The house was well-kept and had everything we could've needed! A perfect location near the beach and downtown shopping, plus the trolley stop being right on the corner was a great added bonus!

Overall. this was a good beach house for our family of 13. We rented at the end of the season, so it is reasonable that some things did not work properly. For example, more than half of the electrical outlets did not work. This was frustrating, but I assume the owner will correct that in the off-season. More important, the internet was slow, making it hard for the few young professional in our group to keep up to speed with their work from there.Of the many things that were very positive about the house, its closeness to the beach, its roominess, the configuration of rooms/beds, the abundance of kitchen equipment (a common beach house challenge), and its quiet location makes up for a lot. We intend to rent it again next summer.

Quiet location with tons of space with walking distance to the beach. Everything was clean and well communicated . Couldn’t ask for more

Lovely property

As a multi-generational family, we were thrilled with our rental. Plenty of space to spread out; a room for our jigsaw puzzles, separate den, gathering and dining spaces ... wrap-around and screened in porches. An extra bonus was the upstairs suite with Jacuzzi and the outdoor, enclosed shower. Walking distance to beach and center of town. The free trolley stopped around the corner; our teens enjoyed biking several miles.

Overall we enjoyed our stay, and thought that it was a good house and location for the price. The owner was responsive and sent people out to address a few issues. That being said, there were a few things to note:1. The twin beds on the first floor are makeshift beds on a wooden frame, and are uncomfortable. When we first arrived, there were no slats and the mattress would fall through the frame and onto the floor. The owner sent someone out and had this fixed, but it is definitely something that should have been addressed ahead of time.2. The wifi needs to be upgraded to support the number of people for that sized house. It was very slow.3. Several outlets did not work, and several bedroom door locks did not work. 4. The water heater should also be upgraded to accommodate the number of people that would be staying in that house. There were multiple instances where guests did not have hot water.5. There was an issue with the garbage disposal, but the owner quickly coordinated to have that fixed.These issues can easily be overlooked when considering the price and location.

We are incredibly sorry that the slats were missing upon your arrival. Because it was a holiday, it took a little extra coordination, but we were glad we could get a technician out to fully repair the frames that same day. We truly appreciate your patience while we resolved that! Garbage Disposal: We were happy we could quickly coordinate that same-day fix for you to keep your stay on track. WiFi, Outlets, & Hot Water: Thank you for this valuable feedback. We want the home to comfortably support larger groups, so we are currently looking into upgrading the internet speed, assessing the water heater capacity, and having our team check the outlets and door locks.

Family Beach Trip

We're seasoned renters in Bethany, and the house did not disappoint. This was our first time renting west of Route 1, but the walk to the beach and into town was easy and safe. House is on the trolley route if you aren't up for the walk! The open main level is very spacious, with lots of room for family to gather. The master bedroom is as spectacular as the pictures let on. Kitchen was small for a group of our size. Rental company called us when the house was ready earlier than the posted check-in time, and responded promptly when we needed some assorted lightbulbs.

Beautiful House, Really Bad Experience

Truth be told, the house is beautiful. It was spacious, and accommodated our group of 13 exceptionally. We arrived the first night and were blown away and really looking forward to enjoying the weekend there. Upon waking up in the morning, we unfortunately encountered bed bugs. What was maddening was that the management company knew that this was occurring, but deemed the place clean (after some inspection) and ready after having some "treatment" during the weeks prior. According to the property managers, the mattress was deemed clear in that room. Needless to say, when two of the guests woke up in the morning to bugs on them and blood marks on the mattress, sheets, and their shirts, they were not amused. And neither was I. These are the options that the property manager offered: 1. Have someone come to treat it again and be out of the house for a while. 2. Seal off the room and use another room if possible (???) 3. Get a full refund. They had no other property to move us to. The company made ZERO effort to help accommodate my party. But didn't hesitate to tell me how much the owner had invested into trying to resolve the bed bug issue--after first asking if the bugs were alive or dead. Don't get me wrong, the people on the phone were nice, but I don't think they understood the gravity of having bed bugs in all of your stuff. They did stop to let me know that if we saw bugs, they were probably in the process of dying after having undergone treatment -- as you can imagine, we did not feel better. Needless to say, we got out of there as fast as we could. Courtesy and thanks for letting us wash and dry our clothes. Offering me my money back is the absolute bare minimum that this company could have done. So credit where its due. And I feel sorry for the owner. The house is beautiful, but this was a disaster in management in the highest order.

