Se stai cercando una fuga classica di montagna, con una splendida posizione nella Foresta Nazionale Nantahala - sul Lago Nantahala - questo è il tuo posto! Da 'classico' si intende che è stato costruito dai nipoti dei nostri figli come casa di montagna e base di pesca negli anni '60. NON è un milione di dollari McMansion lanciato alcuni anni fa che costerà una fortuna da affittare. E 'la nostra casa di famiglia. E, siamo felici di affittarti.

Questa vacanza di fuga si trova sul Lago Nantahala con accesso diretto a un molo privato e di una splendida vista sul lago e sulle montagne. Il lago può essere apprezzato per nuotare, pescare e andare in barca. Molte altre attività all'aria aperta sono a portata di mano.

La posizione della casa sul lago è qualcosa di speciale, un luogo dove si può ritirarsi per allontanarsi dalla macinatura della vita normale. È una vera fuga, immersa in uno stand di enormi alberi di pioppo con vista sulla grande area del lago di fronte alla diga lontana. Le ore si sciolgono mentre si stabilirà in una vita di informalità montana, in un ambiente naturale fantastico e nella meravigliosa comunione con la famiglia e gli amici.

La casa era una delle prime proprietà costruite sul lago, ed è stata mantenuta e aggiornata con comfort moderni. La casa a due piani è ideale per famiglie e gruppi di amici. Il livello superiore (carreggiata) ha due camere da letto e una grande zona notte con letto a scomparsa, due letti singoli e un divano letto. Il livello inferiore presenta una camera familiare con camino a legna, una grande cucina ben attrezzata e un patio esterno con vista sul lago con griglia a gas. Ha tutto il carattere di una cabina di montagna familiare, con funzioni aggiunte come cucina ristrutturata, lavatrice / asciugatrice, TV satellitare e DVD / videoregistratore.

L'atterraggio pubblico della barca è nelle vicinanze, in 5 minuti in auto o in una breve passeggiata di 15 minuti. Una canoa è inclusa insieme a pale e dispositivi di galleggiamento personale.

When we arrived and walked in, the place had not been cleaned after previous guests. we called and explained the situation. They were very apologetic and we were offered several alternatives, but with 2 dogs, options are limited. They had 3 cleaners there within 1/2 hour and quickly had it cleaned and ready. Bev checked back with us to make sure we were satisfied and offered a complimentary meal at the Lakes End Cafe and Grill. The food was amazing! The outside property could be cleaned up a bit - dock a kayaks could use a power wash- the view on the lake is beautiful! we would recommend this property to others and if we are ever in the area again , would use it again. Thanks.

Great Family Vacation Home

This family-friendly property was a great affordable option for our family of 4 that could easily fit 3-4 more guests. The remote location might mean low cell reception, but also offers amazing views from large windows on both floors.

My family and 2 dogs stayed here, and it was simply heaven. We spent all days on the water, as it was just a walk away from the dock. The fishing was incredible, and we did not want to leave! We will definitely return!

Property is beautiful. I wanted to let others know there is no yard and the parking is 2 cars only, stacked one infront of the other (not side by side). Also, do not try to look for this place or any other place in this area at night. There is no cell phone reception so make sure to screenshot directions 30 mins out. This place is 2 level. The 2 bedrooms and 1 full bath are upstairs and the kitchen and access to back area is downstairs. The stairs are steep and is not safe for a toddler. I had my 20 month old grandson and the house is not baby proof. We did enjoy our stay and it had everything you could possibly need. It’s just not safe for littles. The fishing deck was not attached to the land and the stone stairs outside are steep. Just a heads up. Again, it’s great for teenagers and adults.

