This is our fourth year renting this unit and more than six years of booking through Stubbs Vacation Rentals. We have high praise for the Stubbs Vacation Rentals team. They are accessible, polite, and efficient, providing excellent service both before and during our vacations.We continue to enjoy our stay along Solana Beach, and this rental unit remains in a great location. Unfortunately, the condition of the property itself has declined. The buildings are approximately 50 years old and appears to be suffering from deferred maintenance.During our stay, the jacuzzi was closed the entire time, with no visible work being performed. Garbage collection continues to be an issue, with trash chutes backed up to the third floor, creating an unpleasant situation and a potential fire hazard. Plumbing issues that have existed in the past have now affected the bathrooms. One bathroom was inoperable for nearly a week, and lingering odors suggest the issue may not be fully resolved.Roof repairs also required scheduled inspections and touch-ups inside the unit. We understand maintenance is necessary, but it was disappointing to have this work scheduled during peak vacation season.The unit itself is clean and well appointed. The kitchen is nicely equipped, and the new microwave was appreciated. All appliances are functioning properly.A few small improvements would make the stay easier for guests. Providing basic cleaning supplies and a vacuum would be helpful, especially since this area is prone to ants and guests need a way to clean crumbs from the carpet.We have truly enjoyed this unit over the past four years, which makes it disappointing to see the decline of the property. We hope the owners will address these concerns because we would like to continue staying here. However, if the condition continues to deteriorate, we may need to consider another property in the future.
