everything you might need. The welcome basket is a nice touch. It's really in a good location and Baie Rouge (one of our favorite beaches) is just a short walk away. We used all three bedrooms including the cottage and we were all very happy with our accommodations. We certainly hope to return to VILLA BIJOU in the future and it is highly recommended.

Christmas in Terres Basses

First of all, the views from the house are just stunning. The owner Lyndy was very good at communtication and answered all of my questions. We walked in and she had a basket full of fruit and yummy treats and some things in the refrigerator. This was so nice as all of the stores were closed because it was Christmas day. Ed checked us in and showed us everything we needed to know about the house. The house was stocked with everything we needed for our stay. Plus is was very clean. Cindy (house keeper) came 2 times during our stay, which was so nice. She also scheduled us a driver for New Years Eve. My family loved the outdoor shower. Also the house is very maintained and clean. We would definitely come back and rent from Lyndy.

We're so happy we found and chose Bijou!

As so many previous guests wrote, this was the best and most thoughtfully supplied vacation rental we've ever stayed in. We did a lot of cooking and really appreciated the staples & spices already in the cabinets, as well as the welcome basket--the most lavish ever--the fresh pineapple lasted us the whole time! The views were amazing from every angle; we were quite content to just stay there & not leave that tranquil & serene environment. Soft cushy towels, comfortable beds, plenty of storage space. The cottage worked perfectly for the part of our stay when family joined us. The kitchen has plenty of space for 4 adults to prep . Our 3-year-old granddaughter spent hours in the pool improving her swimming skills and has already emphatically informed us she will be returning. Having Cindy the cleaner come twice while we were there to refresh everything was quite a treat. Property manager Ed responded promptly if we had any questions and when a sink pipe clog repair was needed he came by at night and devised a creative solution that got everything working again. How a maintenance team functions normally is one thing, how they respond to an unexpected, (and rare) problem is another, a true test, and we were very impressed. Pool and garden were attended to throughout our stay--very luxurious for us as we are DIY at home. As Americans the 110v power was a major convenience. We're already planning another stay at Bijou and next time for longer than 10 days! Thank you Lyndy!

Have stayed before, will stay again!

My husband and I stayed at Bijou several times up until it was rented long-term a few years ago. We were very happy to see it available again for a short-term rental, and even more pleased when Lyndy actually remembered us! The villa has outstanding views, the pool is in full sun all day (but the patio is well-shaded if you need to get out of the sun), and the house is well-built and well-maintained. It was just the two of us at Bijou so we only rent the main house. We had an issue with the electronic gate during our stay; the property managers were easy to get in touch with using the cell phone that was provided to us, and the gate was fixed within a few days--we were there over a holiday, so we weren't surprised that it wasn't fixed immediately. Cindy, the housekeeper, is delightful. In addition to the cell phone to use during our stay, we were greeted with a lovely note welcoming us, a basket full of fruit and snacks, and a refrigerator stocked with bottled water and eggs and juice (and probably some other items that I'm now forgetting). We had a chef from Fabulous Feasts cook dinner for us at the house, and he was appreciative of the fully outfitted kitchen and the barbecue grill. Other villas we've stayed in on St. Martin do not have kitchens as well-equipped, or they have malfunctioning equipment. This is not the case at Bijou--pots, pans, utensils, dishes, oven, range, microwave, dishwasher. Every little thing has been thought of by Lyndy: shampoo, conditioner, soap, hair dryer, iron, excellent washer and dryer, the cell phone (which works on both sides of the island), the robust wi-fi, recommendations and suggestions and tips--everything is in the detailed notebook left for us. The villa is situated on a hill near Baie Rouge that is at the end of the straightaway on the main road; you do hear road noise, most annoyingly motorcycles who race down the straightaway late at night (and sometimes early in the morning). But we knew this from having stayed there before and it is certainly not a deal-breaker for us. We went to the beach at Baie Rouge several times. There is more development on the beach--a beach bar and restaurant--and it was nice to be able to get refreshments. Renting other villas on St. Martin while Bijou was unavailable has confirmed for us what a gem Bijou is. I think, in total, we've stayed there five times now, and we will certainly stay again! Also, I'm glad that your stays at other villas confirmed for you "what a gem Bijou is", and that you appreciated the outstanding views and pool location, welcome basket, fully outfitted kitchen and barbecue grill, robust Wi-Fi, recommendations and suggestions in the notebook, and all of the small things to make your stay enjoyable. We have made many changes to the villa since you stayed before. One of them was to change the manual gate to an electronic gate. Although we found the old gate charming, the new one is much more convenient...unless the electricity goes out on the island and the back-up battery doesn't work. Apparently there were still some bugs to work out with this. I'm so sorry you had an issue with it during your stay but happy it was resolved in a reasonable amount of time. We will be staying at Bijou several weeks this summer and will make sure this and any other issues are fully resolved. The location of Bijou, on a hill only a 3-minute walk from Baie Rouge, is one of the best on the island. However, as you said, there is road noise. We've found that we tune it out and it is not annoying, unless the motorcycles are racing. I have addressed this issue with the Association for the area in the past and will keep trying in an effort to have speed bumps installed on the straightaway of the main road. In the meantime, I am glad it is not a deal breaker for you! It was a pleasure having you stay at Villa Bijou again, and I look forward to welcoming you back for your next vacation! Wonderful

Villa Bijou was just what we needed. Very relaxing and comfortable. Location was perfect for us. I’m a Chef, kitchen was perfect and had everything I need to prepare meals. And a lovely set of sharp knives always makes me a happy camper. The only thing we missed a little was not having cable or satellite at the Villa so we could watch The Masters Tournament, no big deal, it got us away from TV and more pool time…

Second stay

This is a great property. The view is special. To get up every morning and see this view is special. The property is convenient and Baie Rouge was great while we were there. It is nice that the community is behind a security gate at night. We will definitely be back. Thanks to Lyndy and to Ed for all the help!!!

Perfect base for exploring St Maarten

We greatly enjoyed our stay here. The house is lovely, the pool very nice, and the views are stunning. The location is also very convenient, a short walk to the beach and a short car ride to the bakery, shops, restaurants etc.

Excellent property

The house was beautiful. Had everything we needed and more. Especially loved the welcome basket, the extra left over sunscreen and bug spray from other guests and ALL the spices we had to cook with. This place was the best stocked house we have ever rented. Quiet area and view was beautiful. The beach was fantastic as well. We didn't want to leave.
