The area is a little rough looking the lobby is a little outdated and needs some maintenance. The hallways need a little maintenance. The room was great everything we needed was there.

The room was great - large, clean, and well supplied. The elevator was dirty and only 1 out of 4 lights were working so it felt dingy. The elevator ceiling panels weren’t in place and it looked like work needed to be done to repair them. I would stay there again, but the common areas need some love.

This is made for teens, not for mature adults with careers. Dorm room type stay. This property was beneath our standards, smelled like a sweaty gym bag, poor quality furnituring. This is good for a quick last resort for Downtown Detroit commuting. Building not secure, anyone can walk in (without code if someone is exiting). Lack of parking unless you want to pay $30 across the street at a different hotel. Peddlers standing outside of building. Conceptionally ideal, realistically not ideal for us.

Perfect location, easy check in, spacious room. Probably could use a deep clean. A little sketchy outside hotel at dark. If I needed a room again for a group of six girls, would definitely stay there again.

Let's Hope For A Better Stay Next Time

This was my 3rd time staying here, and usually I am very pleased with my stay, but this time I was not. Our sheets were not clean, nor were the utensils as there were chunks of food still stuck to them. The bathroom was also unclean and so was the kitchen sink. There was mold inside of the washer and me and my wife spent the first few hours of our stay cleaning and sanitizing. The wifi wasn't working for about 5 hours, so we could not use the television in the room. I also requested towels and pillows at the front desk and no one ever brought them to us. We were there for 3 days/2 nights and no one brought them up. We noticed bugs as well during our stay, which was a first for us.

Lovely staff icky shoddy renovations

Having stayed at a Sonder property in Montreal this location leaves much to be desired and did meet expectations regarding the time and effort put into the renovation and repairs of the spaces. Every staff member we encountered were kind and warm so this truly isn’t anything those working here could address. Rather it has to do with how run down and tired the hotel felt visually both internally and externally. The bed was clean and comfortable but waking up to the actual space was a let down and didn’t feel like a place I’d want to relax in.

When booking I wish we would have known that there’s no desk staff so you check in online and have to type in codes to enter the hotel and your room. We were going to inquire about checking in an hour early (ok if we couldn’t!) but there was no one to ask. The room was ok but there was no hot water at the bathroom sink, it was HOT and turning the thermostat down did nothing. There is no hotel bar or anything - that one is our fault for not checking! Overall, meh.

Great location for being close to fun, very loud

Honestly, we love how close the location is to the downtown area and how easy it is to get around by scooter. This stay however, we had a few issues. 1. The noises from the hallway from the bedroom are extremely loud, we coukd hear everytime someone opened a door and slammed it, people yelling in the hallway etc. Idk if it was just the top floor but it was noisy every morning while we were still trying to sleep in. 2. On the last night, I think the smoke alarm was low on battery and kept making a chirping noise, couldnt tell if it was ours or the unit next to us. 3. We could hear cars racing down the street all night like the windows were wide open, even they they were closed. Its like all of the walls even the outside is made of paper, I could hear everything that was happening outside of our unit. 4. The internet went out on the last day which was kind of annoying for trying to plan things and watch tv, but i guess we cant control the internet companies outages. What we love about the unit is that there is a washer dryer and full kitchen which is amazing for an extended trip, i was able to get our laundry done before leaving and have almost no clothes to wash getting home. The location was great for getting to what we wanted to do, scooters were almost always within a block or 2 walk. Starbucks is kiddie corner and parking is $5 less a night when mentioning Sonder. Very close parking lot as well. Would stay again for the price but hope for a less noisy floor.

The property was just steps away from restaurants and stores. Decent location. The unit was spacious. The bedroom had no door which made it challenging with 4 people. There is someone at the desk 24/7. Washer and dryer was a bonus. Only spoons and knives so bought plastic forks.

Definitely got what I paid for out of the room; one of the nicest I've ever stayed in and very good value. A little noisy at night but it subsided at a somewhat reasonable time.

The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The location was excellent for us. The amenities were awesome, washer/dryer, kitchen with stove, fridge, cookware/utensils, etc. it was clean and we felt safe in the neighborhood. Good dining options around. Near a people mover stop. Comfortable bed and good room darkening shades. We will definitely stay there again when in Detroit. It was a little pricey for us, but worth it.

It is located directly across the street from the public transit center and the downtown stop for the DAX bus from the airport. If you use public transit exclusively (as I do) it is the ideal location to be at. The down side of this is there are lots of 'lingerers' in the immediate area outside the building, but I never felt unsafe. The apartment was perfect; especially if you're staying a week or more. Full kitchen and laundry machines make this a money-saving way to spend an extended period in the heart of the city. It's not fancy, but extremely functional for what it costs to stay there. I will stay there the next time I go to Detroit, and i would highly recommend it as a clean, economical way to be in Detroit center city.
