Portare i bambini con voi a questo cottage per famiglie si trova sulla bellissima isola di Bailey. Godetevi la vista da est, mentre si da picnic sul ponte al piano superiore con comodi mobili da giardino. Lasciate che i bambini prendono l'aria di mare salato nel grande cortile e visitare nelle vicinanze Cedar Beach, a pochi passi di distanza. C'è anche un diritto-of-way per l'oceano a circa 300 metri dalla casa.



All'interno del casolare si trovano le due camere da letto al livello di entrata e un bagno completo con doccia stand-up. Una delle camere da letto ha un letto matrimoniale e l'altra ha due gemelli. Come ti fai strada al piano superiore si trova la zona giorno principale con vista sull'oceano. La cucina è piccola ma molto funzionale con un'area mangiare in sala da pranzo. Il soggiorno si raddoppia spazio di sonno in più con un divano letto per ospiti extra. Uscire dal soggiorno in un ampio terrazzo con una splendida vista.

The deck was great with an ocean view. The beach was lovely and short walk. The sleeping options provided options for my son and daughter in law and myself with privacy.

Majestic View

The property and location were beautiful! The deck was the best space to relax and enjoy the views. The house was clean and the kitchen was fully stocked. Love the history of the old house. The property manager was very attentive to our needs. Easy walk to Mackerel Cove and beach down the street. Will definitely stay again !

Perfect

The house was exactly what we were looking for, clean, comfortable and not fancy. It had everything we needed, including extra beach chairs and toys. My daughter loved sleeping in the "drawer bed" in the living room. The big bed downstairs was creaky and I was honestly a little afraid my husband and I might break it (we're on the large side) but it held up. We would stay here again without hesitation.

Overall a pleasant experience

Blue heron notes Overall cottage was clean and enjoyable. The deck was simply amazing. Beach umbrella one extension arm is broken and unsafe to use Someone had attempted a repair with tape. One usable skillet in kitchen, would be nice for a larger skillet instead of just one small skillet. Would also mention to renters that the tap water is not drinkable, please bring your own drinking / cooking water. Alot of the pans have rust in them One of the pan handles is broken unsafe to use, I left it out with a note Our love for Bailey island continues to grow year after year. We look forward to our next stay next year, something that sits on the water and allows our dog to also enjoy the ocean

Hello - thank you for the feedback. If you had told us about the pans or umbrella we would have happily brought you some replacements during your stay. The water is tested each year and is safe to cook and drink. We do have some people that come that are use to city water as opposed to well water, but the water here is safe!

the inside was a camp not a cottage. bugs in the bed and in the bathroom sink. Also crawling around. Plastic table cloth in kitchen was filthy. we used kitchen only a couple times. i bought a couple plastic table cloths for the next people. Also bought a new spatula to. you need to leave more towels in the beginning. couple towels don't do it. also plunger was so old it flipped over on the first try. need to trim those bushes. can only sit outside for s few minutes because to many mosquitos. the worst part is when you use the toilet, anyone in the house can hear what you are doing. When you flush you can hear it outside. This is not a good place for a summer rental.

It has not been reported about any bugs, the toilet issues and you didn't reach out about cleanliness. We do have more than two towels there so please again let me know if somehow there wasn't to start.

I wish I could give more than five stars for the communication and check-in process. Our local host reached out a few days prior to check in and provided Code for the door which worked seamlessly. We had a couple of questions and they were always extremely responsive. The cabin was basic and clean, and the views were amazing! The only thing I would complain about was the path to the beach. It was grown over and when we finally pushed through to the end, there was no place to sit Cash you were at the top of a Rockwall and could not get down to the water. There were restaurants within walking distance and a fantastic general store nearby. Full experience for the price!!! Will definitely check availability if we are in the area again!

Cute spot!

We had a wonderful week at Blue Heron. At first we thought the bedrooms being downstairs would be awkward, but it made sense since we hung out mostly upstairs where we had a nice view of the ocean. The cottage has everything we needed to cook meals including a lobster pot and crackers. It was a quick 1/2 mile walk to Cedar Beach which was not crowded at all. Beautiful beach! There were even beach toys at the cottage which was great since my son thought he was too old for beach toys when we were packing but once we went to the beach he wanted all kinds of things. The cottage is also walking distance to a little grocery store that has basic items and sells breakfast food and sandwiches. It was a great week!

Quaint beach cottage

This small, two story, no frills cottage is one street from the ocean, has a nice view of the water from the back deck (perfect for breakfast), and has a very short walk to the coastline where you can find lots of treasures. The kitchen was equipped with every possible pot and utensil and the beds were comfy. Though there were just two of us, the two bedrooms on the first level would provide plenty of room for a small family. There was always a pleasant breeze drifting through the cottage. An added bonus was the short walk to Cedar Beach (sandy) which is accessible to only those who own nearby homes or their renters/guests. There is no parking permitted on Cedar Beach Rd, so the beach goers are only those who can walk. It was lovely, with plenty of shells, and at low tide you could wade all the way out to Cedar Island where you could explore the tidal pools. There are beach monitors who confirm your identity...they are very pleasant. We totally enjoyed our stay!

Rustic is an understatement

The house was super hot during the day and super cold during the night. I arrived and had to put my own fan together. After that nats covered my bed. The next night the nats were less but there were ants and spiders. The bedsrooms downstairs are next to the water system which makes a loud processing noise at 2 or 3 in the morning.

Perfect house, perfect location, perfect weather!

Our week at The Blue Heron Cottage was perfect! The weather was divine in June! We escapes 99 degree days in Savannah, GA to enjoy low temps in the mid-fifties and highs in the mid- sixties. The cottage is wonderfully dog-friendly (though Cedar Beach is NOT). The proprietor of B.I.G.S. gave us some tips for where our pup would be most welcome. BTW, the pancakes at B.I.G.S. are spectacular (ask for blueberries)! The food and service at Morse's (an easy walk from the cottage is terrific and the services great, too. We took several easy day trips to Georgetown/Five Islands, Wiscasset (Red's Eats is a MUST) to Boothbay/Boothbay Harbor (Bet's Fish Fry was a culinary high point, even for my wife who likes her fish broiled) and Rockland (The Farnsworth Museum has a terrific Wyeth exhibition)> But most days we hunkered down on Bailey island, walking, some light hiking and lounging in the cottage. Bailey Island was perfect for us! The Blue Heron Cottage reminded us of an old beach house on the SC coast where we'd stayed regularly across 30 plus years. While it was perfect for the two of us, two couples might find it too intimate; having said that, there's nothing I would have changed about our experience. Clean, well appointed (the bed was great!) and perfectly located, we'll be back! Thanks to HomeAaway and Your Island Connection!
