Scopri la parte più bella delle montagne in questa storica capanna di tronchi del XIX secolo. Immaginati in questa autentica baita del 1928 circondata da oggetti d'antiquariato d'epoca Smokey Mountain che decorano la cabina. Costruita nel 1928 e completamente rinnovata nel 2015, questa cabina è davvero speciale. Siamo stati in grado di ripristinare la lucentezza originale delle pareti di tronchi tagliati a mano e del camino in pietra, e quindi abbiamo aggiunto solo alcune comodità moderne. Abbiamo completamente rinnovato la cucina e il nuovo bagno è dotato di una fantastica doccia in pietra. Un nuovo letto matrimoniale e un nuovo materasso pillow top assicureranno un soggiorno perfettamente confortevole. E ... se devi assolutamente portare i bambini, c'è un divano letto e materassi ad aria.

Hickory Nut Lodge è situato in una storica comunità montana che risale al 1920. Questa cabina ha una ricca storia, piena di folklore speziato che vorremmo condividere con te. Situato in posizione strategica a 12 miglia da Asheville e 8 miglia da Chimney Rock e Lake Lure. Questa storica baita è perfetta per chi vuole essere in montagna ma abbastanza vicino ad Asheville per godersi tutto ciò che la città ha da offrire.

Ammira la vista della piccola montagna di Pisgah dalla sedia a dondolo della veranda. Goditi romantici barbecue sul ponte o rilassati sotto le stelle nella tua vasca idromassaggio privata. Se stai cercando una fuga romantica, questa autentica baita del 1928 è il posto giusto! Hickory Nut Lodge è tutto ciò per cui vieni ad Asheville e sicuramente supererà le tue aspettative più sfrenate e ovviamente gli animali domestici sono sempre i benvenuti. NOTA BENE: è prevista una commissione per animali domestici di $ 75 una volta.

NOTARE CHE; La porta d'ingresso è al livello superiore. La porta al piano inferiore è la tua lavanderia. Abbiamo un parcheggio per una (1) sola macchina, è proprio di fronte alla cabina. Questa cabina si trova in una comunità montana. La trazione integrale è fortemente consigliata nei mesi invernali. Se nevica ne avrai bisogno.

Property was really nice. Access ability was very misstated. You were required to access via a very poor gravel road with 10-12” ruts. Wheels spun many times trying to get thru. Parking said for one car…ok if u gave a VW bug. That’s all that fits. Tried to park to allow neighbors access but then couldn’t open car door. Had to back down access road since no turn around. Would not revisit unless changed.

My Wife and I really enjoyed our stay here, this little ole cabin up in Gerton was cozy and warm. The fireplace gives it life. Fantastic place to come and reset, relax, and read your favorite book. Bring your dog! Our dog had a blast with the walks and hikes near by! With Chimney Rock and Bearwallow, you won’t miss out on the amazing views. Bat Cave has some awesome people and food! Get to know the people, they are humble and kind, always sharing their lives and expertise. And when you are exhausted from a beautiful day, you always have that cozy cabin to come back to! We loved every second of it! Thank you for the stay and we will definitely be back!

Cabin rental

The road to the cabin had been washed out so we could not get to it. The host offered to let us stay at another cabin they had which was unrented. We just paid more for cleaning and stayed there. The cabin was well supplied with everything you need. We loved it and really enjoyed staying there. We hope to stay there again sometime in the future.

Perfect getaway

The cabin was the perfect combination of rustic cabin and modern upgrades/conveniences. Less than 20 minutes down to Chimney Rock. We can’t rave enough about the Far Nectar venue nearby and the coffee shop right by the house. We will definitely be coming back!

Had a very enjoyable stay. A little farther from Asheville due to windy mountain roads than what we wanted but we made it work. We kinda stumbled upon the Chimney Rock downtown area and had a great afternoon exploring there as well. Overall we loved the cabin, the amenities but parking needs a little work, we were warned it was tricky so it wasn’t a surprise when we first got there and almost got stuck. I’d stay here again when we want to hike!!

Perfect for a Romantic Getaway

We had a great time at the adorable little cabin in the mountains! It was perfect for a romantic anniversary getaway. It’s small, but very thoughtfully done and was just the right size for the two of us. It would have been a bit cramped for more than two, but was exactly what we were looking for. We loved sitting out on the deck and enjoyed the hot tub under the stars. The parking spot in front was pretty intimidating for me to navigate, so I made my husband do it each day! :). We had a great time and loved our pick for this trip!

Peaceful getaway

The cottage is rustic and adorable. Peaceful, private and has everything you need. Perfect location easy to get to all attractions and tourist destinations. It gets pitch black at night so be home before dark. Only downside is parking is very tricky owner should remove the ugly useless shrubs in front up open up the space to make parking easier. Car or small suv is recommended pickup is difficult. I loved the quaint, cozy, rustic charm

Relaxing anniversary

Listing is accurate with all around rustic feel. Reviews are accurate about parking however property just past is for sale so no big deal to block the shared gravel drive. We enjoyed our stay for certain but it’s priced high for what it is. Some general cleaning and maintenance needs to be done. Appeared as if nobody had been there in a while. We sipped coffee by the fire while building a puzzle and we’re greeted with snow that we enjoyed from the hot tub.

Mountain Getaway

The parking space is VERY small. We drove our Nissan Rogue and it fit, but anything larger and the car would have been sticking out in the road. Thankfully it’s a small gravel street with no traffic. Property appeared to have been empty for a while. Cobwebs throughout house, some spiders noticeable. A soft spot in the kitchen floor. Made contact with property owner and she was quick to respond. Had her property management team drop off some bug spray. Hot tub smelled clean but had many floating particles in it. Overall an ok stay. House is old, and could use some upkeep. Beautiful area.

Cabin stay

Our four night stay at the cabin in Gerton, NC was average at best. The cabin could use a good deep cleaning inside and out. The steps need to be pressure washed. They were very slick and could cause a fall if not careful. The previous house guest must have had a dog with them, as there was dog hair on the comforter. One of the smoke alarms in the bedroom kept chirping due to a bad battery. Also the DISH remote would not work. Like some other reviews, I found the driveway to be sketchy at times trying to park and leave the cabin. You must back all the way down the drive to leave the property. Probably will not stay at this cabin again.

Not as described

Property is not as decribed by host. The cabin is not secluded nor romantic. The parking is awful, especially for a truck. A head up would have been nice. Front door is not very secure, very bad lighting out front that barely reaches your vehicle. Bed is extremely squeaky and the matress saggy. Quite a few cobwebs and the floor has multiple soft/sinking spots. Also, you cannot cover all windows; may not be a big deal to you, but it was to us for our honeymoon. Our clothes and bags had a distinct odor after staying 4 nights. Not a pleasant experience.

Not for immobile people

The access road to the cabin is a very narrow dirt/gravel road barely passable for one car. One parking area in front does not allow room for another car to pass. The hot tub had mold on the cover and exterior surface leaving us skeptical about using it. The tub is positioned at the top of the steep stairs leading up to the cabin. The chance of getting out of the tub and falling down the stairs is a risk. Overgrown trees and bushes obscured the view. Most of the lights on the porch were burned out, electrical outlets were dangerously overloaded and close to the hot tub. At the price point we paid, including fees for cleaning we expected more. I would not recommend this cabin to anyone. I can't imagine getting a car up the incline in the winter. This cabin needs some TLC.