Hi, We are happy you enjoyed your stay and thank you for the feedback. The parking allows for up to 3 vehicles to park without blocking the the driveway. Cars do indeed need to be "stacked", so shuffling vehicles may be required. We have added parking instructions to the welcome information. Yes, there is no mobile phone coverage in the Nantahala area, and it is a good idea to download your map data before heading up. With that said, we have added detailed driving instructions to our welcome information. We do indeed have stairs, and while we have had generations of little ones up there, it is true that children (and older people) have to be extra careful. We will be purchasing a child gate for the top of the stairs and add them to the crib we provide for guests. Regarding the dock, unfortunately Duke Power raises and lowers the lake periodically and, while this doesn't happen often because we monitor the dock, sometimes it does get hung up on the bank. Our apologies for any inconvenience. Thank you for your feedback and we hope to have you up again!

Great lakefront cabin

LaRue's cabin is just what we wanted for our lakefront stay. The lower level provides easy lake access and a nice clay tile floor, which is just what we and our wet dogs needed. The well-stocked kitchen was especially appreciated. LaRue is a very helpful host. Unfortunately, we had to cut our stay short, but we are looking forward to returning soon!

It was perfect.

We really enjoyed our stay. The view from the dock (morning sunrises!), time on the lake, games and daily outings. We enjoyed the lake house as well. It isn't fancy but its homey and clean and actually reminded us of people we love (grand parents). No wifi was fine with us! Step back in time, forcing us to unwind. The kids had a blast too.

Can't wait to come back

The house was perfect for our group. The kitchen had EVERYTHING and was so organized. The big windows of the lake were breathtaking. The staircase to the dock was beautiful and the dock and the lake were so much fun for swimming and playing in the lake. The house itself feels like a true homeplace and I can only imagine the memories that have been made. We felt so lucky to detach from screens and unwind. Thank you!

Great location for our event. Great communication with the owner. Very out dated furniture and rugs. Place had a very strong musty/moldy smell that caused us all to be stuffy and sneezing frequently. I would not choose to stay here again.

Step back in time

We all loved our stay. We had 4 “kids” in their 20’s plus my hubby and dogs. My daughter said it was like being in the movie cheaper by the dozen. The lake is beautiful, and the house was extremely well equipped. It is definitely no frills, like staying in your grandma’s lake house, but that is the charm. One suggestion is to pre print all the maps you will need to get to hikes, recreation, and your trip home. Not having google maps was the hardest part of unplugging for me!

Classic Lake House

Wonderful stay! Great dock for swimming and has a nice canoe. Kitchen has everything you need. It's a well loved and cared for family cabin. Clean. You may say dated, I say Classic. Cooking dinner with the family while dancing to 70's dance party CDs 1 AND 2!! That's Classic. Owner is great with good communication. Wifi worked for us and it has a land line. Do yourself a favor and put your cell phone away, you're at the lake now! Will definitely return!!

Great family place

Our family of four stayed at this lovely cabin and had a wonderful trip. We went to spend time together as a family, as we don’t see each other as often anymore, and we had a great time on the peaceful lake or looking out at the view. Though wifi would have been nice, we all agreed that we didn’t really miss having Wi-Fi or television while we stayed there. Everything we needed was found at the house, there were plenty of games, VHS tapes and DVDs, kitchen utensils, bathroom appliances, etc. If you plan to watch a lot of movies, you may want to bring some DVDs of your own, but we only watched a movie one night because we spent most of our time outdoor. The lake view is so beautiful and calming, there’s no better place to relax and spend time with family. We would go back again!

Perché ha scelto questa struttura

The house was built by our father and mother when there were only a few houses on the lake. The land it was built on was part of a large tract of land that our parents bought back when the Nantahala Lake was known to only a few local mountain folk. It has been in our family ever since.

To say that there are countless memories of visits and gatherings of family and friends is a huge understatement. We gather here during three seasons (it's a bit cold in the winter so it is generally closed then) and enjoy the wonderful scenery and all that mountain fresh air.

This house is a true treasure and was built by our father and other local mountain men. The stone steps to the lake were laid by a local mason. The trees, including two apple trees and a pear tree, were planted by our father. And to this day I tend to and add to our mother's wonderful selection of native plants that add different colors to the landscape throughout the year.