Thank you for writing a review. Yes. Someone brought bed bugs into the home and upon discovering them we quickly took action to remedy. The home was professionally treated and all actions taken to prevent further issue such as encasing all the mattresses and box springs. Prior to your arrival the home was inspected and cleared. We sincerely apologize that you arrived and had issues. The home is now bug free.

Great Vacation Home

We are a multigenerational family of 11, and there was room for all of us to sleep and relax comfortably. There was a special room for the younger members to play games and watch TV. We had most meals at home, the kitchen was well equipped and the second fridge downstairs made life much easier. The location was perfect, close to the beach and town. The wifi and TV worked great during our stay. We are planning to stay here again next year.

Enjoyed the house

Well layed out and well equipped. Did have two family members hampered all week with welts from some insects? Noting in case this is a repeat of any past guests at this house. Couple both used the “loft” bedroom.

Great beach rental!

My family and I just stayed for 3 nights and we all enjoyed the house! It was spacious for 10 adults + 5 kids and was very clean when we arrived. A few minute walk to the beach was easy and safe with a pedestrian crosswalk. I was happy to find an extra fridge in the garage which we used for drinks. We used the grill one night with no issues. We all loved the outdoor shower. Lots of different spaces and plenty of room for everyone.

Great beach house!!!!

This place was VERY spacious, close to the beach, clean and fit 16 of our friends and family perfectly. The outdoor deck and yard was perfect to relax on and play games. We walked to the Bethany boardwalk and it was an easy 10 minute walk which was very convenient! It is obvious it is a rental as there were some scuffs on the walls and the furniture was dated but that’s not something we look for or care about so it was absolutely perfect for us! Just make sure you bring paper goods, coolers, beach chairs, toilet paper, hand soup etc as the place was not very stocked with those things. We went early in the season so I assume people leave these things throughout the summer for the next renters. Overall we had the best time and would book here again!!!!

Overall good, but could have been cleaner

Overall, this is a good rental. Great location (10 min walk to beach, gotta cross Route 1 though), plenty of parking, lots of space to spread out, ground level locking storage room and second refrigerator, quiet development, easy comms with rental agency The main downside we experienced was in cleanliness. It either was not cleaned at all before we came in or was done in a rush and not thorough. Food was left behind and coffee maker had moldy grounds and filter in it. Also, the grill needs attention. It worked fine (bring your own grill tools), but the grease trap was never cleaned and grease leaked all over the deck. Also, the wifi wasn't reliable and the TV didn't get signal. Bring your blackout shades as two bedrooms face east and get very early and bright sun in the summer. I would rent the place again. If they address the cleanliness issue, which I assume they will, this place is a 9/10.

Thank you for taking the time to review your experience. While we strive for excellence, things fall through the cracks. Upon arrival, if you find any cleaning issues, we ask that you call us right away and we will have those issues addressed to satisfaction. (The owner also has a new cleaner and we have received ZERO complaints)As far as he cable/int, we are at the mercy of ONE local provider. We did have the system checked and all seems to be working properly now.

Lots of Space

This was a great place with lots of space. We had 15 total in our family gathering ranging from 1 year old to 77 years old (4 generations). We really enjoyed the layout of the home. There were plenty of places to spread out and not feel cramped. The managing company was quick to respond and make sure we had everything we needed. The owners were wonderful and helpful as well. It is only 3 blocks from the beach - walking distance. Highly recommend this home for your next family get together!!
