The home was clean. It is a little dated and there is no air conditioning. but it worked for us as my sister was renting the house next door

There was a terrible odor in the dining room of urine. Apparently a dog had peed in the corner. There were no kitchen towels when we arrived, I contacted them and they did leave us some kitchen towels. There were no lights in the living room, there were lights, but they didn’t reach any of the outlets many of the lightbulbs throughout the cabin were out. There were no instructions on how to use the TV in the living room. We ended up spending more time in the basement because we could work that TV. Bathroom seemed very dark. There was a beautiful view from the second and third floor.

Thank you for staying with us and for taking the time to leave your review. I truly apologize for the urine odor in the dining room — that’s unacceptable. We’ve scheduled a deep clean and professional deodorizing of the area that will take place this week. I also apologize for the lighting and TV issues. Maintenance will replace any burned-out bulbs, inspect the outlets and fixtures in the living room and bathroom, and we’ll add clear TV setup and remote instructions so the living-room TV is guest-ready. Thank you again for taking the time to share your experience with us!

Great location with a beautiful

This was a great location with a fantastic view. The furniture is a little dated and the linens could be upgraded but it was very clean and otherwise well maintained.

A great weekend at the beach

Beautiful property overlooking the ocean. Great views and easy access to the beach. If you don’t mind a little hike up the stairs. Everything was excellent.

As soon as we walked in we were rushed with the smell of both pet urine and mildew. The upstairs door to outside was also broken. We called host who sent someone to spray enzyme killer but did not do additional cleaning, they then said they'd send someone to fix the door which never happened over 6 days. First day we bought groceries and put them in the fridge, went to dinner and came back and everything was hot. We called and they told us to keep unplugging it and plugging in back in to keep working until a maintenance guy came. He came 24 hours later to find the back was caked in dog hair and couldn't stay cold. We ended up going into the store and purchasing candles and a bunch of cleaners to minimize the smell because there were no other homes available. What was supposed to be our one week a year to rest, turned into us trying to stay away from the house as much as possible. We couldn't just sit back to relax because of fear of bio. Coffee pot, toaster, dining room table also broken and no remote to tv downstairs. We usually LOVE Merideth Lodging, but this was the worst experience. This house had amazing views, super cute in character, and tons of potential if carpets were replaced. None of that was worth the experience of the smells, sticky urine floors, and everything being broken. Especially for the cost.

Thank you for staying with us and for taking the time to leave us your feedback. I’m very sorry your stay was disrupted by persistent odors, incomplete cleaning, and multiple maintenance concerns — none of these things should have interrupted your vacation. Since you checked out, the remote and coffee maker were replaced and a professional carpet clean was completed. The maintenance team is working on the dining table as well. Regarding the fridge, you notified us that it did start cooling a few hours after you filled it with food. We sometimes see a delay in cooling when too much food, especially if it's any warmer than the fridge temp, is placed in the fridge at once. That being said, our maintenance team did still clean the coils to ensure it was working as efficiently as possible for you. We haven't had any concerns with the fridge since, and have been keeping a close eye on it. I'm sincerely sorry your vacation wasn't was you expected and I want you to know we are taking your concerns seriously and making prompt improvements.

The views cannot be beat!!! The way this house is designed makes it so you can see the ocean from every room. (Except the lower level, but that was a fun room). The outside deck is phenomenal. We even saw some whale spouts in the distance. Even when the fog rolls in, it looks magical.There is some normal wear and tear, but the home is cozy and has a lived in feel. The layout is great for families, due to the divided layout between floors. Kids/teens will love the lower level.The oven has been upgraded since the pics. Plenty of appliances, dishes and utensils for cooking in.Check in was a breeze. Meredith and her staff were quick to respond to texts, even though there weren’t any problems. We will definitely return and would highly recommend this property.

Key

I would recommend changing the locks to the house. The key would get stuck in the locks and it would take us a good 5-10 minutes to get it out. I’d also recommend at least a 11am check out time for the easy of enjoying your last morning watching the waves while drinking some coffee.

Perfect spot. The kitchen blinds need replacing. My husband had to fix a burner on the stove. The bathroom countertop is very low so u have to stoop to reach everything. I'm an average height person. The view is breathtaking! No other c/o's. Highly recommend!

Great View/House Needs A lot of Work

I slept like a baby every night listening to the ocean, and I had great access to the beach. The house is in desperate need of upgrades, not only esthetically, but the electrical is a big concern. We experienced a spark when plugging in our phone charger as well as the coffee machine. Most of the outlets need replacing because some of our cords would fall out. The carpet and couch are very very dirty. All of the knives are dull, and the kitchen sink drips. We found a bowl of food; it looked like chili left on the downstairs bunk bed! The furnace in the bedroom on the left doesn't work, and the wall fireplace remote in the opposite bedroom doesn't work.
