The unit was mostly clean. A few cobwebs in the corners and dusty lamp over the table type things, but bathroom, living space and linens were all clean. A pan I took out with was a little greasy and needed cleaning before use. Also, it’s the end unit next to the gate to the pool, which gets slammed constantly. Nothing the owners can do about that, just a heads up.
Pool itself is nice, clean and well maintained, as is the property. The lounge chairs need a little cleaning up, though.
My biggest complaint is that the internet did not work during our entire stay. The wireless network was on, but didn’t have internet. We noticed on Saturday (checked in Friday afternoon) and called, but left a message because the office was closed. I never received a call back about it before we checked out Wednesday morning. Tried the provided instructions of unplugging and restarting, but that didn’t work.
There isn’t much to the neighborhood, as it’s on the mainland part of Ft Walton, but we knew that going in. There’s a decent breakfast place (Chicken n the egg) within walking distance, and a Publix and Target close by. The beach is about a 5 minute drive across the bridge if there’s no traffic.
Overall, decent value considering the cost.
