Perfect size for our trip. Clean and dog friendly. Only issue was communication with own. Couldn't update my guest list and was charged an extra 100 the day we needed to check in even though I had contacted the owner weeks earlier. Not sure if it was a website issue or owner issue but it was very upsetting to have extra fees added on so last minute and so unclear why.

We’re glad your family and pups were able to enjoy the house and the fresh-baked cookies, coffee, and milk we provided. However, we were disappointed to see that your low review score reflected issues that were related to negotiating the VRBO website. Unfortunately, the number of people for your reservation was not updated correctly, which resulted in an increase to the total price. When we brought this to your attention, you mentioned you had been experiencing problems with the VRBO website for weeks. You did not message us to let us know, so we were not aware there was an issue that needed assistance. Had we known, we would have been happy to help and the matter could have been resolved before your stay. We did try to make up for the situation by offering you an early check-in and a late check-out, and by checking in with you during your stay. We are truly sorry this situation occurred.

Check in was simple and the kitchen had all the amenities of home, directions for using items within the home and check out procedures were so helpful. It was so peaceful in the evening and the lack of light pollution allowed for viewing of the stars.

Cozy cabin in the Redwoods

We enjoyed this well equipped and comfortable cabin. The property was fully fenced which was perfect for our two dogs. The owners were helpful with information about restaurants, hiking trails, and other points of interest. We would be happy to stay here again.

Family Friendly Getaway

We called it the Summer Kickoff - Retreat Nonnie & Grandpa hosted our daughters and their kids on a revolving door basis - and the house was just perfect Beds for adults, pack and plays for the babies and sleeping bags for the kids - the rooms were bright and spacious and the outdoor area was ideal for kids to play safely with joyful freedom - Thanks Lorrie and Cookie

"Sweet" isn't just the Creek

What a gem! As others have said, the pictures really don't properly convey how much thought and labor have gone into the decor, layout, and small touches of this property. We are so thrilled to have brought the first cat to Sweet Creek. Our big 'ol Maine Coone loved exploring inside and out. And the gifts and card from Lorrie and Cookie were so sweet! We felt very spoiled for our anniversary- thank you! Some general notes for others: - there is a bit of road noise when outside, but the lovely sound of the creek helps a lot. - There are 4 stairs from the ground to the porch/door. Be aware for bringing stuff inside or those with mobility issues. - The "AC" is a window unit in the living room. It works really well in conjunction with the fans, but just adjust your expectations a bit. - The yard is fully fenced but if your animal is "small" or "medium," you'll want to keep them on a leash and supervised because the driveway gate is horizontal slat with large gaps. Also, they will want to explore under the raised porch, and you may have trouble getting them back out without a leash. - If you are a daytime napper, bring a sleep mask because the skylights allow for a lot of natural light. Great to see stars and the moon in bed at night, though! - Mattresses are firm. If you need a soft one, use the Sleep Number queen in the red room. - Sonoma Ziplines is 5 minutes away- SO AWESOME! We have been VRBO-ing for nearly a decade now and your home is definitely in our top five; Number 1 if we want to bring the cat again. Would stay again in a heartbeat! With Love, Kim, Scott, & Bandit

Our host was fantastic. She responded timely with any questions for our reservations and was in contact with me throughout the day of our arrival. The house was exactly as list in Vrbo. It was prepared to have our little pets with us including a bed and some treats for them and some treats in the oven for us. The location was beautiful and was perfectly located for our family wedding. Thank you for a great stay.

If you wanna bring your pets on vacation, this is a place to be. They really cater to your animals and love your furry friends. There’s a dog bed and treats ready for them and what’s great about this place is it’s completely fenced off and you don’t have to worry about your pets running off into the creek or on the street. They really enjoy the outdoors hanging out playing fetch the places nearby to all trails and great food. The owners are very responsive and reply back to you in a timely manner. Oh and the best thing is they leave cookies and milk for you to enjoy. Thank you so much for letting us stay here. Hope we can come back soon.

Wonderful stay in the woods near river and beaches

Steve and Lorri have a wonderful property located within easy access to all that Sonoma County has to offer. We enjoyed the large fenced yard where our two small dogs had free roam. As indicated in the amenities, there is a large BBQ, lounge chairs, outside tables to enjoy your meals, and the kitchen/supplies where enough to make meal prep easy. The small AC unit along with the overhead ceiling fans was enough to keep the house cool on the warmer (summer) days. At night with all the windows open a cool breeze kept the house pleasant. I would return to this property again and highly recommend it for anyone traveling to this delightful area.

It’s exactly as described. Fresh homemade cookies in the oven for us. Treats for our dog They truly love pets. Perfect for any time of year

We had a great stay at Lorri and Steve's place. The location was perfect, close to the river, beaches, and hikes. The cookies, coffee, and dog treats were super thoughtful. We had everything we needed and were very comfortable in the house. We would love to go back when the weather is a little warmer and make more use of the outdoor space.

Relaxing weekend

We had a wonderful time at this property. It was easy to find and in a very private area that was quiet and relaxing. It was exactly as stated in the description and my teenage kids enjoyed the outdoor space in the evenings with the barbecue grill and fire pit. Will definitely consider coming back for our next weekend getaway. Nice surprise treats for our little dog who enjoyed the outdoor space without me worrying if he would get lost since the property was all fenced and gated.

hospitality and charm!!

My family of five stayed in this rental for my birthday weekend. we were greeted with a hand written note and homemade cookies and treats for our furry child. Our children enjoyed the invitation to collect some pears from the tree in the yard. The location is listed as Monte Rio but comes up as Occidental in google maps. Just an FYI. The location was great and close to both the coast and the Russian River. The only thing I would say is that if you are staying with small children, there are lots of small decorative items, so we collected these and stored them on top of the refrigerator. We had a wonderful time and we would stay here again anytime!! Thank you so much to Steve and Lorri.

A lovely long weekend with friends

We were looking for a dog-friendly getaway in the Russian River area and found this home. It’s a great value for the price with three bedrooms and a cozy living room and large kitchen. We were able to cook at the home and used the grill several times, as well as the outside fire pit. It’s a short drive to the town of Monte Rio, the River, and many other local attractions and restaurants. The owners were extremely friendly and responsive! (We never met them only texted). Thank you for a great weekend!

Steve and I are so pleased to share a chunk of paradise with you. The Russian River area is such a great place for family,friends and especially for furry companions. We lived in San Francisco and Pacifica before finding our way here to Sonoma County. We have always had a pack of dogs and a few cats to keep it more fun and furry. We know how hard it can be to vacation with a mixed family and now we can offer our place to other like minded folks.
We strive to make Sweet Creek a special place for all to enjoy.

Location, location! This property sits on a level lot which is creekside. You are close to Monte Rio Beach, zip lining in Occidental, Bodega Bay and plenty of wine tasting.

You will enjoy the wrap around porch and the nature sites. There are 3 sliding glass doors to give you access to the great scenery. We have a hammock and umbrella & a fire ring for additional R&R. Plenty of space for the family to enjoy the property. Sweet Creek is fully fenced in for the safety of your children and pets.
